Arjun Deshwal sustained a blow to his nose after getting tackled in the first raid and didn't return until the beginning of the second half. His absence left Jaipur toothless in the raiding department, with the defense also not firing on the night.

For the Steelers, Vinay's Super 10 proved to be the difference as their lead raider kept the scoreboard ticking before getting a crucial Super Raid, making the most of some questionable decision-making from the Jaipur defense. Shivam Patare also contributed some handy raid points in the 2nd half, with utility player Naveen showcasing his value in both departments. Captain Rahul Sethpal remained on court for the entire 40 mins and held the team together well as the stand-in captain.

A win that will please Manpreet Singh and the Steelers but will send shivers down the Jaipur management's spine. Arjun Deshwal is indeed a phenomenal raider but they can't keep relying on him if they want to go the distance this season, and it'll be interesting to see how they react to this defeat.

Shivam Patare gets tackled by Ankush, but Lucky Sharma follows the raider out of bounds as he tries to complete the tackle. Abhijeet Malik steals a bonus and follows it up with a neat escape from Sanjay's dash.

Ankush initiates a challenge, but has Surjeet to thank for the tackle point as the right cover races across with a dash to send Shivam Patare back to the bench in a do-or-die raid.

Reza scores a raid point at the other end, like he did against Bengal, but Jaipur's mini-comeback is halted by another solid challenge from the right cover Sanjay, who should really be starting next match.

And this time, Shadloui gets Arjun. Haryana in complete control now as Shadloui gets his timing spot on with his ankle hold on a desperate Arjun Deshwal, getting his 2nd tackle point of the night.

He attempts an audacious advanced back hold on Arjun and almost pulls it off before Arjun regains his bearing to cross the mid-line. 

Given Haryana's lead, he'll feel he has the license to do that. Meanwhile, Arjun Deshwal claims a bonus point and it's given but Haryana review the decision and it goes their way.

Shivam Patare goes in for a do-or-die raid and comfortable escapes from Lucky Sharma's attempted tackle.

First point for Shadloui tonight as Haryana get their 2nd all-out! Neeraj has an impossible task against a Haryana defense that play a deep line and Shadloui does his confidence a huge favor, timing his diving ankle hold to perfection.

A do-or-die raid immediately follows as Neeraj Narwal is given the bonus and he settles for it. Vinay goes in looking to wipe both the Jaipur men out and register their second all-out but he can only get Surjeet Singh. He does get to his Super 10, though, and has been heads and shoulders above every other raider tonight.

The timeout comes at the right time for Jaipur, who have Neeraj Narwal as the last man standing. An all-out could well mean curtains for them.

Lucky Sharma puts in a crucial tackle for Jaipur there! It's chaos and pandemonium as Vinay pushes the Jaipur defense to the brink but despite Lucky switching positions with Reza on the left all while the raid is going on, he manages to get the ankle hold on an unsettled Vinay as they complete the Super Tackle.

However, Haryana contend that one of the Jaipur defenders step into the lobby or past the end-line without a touch and review.

Considering that they were scampering, it could very well be possible. Replays show that Reza goes very close to stepping into the lobby but his foot does seem to be on the line. This is a matter of centimetres! Huge decision this for the TV umpire.

And Haryana get their way. This will be contentious. Reza is adjudged to have stepped into the lobby, and Haryana use the review really well.

Arjun Deshwal is really confident he gets a touch on the retreating Shadloui before stepping into the lobby but it's not given and he reviews.

Wait, this is interesting, Arjun goes really close to the mid-line and he might have crossed it and the raid simply ends if that's the case. The actual touch itself looks pretty close, but there doesn't seem to be any conclusive evidence for the TV umpire to overturn the on-field call.

The review is unsuccessful, and a point each is awarded as Shadloui also goes into the lobby without a touch.

What a raid that is! Shivam Patare, you beauty! A crucial two-point raid from Shivam Patare, who escapes brilliantly in a do-or-die raid, refusing to die down from Ankush's challenge, also escaping from Abhijeet Malik's attempt.

Arjun opens his account with a bonus point right under Shadloui's nose, and that is a reflection of the Iranian's confidence tonight.

It's Vinay, Naveen, and the well-drilled Haryana defense that are the heroes so far as they've made the most of Arjun's absence to take a solid 9-point lead into half-time, although Jaipur have themselves to blame for that. While they defended well and remained within touching distance of Haryana, a collective brain-fade during Vinay's raid cost them three points and led to the all-out as they imploded.

With Arjun seemingly recovered from a knock he received on the nose, it'll be interesting to see if he'll be passed fit to play and the impact he can create in this contest. An exciting 2nd half coming right up!

With only two on the mat, Vinay cleans them up on his next raid as the Steelers get their first all-out.

The onslaught continues as Rahul Sethpal claims his 2nd tackle point of the night on Shrikant Jadhav, who looks like he could use some time on the bench to simply rest.

Shrikant Jadhav's wretched evening continues as Naveen executes a sliding toe touch that's honestly too good for even the best of defenders.

However, Abhijeet Malik impresses down the other end, and guess what, he gets Shadloui once again as he anticipates the ankle hold, and escapes before the Iranian can complete the challenge.

Ohh, huge moment in this game that! Vinay gets a running hand touch on Lucky Sharma on the right corner, but Reza Mirbagheri knows he's late on the dash but nevertheless commits to it, converting it into a multi-point raid.

Neeraj Narwal, the raider is subbed on for Jaipur, and that all but confirms that the injury to Arjun could be a serious one, and it's unlikely we see him return in this match.

Shrikant Jadhav really looking bereft of confidence and speed on the mat, and against a well-drilled Haryana defense, there's not much he can do. He tries to force the issue but steps into the lobby without getting a touch.

Haryana adds to their tally with a bonus point before Abhijeet Malik draws the dash from N Manikandan and escapes with a point as the whistle blows for the timeout.

Advantage Haryana certainly because of Arjun's potential niggle as their raiding unit is arguably better than Jaipur when they don't have Arjun. With Shadloui marshalling their defense, they'll back themselves to extend this lead, but the Jaipur defense has held strong so far.
