Match Summary: USC Magdeburg beat BSV Britannia by 6 wickets.
Having lost their first game today, USC Magdeburg would have found it challenging to put it behind them and bounce back. They have done so in style, however and have returned to winning ways in clinical fashion having set it up with a superb display of bowling to ensure that BSV Britannia did not post an imposing total.
The start wasn't ideal though having lost two wickets in just the second over with Sourabh Krishnatrey breaking the game open. Funnily enough, he did not get a second over post that even as the game started to get out of hand for Britannia. Rakesh Jogi led the way for Magdeburg with a breezy start although it was Sai Jeevangekar who took over post the former's dismissal, finding the fence regularly and ensuring that the asking rate never got out of hand.
If anything, a sleuth of big overs saw the required rate reduce drastically and put Magdeburg right in pole position. Het Gandhi did his bit with a few sensational blows of his own and it soon got into a territory where the result was a question of when and not if. As it turned out, Magdeburg required just eight overs to get the job done despite losing Jeevangekar towards the end. A real stroll in the park after that early wobble and they'll be super delighted with the manner in which they turned up in this contest.
This win is now the second of the campaign for Magdeburg who now have four points in their kitty from five games. Time will tell if this can get the ball rolling and they start peaking at the right time. As for Britannia, they don't have reason to panic since this was just their first defeat of the season. But they will certainly look back at what was a largely insipid display across departments and hope that it was just an aberration and nothing more.
Dexterous wrist-work to finish the game! Het Gandhi has played a blinder of his own to shut the door firmly on Britannia and this has been a dominant victory for USC Magdeburg!

7.6 Waqas Virk to Het Gandhi, SIX! GAME, SET AND MATCH! It's game over to and seals the game in style. Length delivery on the middle and leg, Gandhi leans and flicked it away, that just lands on the ropes. USC Magdeburg are back to winning ways and BSV Britannia have to get their act together in the next game.
7.5 Waqas Virk to Vinod Budati, length delivery on the middle and leg, Vinod clipped it straight to mid-wicket and the fielder let's it through for a single.

Alas, Jeevangekar cannot have the last say in this contest but he has done his job and then some. What a knock this has been!
7.4 Waqas Virk to Sai Jeevangekar, OUT! BIG APPEAL FOR LBW AND GIVEN! Too little too late this. Full on the stumps, Sai looks to play across the line and misses, raps on the pad and he's a goner. Sai Jeevangekar lbw b Waqas Virk 32 (17b, 2x4, 3x6)
7.3 Waqas Virk to Het Gandhi, back of a length, jags back in sharply. Gandhi went back to defend but chopped it back on to the pad and they take a tight single. Fielder has a wayward throw and misses.
7.3 Waqas Virk to Het Gandhi, WIDE! Virk loses his radar, strays it down the leg-side and has been called a wide.
7.2 Waqas Virk to Sai Jeevangekar, length delivery on the off-stump, Sai leans and flicked it to mid-wicket for a quick single.
7.1 Waqas Virk to Sai Jeevangekar, SIX! BANG! Sensational shot from Sai. Length delivery but down the leg-side, he gets inside the line and hoicks it all the way over long-leg fence for a maximum.
Sheer carnage! No other word can describe what we're witnessing here in Dresden. And just like that, the equation has reduced to less than a run-a-ball from Magdeburg's point of view. They might just finish it off this very over...
