Wow. That did happen! The outcome of this series is bound to cause a stir across Bangladesh - with days left to the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA, Bangladesh are far from where they need to be. Happy times for the United States of America cricket team - with a series win over Bangladesh, they'll be set for a challenge against the likes of India, Pakistan or Ireland. But before that, can they make it a 3-0 cleansweep over Bangladesh on Saturday? Join us right here on Sportskeeda to find out, and keep an eye on our tabs for our coverage of all cricket across the globe! This is the duo of Probuddha Bhattacharya and Pradeep, signing off for now. See you later!
Monank Patel (USA captain): Proud of the boys and happy to have defended the low total. Bowlers bowled well in the powerplay, used the conditions well and got the wickets timely. When you win, you always get confidence and leading to the World Cup, it'll help us.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh captain): Disappointing for us, we lost wickets at regular intervals and that was the main reason. We didn't play well, it's good opportunity and came up with a good plan for the last game and come up with better performance. We should change our mindset, we didn't do well in the last two matches and turn up better next game.
Ali Khan is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: It was a low scoring, wicket slowed down later on. Lot of credit to all the bowlers, they put in the effort and restricted the Bangladeshi batters and we kept taking the wickets and that brought us back in the game. Netravalkar kept it tight and allowed me to defend with more runs in the final over. Mindset is all about one wicket to win, my goal is to back my strengths and try to get the wicket, bouncer option went for four but stuck to my strengths and went for the full deliveries and thank god it worked out for me. Tail enders expect short balls and tried that, didn't work out, I came back well and got the wicket.
Match summary:
United States of America win by 6 runs and lead the 3-match T20I series 2-0
Cricket is one great leveler, and Bangladesh sure have learned this the hard way! They've just lost two T20I internationals in the span of three days to a team far from gaining full membership. The United States of America sure have done the unthinkable - their bowlers have been an integral unit in sealing an unforgettable series win!
Despite losing a couple of wickets early on, Bangladesh seemed to have the game in the bag. Saurabh Netravalkar plucked a reflex catch off his own bowling to account for Soumya Sarkar in the first over of the run-chase, and just as young Tanzid Hasan Tamim was looking to get off to a start, he had a rather reckless hack across the line and threw it away.
Towhid Hridoy joined Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, and while the duo began stitching a partnership, the United States bowlers managed to keep the runs in check all along. Bangladesh had a big over going into the halfway mark - 14 came off the 10th, and with 69 needed off 60, many would have backed Bangladesh to coast through to the target with time to spare.
Bangladesh then went on to do the most Bangladesh-like thing one can imagine - self-destruct. The process began with Shanto running himself out having run one and a half, while Hridoy never budged, kicking the ball towards the bowler while at it. A couple of tight overs later, Hridoy dragged one onto his stumps from Anderson, and once Mahmudullah yorked himself having run down the wicket, the alarm bells were off for the visitors.
Even though a productive over or two came along, Bangladesh kept losing wickets in the quest to finish things off. Jaker Ali and Shakib Al Hasan fell off successive deliveries across the 17th over mark, and despite the required rate just over a run-a-ball, panic sure did set in the Tigers' camp. Rishad Hossain made a belated attempt to get his side past the line, but in trying to ramp one past the keeper, he offered a simple catch to the USA skipper, sparking wild celebrations among the hosts! Presentations to come....
United States of America won by 6 runs and win the series 2-0 with a game to spare!
19.3 Ali Khan to Rishad Hossain, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! It's all over for Bangladesh. Historic moment for USA, they win the T20I series, 2-0 with a game to go. My goodness, this is the upset of all sorts that we just witnessed. USA managed to pull of another win and Ali Khan turned the tide for USA and fittingly finishes things off as well. Back of a length outside the off-stump, Rishad walks across to ramp but only finds the feather to the keeper and plenty to ponder for Bangladesh with World Cup just around the corner.
Rishad Hossain c Monank Patel b Ali Khan 9 (5b 2x4 0x6)
Bangladesh need 7 off 4 now!
19.2 Ali Khan to Rishad Hossain, FOUR! What a shot from Rishad, he has kept the hopes alive of Bangladesh. Short outside the off-stump, pulled that one away to wide long-on and the fielder getting around can't stop it and goes one bounce into the ropes.
19.1 Ali Khan to Mustafizur Rahman, full outside the off-stump, Fizz misses the drive but Rishad hares across and steals a bye. Keeper misses and Ali couldn't collect the ball neatly.
Ali Khan will bowl the final over!
Oh my goodness, what have we just witnessed. USA are in the brink of creating something spectacular. Bangladesh need 12 of the last over. Can Fizz and Rishad do it for Bangladesh?

18.6 Saurabh Netravalkar to Mustafizur Rahman, low full toss on the off-stump. Fizz punched it down to long-on for a single.
18.5 Saurabh Netravalkar to Mustafizur Rahman, OH! Misses the yorker, turns out to be a low full toss and Fizz keeps it out but it's another dot.
Mustafizur Rahman [LHB] last man comes in!
18.4 Saurabh Netravalkar to Shoriful Islam, OUT! DRAGS IT BACK ON! My word, USA are closing in on nicely here. Full on the fourth stump, Shoriful has a big swing at it but gets a thick inside edge back on to the stumps.
18.3 Saurabh Netravalkar to Rishad Hossain, too full and angled it well outside the off-stump. Rishad down the track, had to reach and carves it to sweeper cover for another single.
18.2 Saurabh Netravalkar to Shoriful Islam, low full toss on the stumps, Shoriful backs away and smashes it to deep extra-cover for just a single.
18.1 Saurabh Netravalkar to Shoriful Islam, searing yorker, right up in the blockhole. Shoriful digs it out and it's another dot.
