The second-half scorecard reads Patna Pirates 26 - 10 Jaipur Pink Panthers, and that was the story of this match. Both defenses were on top in a largely cagey first half, with Arjun Deshwal's raid points helping Jaipur inflict an all-out.

However, Patna was on it right from the very first raid of the second half, and a terrific outing from both their raiders and the defense saw them lord over a hapless Jaipur side. Devank toyed with the Jaipur defense, securing another Super 10, while Ayan got past his points drought, securing some vital points in the second half.

Lots of credit should also be given to the Patna defense, with Ankit and Deepak Singh both securing High 5s, Shubham Shinde also providing much-needed support to the defense.

With that win, Patna move back to 2nd on the points table, further consolidating their place in the top half, while Jaipur suffers a real blow to their playoffs hopes, making things tougher for them in their final five matches of the season.

A well-deserved High 5 for Deepak Singh, who gets his timing spot-on once again with his challenge on Neeraj Narwal, as Jaipur's chances of taking anything from this match keeps reducing.

Arjun Deshwal chips away at it as Deepak errs with an ill-advised advance tackle attempt.

However, the Patna raiding unit continues to strike in this second half, and it's Ayan who continues to build his confidence, this time getting the running hand touch on the left cover.

Arjun gets a quick bonus point, but it's not enough to secure a point for them tonight, and rather fittingly, it's another unsuccessful tackle that concludes this game for Jaipur, with Ayan getting away well from Ankush.

The Patna Pirates ride on the back of an outstanding second-half performance to register a resounding win over the Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Ankush, who started this game brilliantly, has struggled since, and his latest ankle hold attempt proves unsuccessful, as Devank continues to pillage points for the Pirates.

Neeraj Narwal gets away well from Shubham Shinde's attempted challenge, but no matter what they try, their defense, which looked rock-solid in the first half, have simply been unable to handle Devank!

Devank just keeps probing and probing, eventually drawing the error from the right corner.

Patna claim their second all-out of the match, and it's Shubham Shinde who gets a deserved tackle point to complete this turnaround for the Pirates! Jaipur needs a miracle to stay in this match here!

Deepak Singh is a beast in defense for the Pirates, and it's his diving waist hold that completely immobilizes Arjun Deshwal as the Pirates reduce Jaipur to three. Fourth of the night for Deepak!

Devank gets to his Super 10 with the easiest of points as Jaipur continue to crumble, with the substitute defender going in with an unnecessary and mistimed ankle hold attempt.

Shrikant Jadhav, the substitute can manage only a bonus point, but Devank strikes in his next raid, claiming a touch on Shrikant. The veteran is confident there was no touch and reviews the call.

Ohh, poor review. Maybe he didn't feel it but that was a clear touch on the shorts of the raider from Devank.

High 5 for Ankit as the left corner comes in with a powerful block once again, but credit to Shubham Shinde for his assist, cutting off any possible angle of escape for the raider.

Ayan slowly continues to build up confidence, scoring a crucial point against a 5-man Jaipur defense, leaping over Reza's attempted challenge.

Ayan joins the party for the Pirates, accelerating well to catch Ankush off-guard with a running hand touch. Neeraj Narwal finally gets a touch point tonight, and it's the faintest of running hand touches in a do-or-die raid situation for the left raider.

Devank goes a bit too deep in the final raid before the timeout, and is surrounded by the Jaipur defense with little chance of escape, with Lucky Sharma coming around with the block.

Patna have ruled the roost in this 2nd half, but Jaipur did well to generate some much-needed momentum before the break? What do these final ten minutes have in store for us?

Deepak Singh has been really good for the Pirates all season, and he strikes once again with a solid knee hold on Arjun Deshwal to score his 3rd tackle point of the night.

At the other end, Devank is unstoppable, and he continues to lord the battle over Surjeet Singh, getting the running hand touch once again.

Devank reduces Jaipur to one, executing a terrific kick on Reza Mirbagheri, and Neeraj Narwal, who has had a poor outing so far, is met with a mighty block from Ankush as the Pirates get their first all-out, completing the turnaround and taking the lead for the first time tonight.

A mistimed challenge from Lucky Sharma sees Ayan Lohchab score his first point after an eternity. He'll be mighty relieved after that, the Patna starlet.

Ohh, confident dash that from Arkam Shaikh on Vikash Khandola in a do-or-die raid. A fraction of a second late, and that could've gone awry, but it was pitch-perfect from the Patna left cover.

With Jaipur down to three, Devank eyes an all-out and does his part in that, isolating Surjeet Singh and working him really well to secure another raid point.

2nd Half, 22'
Patna Pirates 14 - 18 Jaipur Pink Panthers

Terrific start from the Patna defense to begin this second half, and it's Shubham Shinde who comes to their rescue. Deepak Singh goes for a dash on Arjun, but after he's brushed aside, it's terrific anticipation from Shubham to provide the necessary support to send the raid machine to the bench. Won't show up in the stats, but vital contributions these!

At the other end, Devank executes a sharp kick on an unsuspecting Ankush.

Patna Pirates 12 - 18 Jaipur Pink Panthers

Jaipur complete the all-out in the final raid of the half, and you have to say it's well-deserved. Patna are down to two, and with Devank only able to manage a bonus point, Arjun easily isolates one defender and tags him, reducing Patna to one.

Devank tries his best, but is met by a solid dash from Surjeet Singh (although he might've stepped out of bounds even before the tackle came in) as the whistle blows for half-time, with the all-out giving Jaipur a six-point lead.

How will Patna respond? Can they break past this confident and solid Jaipur defensive unit while managing to keep Arjun Deshwal quiet? Don't go anywhere as all these questions and more will be answered in what should be an exciting second half.

Arjun Deshwal has gotten going now, putting in a terrific running hand touch on Deepak Singh. Devank goes in for the Pirates, drawing a weak ankle hold from Ankush, and getting away from it with ease.

Arjun forces the Patna defense into making plenty of errors here. It's a 4-man defense for Patna, and Arjun's pace and intensity causes not one but two defenders to step out of bounds, as Jaipur push for an all-out here.

Both teams play on the do-or-die raid once more, and it's a poor advance tackle attempt from Thiyagarajan Yuvaraj that gifts a point away to Vikash Khandola.

Devank goes in for a do-or-die raid, and he gets the simplest of bonus points to walk away with an easy point.

Arjun breaks the chain of do-or-die raids, expertly putting the defense exactly where he wants them, and manufacturing a slight hand touch on Ankit in the Patna left corner. 

With Jaipur having six on the mat again, Devank hits back for Patna, maneuvering the defense really well, and getting the running hand touch on Surjeet Singh.

The game slows down once more as both teams have only five men on the mat as they use the do-or-die raid strategy to good effect.

It's Jaipur's turn first and Neeraj Narwal has no chance against another solid tackle from Patna's left corner Ankit, who's up to three for the night. However, the Jaipur defense strikes back courtesy a well-timed Reza Mirbagheri ankle hold on Sudhakar M, and we're back to putting in empty raids.

Vikash Khandola is dashed out by Deepak Singh in a do-or-die raid, but the referees adjudge that the right cover also followed him out of the mat, awarding a point each to the teams.

Jaipur review, claiming a bonus point, and replays suggest that it's a clear bonus, and it's successfully overturned for Jaipur.

Ayan is tackled once again, this time by a solid thigh hold from Surjeet Singh, right on the stroke of the first timeout. A two-point lead for Jaipur in a really tight contest so far.

The Patna defense hit back as this game begins to take a familiar defense-first approach as Ankit pounces with a diving ankle hold to send Arjun Deshwal to the bench.

Patna brings Sudhakar M on for a raiding presence, and he looks to have broken this game open! It's a do-or-die raid for the left raider, and he's subject to a decent tackle attempt from the left-in, but he springs out of that challenge, also tagging Lucky Sharma en route to the mid-line.

Ohh, Devank's second stint on the mat doesn't last long as he's thrown into a do-or-die raid against a high-flying Jaipur defense, and it's Ankush once again who blindsides the Patna raider with a pacy block-dash that does him in completely.

Patna Pirates 2 - 4 Jaipur Pink Panthers

Ayan's struggles continue as Patna's left raider succumbs to another solid chain tackle from Ankush, with Ayan joining his raiding partner Devank on the bench.

Patna is down to four and play on the do-or-die raid. Neeraj Narwal comes in for Jaipur, and a confident challenge from the Patna captain Ankit, aided by some good support, helps them keep Neeraj down, and more importantly, revive Devank!

Patna Pirates 1 - 3 Jaipur Pink Panthers

The defense strikes first as the Jaipur Pink Panthers carry their confidence from their last outing into this one as Devank is sent to the bench courtesy a well-timed ankle hold from Ankush. Devank got the bonus point, though, so the Pirates have opened their account as well.

Arjun Deshwal strides in with purpose for Jaipur, getting the bonus on the run in between the covers and the left chain. He follows it up with a running hand touch on Shubham Shinde in his next raid.

Both teams make their way onto the mat, and it's Jaipur who enter first, followed by the Pirates.
