Thanks for tuning in today for this rather lopsided, yet quite exciting game! This is Mohul Bhowmick signing off on behalf of my good friend and fellow commentator Soumarya Dutta. Hop tabs to join me as I take you through the next game of the day, which will be played between Cricketer CC and Austrian Daredevils.
Vienna CC beat Austrian Daredevils by 20 runs!
Abdullah Akbarjan 46* (22) | Ajmal Oryakhil 3/10 Paygham Omari 21 (14) | Abdullah Akbarjan 2/14
Despite their best efforts to try and do so, the Austrian Daredevils' innings just did not get going. They did not quite lose a lot of wickets in clusters but their batters still failed to make a mark for themselves.
The bowlers of Vienna CC, led by the veteran Daniel Eckstein and Junaid Syed, put the noose around the necks of the batters of the Daredevils, and did not allow them to score runs freely at all.
Although a few runs came off the over when Akbarjan doled out a few dollies, things seemed to be well in control of Vienna. However, it was the eighth over of this innings, bowled by medium-pacer Sai Sama, that gave the Daredevils some hope that they could perhaps effect a comeback into this game.
However, nothing substantial came of it, and Vienna CC managed to win this game quite comfortably. This will give Vienna a lot of confidence although the Daredevils will be traumatised by the drubbing they received here. They go on to take on Cricketer CC in the last game of the day.
