Match Summary: Vienna CC beat Graz Cricket Academy by 42 runs.
Mark Simpson-Parker 76 (32) | Abdullah Akbarjan 2/1 (1) Bhargav Pandya 18* (10) | Hamid Safi 2/29 (2)
A clinical display from start to finish from Vienna CC! They were set up by a magnificent display of hitting by skipper Mark Simpson-Parker whose knock of 76 powered them to a solid total of 114 which was always going to be challenging to overhaul. But with Graz Cricket Academy just not getting a move on from the outset, they were left to play catch-up throughout!
Bharath Gowda was tied down initially with Daniel Eckstein and Junaid Syed bowling their quota of overs out at a stretch. They also chipped away at the wickets with Shawkat Durani's run out compounding GCA's woes in their chase. It was just a sign of things to come as one after another, wickets tumbled like ninepins with the asking rate rising even further.
For a moment, it looked as though GCA would be rolled over for a very meagre total but somehow, they managed to avoid that with Bhargav Pandya hanging in there and striking a couple of big ones. Alas, it was never going to be enough to avoid a massive defeat, with the bowlers all combining to tie the batters in knots and not let them get away, as the eventual margin suggests.
Both teams won't be able to make it to the semifinals but they would want to bow out of the tournament on a high. Vienna CC have taken the first step towards the same while GCA would want to do much the same themselves with one more game to go.
A comprehensive and thoroughly professional display across departments by Vienna CC. They've not broken a sweat in this contest and walk away with two crucial points under their belt!

Bhargav Pandya was a near lone warrior with the ball and he's waging a lost battle here with the bat too. Some positive to take out of this contest for GCA with just one over to go in this match.
