MATCH OVER!
Vienna CC won by five wickets!
Vienna Eagles 103/3 (10) Vienna CC 106/5 (9.5)
Mark Simpson-Parker 56 (21) | Daniel Eckstein 14 (9)
Naveed Hussain 2-0-16-3 | Karanbir Singh 2-0-9-1
What a thrilling win for Vienna CC. They wrap up the victory with one ball to spare even though it should have been a much comfortable one. Such was the start that Daniel Eckstein and Mark Simpson-Parker made it look so easy as Vienna CC raced onto 54/0 after the three-over Powerplay.
Daniel Eckstein departed at the start of the fourth over but Simpson-Parker carried on in merry way. However, Arsalan Arif struggled at the other end before Karanbir Singh dismissed him in the fifth over. The danger-man Simpson-Parker did get to his fifty but the game changed in the seventh over. Naveed Hussain struck twice as he removed both Abdullah Akbarjan and SImpson-Parker to pull Vienna Eagles back into the game. Thereafter, Karanbir Singh sneaked in an economical over as Vienna CC suddenly required 18 off 12 balls. The pressured increased further as Aziz Khatak holed out off Naveed's bowling courtesy a stunning catch from Yawar Abbas.
Yet, Khitab Omari provided another drama as he scored ten off his first two balls with Vienna CC now requiring five runs off the final over. Despite the favourable equation, Ali Rahemi put pressure on himself as he swung and missed on a few occasions with the equation coming down to 4 off 3 balls eventually. This is when Rahemi got a piece of fortune as he was dropped at deep point after which an outside-edge was fumbled at third. This meant that Vienna CC somehow got over the line with a ball remaining!
9.5 Yawar Abbas to Ali Rahemi, FOUR! EDGED! Another poor piece of fielding and it is the fielding that might have just robbed the Eagles off a win here! Back of a length ball on the fourth stump line swinging away, Rahemi throws the kitchen sink at it and gets the thick outside edge down to deep third man! The fielder at deep third man cannot get behind the ball and the ball goes away to the fence!
9.4 Yawar Abbas to Ali Rahemi, DROPPED! Short and outside off, Rahemi shuffles across and slashes it aerially. The deep point fielder dives but he spills that! Oh dear! That should've been pouched! Fires in a throw but the batter seems to have made it back for the second.
9.3 Yawar Abbas to Ali Rahemi, slower full ball on the body, Rahemi goes for the big hoick across the line but the ball swings away and beats the outside edge!
9.2 Yawar Abbas to Ali Rahemi, length ball outside off swinging away, Rahemi shuffles across and looks to drive but is beaten on the outside edge.
9.2 Yawar Abbas to Ali Rahemi, WIDE! Bangs in short but it ends up going past the tramline on the off side! Huge wide!
9.1 Yawar Abbas to Ali Rahemi, back of a length ball outside off, Rahemi looks to slash it away but fails to make any connection. 5 in 5 balls now!
What a game this is turning out to be. Just when one thought that Vienna Eagles got on top, Khitab Omari has changed the complexion of this game with ten runs off two balls. Vienna CC require 5 off the last over!

8.6 Naveed Hussain to Khitab Omari, FOUR! Length ball angled at the body of Omari, who whips that off his pads! Into the gap at backward square leg and it runs away to the fence!
8.5 Naveed Hussain to Khitab Omari, SIX! BANG! Into the slot and outside off, Omari holds his ground and sends that packing over the long off region for a huge maximum! Another twist in the tale!
Khitab Omari, RHB, is into the middle
Superb catch from Yawar Abbas and Vienna Eagles are jubilant here. They have been brilliant on the field all through the innings
8.4 Naveed Hussain to Aziz Khatak, OUT! CAUGHT! Length ball on the off stump swinging away, Rahemi shuffles across and goes for the big heave across the line! Gets it off the middle of the bat and Khatak was standing confidently! The deep mid-wicket fielder runs around and plucks it out of thin air!
Aziz Khatak c Yawar Abbas b Naveed Hussain 1 (3b,0x4, 0x6)
8.3 Naveed Hussain to Ali Rahemi, short of a length delivery that grips in the surface, Rahemi is early and he lobs that over the covers for a single.
8.2 Naveed Hussain to Ali Rahemi, length ball on the fourth stump line, Rahemi shuffles across and goes for the big hoick across the line. However, he fails to make any connection.
8.1 Naveed Hussain to Ali Rahemi, back of a length ball outside off angling away, Rahemi dabs that down through the backward point region for a couple of runs.
Just three runs off the over. This game is really going down to the wire here. Vienna CC still require 18 off 12 balls
