The first half saw Gujarat Giants dominate proceedings. Guman Singh and co. did a fine job throughout the game and while they weren't able to chip in at regular basis, they did a great job in defence where they managed to pull off Super Tackles with Neeraj Kumar accumulating four points.

As for the Patna Pirates, Ayan and Devank were at the centre of all action taking place as they managed to chip in with points at regular intervals. In the defence, Navdeep and Deepak combined picked up six points but will be disappointed with giving away some petty points away.

40' Guman with the raid but is successfully tackled by the right cover. He reviews and it is unsuccessful. Sudhakar gets a slap and manages to get a touch point. Deepak with an early tackle and is sent off the mat by Rakesh.

12' Ayan draws Himanshu into putting a tackle but then he escapes and gets home safe. Ayan yet again but this time, the jump doesn't allow him to get back home safely.

10' Sudhakar with the raid and despite a dash, he manages to get his hands past the midline. Devank goes for the raid and is held by the Giants defence. Guman Singh with another raid and an ankle hold from Navdeep sends him off the mat. Time for a little break

8' An attempted dubki from Ayan but a double thigh hold ensures he is off the mat. A rushed back hold from the man at right corner but Guman manages to go past the mid line.

6' Deepak is caught napping and a toe touch from Guman does the trick. Sudhakar goes for the raid, gets a bonus but fails to escape the Giants defence, rendering the Pirates ALL OUT!

4' Ayan with the bonus and uses his strength to escape from Neeraj Kumar. SUPER RAID! Guman Singh puts in a dubki and sends three Pirates players off the mat. Ayan loses his footing and the ankle hold is enough to get him off the mat

2' Devank with the first raid of the game and picks up a bonus point and gets back safe. Poor from Neeraj Kumar to go early with the dash and Guman Singh manages to get his hands past the mid-line. 

Devank deceives the left corner with a kick, managing to get a touch off him and gets his hands past the mid line. The officials say Devank is self out and he has his left hand out of bounds. Point to Gujarat Giants

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda’s live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League 2024. The first match of the night will witness the Patna Pirates taking on the Gujarat Giants at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune. 

The Patna Pirates have had a successful season and have comfortably qualified for the playoffs. However, they will be eyeing a semifinal spot and a win tonight can get them close to it. A win by more than a margin of 3 points will witness them go to the top of the table and greatly boost their chances of booking a semifinal spot. Expect no mercy from Devank and Ayan as they look to put in a better performance after their loss to U Mumba in the preview encounter. 

The Gujarat Giants, on the other hand, have been eliminated since quite a while now and are playing for pride. Their raiding trio hasn’t fired while their defense has leaked points. It will be an uphill task but all the teams eyeing a top 2 finish will be backing the Giants to pull off something spectacular tonight.
