Match Summary: Babonneau Leatherbacks beat Vieux Fort North Raiders by 12 runs.

The value of having a good total on the board has been proven in this contest. Irrespective of the format, it always goes a long way in aiding a team's cause and it was none too different with the Babonneau Leatherbacks, who posted 104 on the board after being asked to bat by the Vieux Fort North Raiders. It was down to Shervon Joseph and Johnel Eugene who powered them along their innings and while they might have fallen short of the psychological 110-run mark, their bowlers ensured they had enough.

Nyeem Rosemond and Caleb Thomas started off with a tight radar and even while Dwight Thomas found the odd boundary, the North Raiders were behind the eight-ball and had a lot of catching up to do. Dane Edward couldn't contribute anything substantial although Junior Peter came out positively and added some impetus to the innings. A quiet over from Josh Cepal sent the asking rate upwards though and that made life tough for the batters.

The big shots had to come but given the high risk associated with it, the false strokes were never far away. Kurt Edward then came out firing on all cylinders and wasn't ready to bow down without a fight even as the asking rate shot up to gargantuan proportions. He struck four sixes during his stay in the middle and gave his team a ray of hope especially having begun the penultimate over with two big ones. His dismissal was the final nail in the coffin though as Eugene and Antoine Zayee held their nerve at the death and executed their plans to perfection as the Leatherbacks defend their score with ease.

The North Raiders have now lost their second game out of three and remain in seventh position on the table. They desperately need to work on a few things across departments and return to winning ways at the earliest, while the Leatherbacks, who now have four points from as many games to move into third position, will hope that this generates a good wave of momentum for them going forward.

A clinical display with the ball in hand and the Leatherbacks are home. Crucial points on the board and they will be mighty pleased with how they went about this!
