That's it from us in terms of coverage for this game. India take on South Africa on Thursday to decide who takes the trophy for this tri-series. Keep an eye on our tabs for cricketing coverage all around the globe, this great game never fails to entertain us! This is Rajarshi, signing off on behalf of myself and Pradeep. Good night!
Deepti Sharma, Player Of The Match: The captain and team management have faith on me, so I just bowl according to conditions. I practiced bowling in the powerplay, middle-overs and latter-overs, so I am used to all of it. Thanks to the support of the team management, I can bowl freely. I don't quite feel any pressure (On being an X-factor with bat or ball) I really enjoy any opportunity I get to bowl or bat at any stage.
Deepti Sharma is the Player Of The Match
Harmanpreet Kaur (India captain): We bowled well, should've done better than this, any team if you restrict under 100 is good but the quality of bowling attack we have, I would've been happier to have restricted them under 80, batting was brilliant today. It's good to have options, makes us think what's the best XI, next game is great a opportunity for us to get a settle XI into the world cup. Everyone who is getting opportunity is doing well, especially Jemi, she's opened and she's done well. For me, being there till the end is important, it always feels good to get the runs, I'm really happy that team is supportive as well.
Hayley Matthews (West Indies captain): Throughout the entire series, Connell has been consistent opening the bowling for us. Couple of U19 girls having a run which is really good to see, positive to see Zaida James to do well with the ball, some of them injured, we're hoping that they can recover well and come back soon. U19 players bring so much energy, really good to have them in the squad, have a couple of options go into the world up. Cricket is a sport and anything can happen on the day, we just have to keep taking the positives and learn from it.
Match summary: India won the toss and opted to bowl
A disciplined, controlled chase that was aced to perfection! India had a couple of jolts early on, but they rarely showed any sign of discomfort throughout! Jemimah Rodrigues will be pleased to get those runs under her belt - she's been short of runs in the recent past, but the way she handled that run-chase alongside Harmanpreet Kaur showed the signs of an experienced campaigner!
Smriti Mandhana failed to pick up from the last time she met this West Indies bowling attack, playing all around one that darted back into her from Shamilia Connell. Harleen Deol then went on to partner Rodrigues until the end of powerplay, as the latter found the gaps in the field with utmost ease and ran brilliantly between the wickets. She went on to continue doing the same batting with her skipper after Harleen left. Harmanpreet, though, wanted to get things done quicker, and so, we witnessed a few meaty blows from her as well! India were always in the run-chase, and the two of them ensured they crossed the line without any fuss!
13.5 Shabika Gajnabi to Jemimah Rodrigues, THAT'S IT! India seal the dead-rubber and will face South Africa in the finals of this Tri-Series on Thursday. Slightly short on the off-stump, Rodrigues drags it to mid-on and takes a quick single.
13.4 Shabika Gajnabi to Jemimah Rodrigues, back of a length on the fourth stump, Rodrigues cuts it away nicely but can't thread the gap, straight to backward point.
The scores are level....
13.3 Shabika Gajnabi to Jemimah Rodrigues, back of a length into Rodrigues on the off-stump, on the backfoot punched it through the covers and they come back for another couple.
13.2 Shabika Gajnabi to Harmanpreet Kaur, OH! That almost sneaks past backward point but fielder does well to dive to her left to get a hand to it. Kaur reaches for the slower one and dabs it away.
13.1 Shabika Gajnabi to Jemimah Rodrigues, back of a length on the off-stump, Rodrigues on the backfoot rides the bounce in the gap at covers for one.
India are just one big hit away from sealing the game! Harmanpreet gets a reprieve, and now, she might get a chance to connect with one better and end it herself!
