Tamil Thalaivas 34 - 35 Telugu Titans

Back-to-back wins for the Telugu Titans, but an inspired Sachin Tanwar really pushed them to their brink tonight.

It was a one-man show from Sachin Tanwar for the Thalaivas who scored 17 raid points, half of their points total, all by himself. With Narender off-colour and the defense in awful form, he did all the heavy lifting to keep them in the game, but it was a few defensive errors at the end that eventually cost them the win.

But credit where it's due to a resurgent and disciplined Telugu Titans team, who were much better than the Thalaivas as a unit. They troubled the Thalaivas with their tackling, both covers contributing five tackle points to the tally, with four more crucial points coming in from the rest of the unit. In the raiding department, Ashish Narwal was a headache for the Thalaivas' defense, who had no answers to his pace and guile for most of the match, with Pawan Sehrawat displaying great form as well.

The captain led from the front, scoring 11 raid points, and it may well be his Super Raid late in the 2nd half that turned this in their favor!

That brings to an end a wonderful Wednesday for Kabaddi as we were treated to two cliff-hangers, first by the Pirates and U Mumba, and now in this Southern Derby! Join us again tomorrow as I, Shreyas, bid you adieu! Good Night!
2nd Half, 40'
Tamil Thalaivas 34 - 35 Telugu Titans

Sachin Tanwar has been outstanding tonight and in a 1v5 situation, he manufactures a point out of nothing, drawing the advanced tackle from Krishan Dhull, leaping away to the mid-line.

Pawan dissuades the chances of a Thalaivas' comeback, targeting Chandran Ranjit with the running hand touch and nailing it.

Sachin keeps them in this though with a carbon copy of the previous raid, this time Sagar Sethpal the culprit!

With a 1-point deficit to wipe out, Sachin Tanwar has it all to do in the Thalaivas' final raid of the match, but after making five unsuccessful tackles, Ankit gets his ankle hold right when it most matters and that should be that for the Titans!

Vijay Malik doesn't cross the baulk line in the last raid and gives away a point, but it doesn't matter as the Telugu Titans triumph in an absolute nail-biter of a Southern Derby! What a match! What a win!
This time, coach Cheralathan instructs his team not to give up a bonus point at any cost.
2nd Half, 38'
Tamil Thalaivas 31 - 33 Telugu Titans

Ooh, the Thalaivas are definitely back in this! Sachin has had the beating of Ankit in that left corner all night and this raid is no different. At the other end, Vijay Malik is tackled by Amirhossein Bastami, and that could prove to be huge for the Thalaivas!

The Thalaivas call for a timeout now.
2nd Half, 36'
Tamil Thalaivas 29 - 33 Telugu Titans

Vijay Malik has a do-or-die raid, and despite Amirhossein Bastami's impatience, the Thalaivas manage to get the tackle point, Sahil Gulia opening his account for the night.

At the other end, Chandran Ranjit is caught napping, and his slowness on the turn is capitalized by Pawan Sehrawat who races across with a monstrous dash, also receiving a green card for holding the neck.

He won't mind that though.
With both their lead raiders on the bench, the Thalaivas bring on the experienced Chandran Ranjit to make something happen.
2nd Half, 34'
Tamil Thalaivas 28 - 32 Telugu Titans

Sachin Tanwar is tackled by another well-timed challenge from Sagar Sethpal, who has been clinical tonight! Narender tries to revive his raiding partner, but the Titans' defense strikes!

They've clearly been the better defense tonight and show why with Ajit Pawar, deputizing in the right corner, putting in a hefty block-hold on Narender.

The Titans call for a timeout with a 4-point lead in their hands.
2nd Half, 32'
Tamil Thalaivas 28 - 30 Telugu Titans

Sachin Tanwar you beauty! This man is the perfect mix of physique, power, and pace, and all those attributes are in full display as he races across to the right side, attempts a bonus, and dodges not one but two challenges on the way to the mid-line! In a do-or-die raid no less.

At the other end, Pawan Sehrawat retains his cool and gets the bonus point in his do-or-die raid, also claiming a Super 10 in the process.
The bonus points will be the key for the Thalaivas in chipping away at this Titans' lead, and that's one of a few instructions Coach Dharmaraj Cheralathan gives his team.

Narender Kandola is also subbed on for the final ten minutes. Will the break serve the young raider well?
2nd Half, 30'
Tamil Thalaivas 26 - 29 Telugu Titans

Sachin Tanwar has been superb for the Thalaivas throughout this match, and he scores his 12th raid point, this time getting a running hand touch on the dangerous Ashish Narwal.

Just when the Thalaivas think they have wrested some control in this match, the Hi-Flyer brings down the roof here at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium!

The Titans' captain's skills in full flow, as he gets the bonus point without any fuss, then glides across the mat, makes space for himself between the two cover defenders and makes it to the mid-line to complete a Super Raid.

As the whistle blows for the timeout, it's a 3-point lead for the Titans who have all the momentum on their side ahead of the final 10 minutes!
2nd Half, 28'
Tamil Thalaivas 25 - 26 Telugu Titans

It didn't look the most convincing tackle, but finally Ashish Narwal is kept down and the Thalaivas get the all-out!
Amirhossein Bastami's attempted challenge sees Ashish trying to slip away by trying to roll away with a change of direction, but the support comes in at the right time.

At the other end, though, Masanamuthu is sent back to the bench immediately after the all-out as Sagar Sethpal goes in with a rock-solid block. Vijay Malik then gets a handy bonus point to put the Titans back in the lead.
2nd Half, 26'
Tamil Thalaivas 21 - 23 Telugu Titans

Ashish Narwal gets a useful bonus point for the Titans, but it seems more like delaying the inevitable as Sachin has easy pickings in a 1v2 situation.

Ashish is the last man standing for the Titans and like he has done throughout the night, he has confounded this Thalaivas defense. They offer him the easy bonus and he takes it before tempting Amirhossein Bastami, outsmarting him with his quick feet and getting the touch on him.

Sachin gives the Thalaivas the advantage again with an easy point against Ankit in a 1v2, but they have to deal with Ashish once again now!
2nd Half, 24'
Tamil Thalaivas 20 - 20 Telugu Titans

Is this the start of a comeback for the Thalaivas? After Sachin's successful raid, Pawan has to deal with a do-or-die raid himself but runs into trouble against the ankle hold specialist Nitesh Kumar in that left-in position, who puts in another solid challenge that proves too much for the Titans' captain.

Pawan challenges for a bonus point and seems very confident, but he appears to have cut the line, and the review is unsuccessful.

Masanamuthu shows why he's on the mat, using his burst of pace to get a running hand touch on a hapless Krishan Dhull to bring the scores level!

The Titans are down to two now and the Thalaivas smell blood.
2nd Half, 22'
Tamil Thalaivas 18 - 20 Telugu Titans

Both teams continue to play on the do-or-die raid, and it's Sachin Tanwar who has to deal with one first, and against a 5-man defense, it's not going to be easy.

Sachin is adamant he gets a diving hand touch on the foot of right cover Sagar, who was off-balance, and with the point not given, he reviews.

The zoom on the cameras work in overdrive to prove Sachin right!

Great review from Sachin and a big point for his side!
FYI, Narender has been subbed off for Masanamuthu, with the former not in good form tonight. His services might be required later on in the match though.
Half-Time
Tamil Thalaivas 17 - 20 Telugu Titans

The Thalaivas should consider themselves lucky that the deficit is only three points at half-time. Their defending has been atrocious, and while credit needs to be given to Ashish Narwal and Pawan Sehrawat, who have been a real handful to deal with, the amount of points the Thalaivas' defense gifted to them is almost criminal.

It's a one-man show from Sachin Tanwar and a few handy bonus points that have kept them in this match, with Sachin already up to eight points for the night.

Both teams have pulled off some memorable comebacks already in PKL 11, and based on what we've seen so far, we can expect plenty of twists and turns in what's set to be a rollercoaster of a 2nd half. The Thalaivas will raid first in the 2nd half.

Who'll come up trumps? Let's find out in the final 20!
1st Half, 20'
Tamil Thalaivas 17 - 20 Telugu Titans

Both teams content to put in empty raids to close this half out and as we reach half-time, it's the Titans who hold a 3-point lead at half-time as the Thalaivas desperately cling on? Which way will this Southern Derby go?
1st Half, 19'
Tamil Thalaivas 17 - 20 Telugu Titans

Another do-or-die raid beckons for Sachin Tanwar and this time, the do-or-die specialist delivers! He goes in with purpose and pace, drawing the error from Ankit Jaglan and bringing the Thalaivas back into it.

The Thalaivas have another excellent defensive situation in a do-or-die raid against Ashish Narwal, but Abishek is the culprit once again for them. Although, that running hand touch may well be due to Ashish Narwal's speed and agility than an error from the right cover.

As has been throughout this game, Sachin brings the Thalaivas back into it almost instantly, anticipating the challenge from the left corner Vijay Malik, and easily riding it to the mid-line.
1st Half, 16'
Tamil Thalaivas 15 - 19 Telugu Titans

Huge challenge that from Krishan Dhull!
The right corner puts in a well-timed ankle hold that has the better of Narender, who has looked off-colour all game.

Pawan Sehrawat is then gifted another point by the under-pressure Thalaivas' defense and it's the captain Sahil who errs this time around.

With the Thalaivas down to three, Pawan eyes another all-out, but not this time says Nitesh Kumar! His double ankle hold is enough to unsettle Pawan, with Amirhossein Bastami offering very good support from that right corner as they get a Super Tackle.
1st Half, 14'
Tamil Thalaivas 13 - 17 Telugu Titans

As the Titans are reduced to five, they smartly play on the do-or-die raid and the strategy works. Partly.

Sachin Tanwar is unable to get a point in his raid as Ashish Narwal makes no mistake with a well-timed diving challenge, but Ankit from the left corner goes out of bounds with his dash.

At the other end, Ashish has a do-or-die raid himself, but Abishek doesn't exercise patience, gifting a point to the Titans' raider.
1st Half, 12'
Tamil Thalaivas 12 - 15 Telugu Titans

Pawan Sehrawat is operating on another level this season, and his confidence is showing as he bulldozes past an attempted block from the right corner Amirhossein Bastami.

Narender gets his first touch point of the match, making the most of a weak challenge from Ajit Pawar.

Finally the Thalaivas get Pawan Sehrawat, and it's the razor-sharp instincts of Nitesh Kumar in the left-in they need to thank. His timing on those diving ankle holds are pristine and he puts in another one of those challengers to support Abishek's attempted dash to send the opposition captain back to the bench.
1st Half, 10'
Tamil Thalaivas 10 - 14 Telugu Titans

He was the most expensive player at the auction and he shows why! That's a huge Super Raid from Sachin Tanwar, who picks up three touch points to bring the Thalaivas within touching distance of the Titans.

He uses his huge explosive lower bidy strength to pivot from his bonus attempt on the left corner, getting the two corners and the left-in who comes in for support.

However, their momentum is short-lived as the Titans hit back with two quick points before the timeout. First, Vijay Malik capitalizes on another needless advance tackle from Anuj Gawade before the Titans' right cover Sagar Sethpal comes in with a timely knee hold to root Sachin Tanwar to the spot as the whistle blows for the timeout.

An exciting and fast-paced game this. Will the Titans build on their lead or will the Thalaivas hit back?
1st Half, 8'
Tamil Thalaivas 7 - 12 Telugu Titans

And they get the all-out in a flash! Some start this from the Telugu Titans! Sachin Tanwar is unable to get more than a bonus and with the Thalaivas down to two, Pawan makes light work of the two substitute defenders on the mat, and this is a well-deserved 4-point lead for a Titans team that has been on top!

Okay, what was that from Anuj Gawade in the left cover? His indecisiveness means he pretty much offers a free point to Pawan Sehrawat, who's not gonna say no!
1st Half, 6'
Tamil Thalaivas 6 - 7 Telugu Titans

Ashish Narwal has really stepped up for the Titans in Pawan's absence and he does it again, using his acceleration to great effect to get the running hand touch on a retreating Nitesh. Bonus points from Sachin and Narender keep the Thalaivas in the match, but Pawan's sly back-kick on Narender reduces Patna to three, and that brings trouble.

Pawan goes in during the 1v3 situation, and while the Thalaivas get the tackle on him, Sahil Gulia in the left corner stepped out of bounds, resulting in an easy point for Pawan.

Thalaivas down to two now!
1st Half, 4'
Tamil Thalaivas 4 - 4 Telugu Titans

The Titans' raiders deliver in back-to-back raiders, and it's not Pawan Sehrawat who does so! Vijay Malik gets Amirhossein Bastami with a simple extension of his arm before Ashish Narwal nails the running hand touch on the right cover.

Sachin brings the Thalaivas level with a multi-point raid, getting the bonus point, also forcing the error from Krishan Dhull, who steps into the lobby.
1st Half, 2'
Tamil Thalaivas 2 - 2 Telugu Titans

Pawan starts off with an empty raid, but at the other end, Narender Kandola gives the referees a really hard task as he almost gets past the mid-line with a multi-point raid.

However, he's adjudged to have missed out by a whisker, and while he gets the bonus, Vijay Malik takes the tackle point diving in from that right-in position.

In the very next raid, Abishek, who is quite prone to error, doesn't err this time around, times his dash to perfection on Pawan. However, the Titans hit back immediately as Ajit Pawar puts in an immense dash on Narender, sending the Thalaivas' raider back to the bench for the second time in as many raids.

Defenses on top in the first couple of minutes here.
We're all set for live action! Pawan Sehrawat will start things off for the Titans.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's coverage of the 11th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. We have lined up for you a fiesty Southern Derby here at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, as the hosts Telugu Titans take on the Tamil Thalaivas.

The Titans come into this match on the back of a 38-35 win over the Bengaluru Bulls. With three wins in six matches, this start to the season is much better than the one they had last time around, and with Pawan Sehrawat in top form, they'll back themselves to get one over their Southern rivals, and if the result goes their way, it will be a huge moment in their season.

The Thalaivas are 2nd on the points table as it stands, and while that could change based on the result of the ongoing match between U Mumba and the Patna Pirates, it shows how good they've been so far. They had an off-day the last time they took to the mat against the Bengaluru Bulls, losing 32-36 to them.

The last time these sides met earlier this season, the Thalaivas registered a dominant 44-29 win. Can the Titans take revenge or will Sahil Gulia and Co. make it two in two? We'll find out in a short while. So strap in, sit back, and relax, as we take you through all the action that unfolds.
