FULL TIME! Haryana Steelers 30- 28 UP Yoddhas

Phew!! That was an incredibly exhilarating second half as the pendulum swung from one end to the other. Credit to the Haryana Steelers though! They never lost the advantage and didn't concede the lead. In the end, they prevailed in the battle of nerves with a strong showing. 

It was a night where the raiders had a really tough time with a success rate of 26%. Both sides had a host of empty raids to their name. The UP Yoddhas struggled to get the points as Gill was off form early on. However once Gagan Gowda came in, he put on a show as he got 9 points. 6 touch points and three bonus points were in store for him. Bharat Hooda too was good for the Yoddhas as he had five points to his name. 

The Star of the night was Sanjay for the Haryana Steelers as he got six tackle points. In a game where defenders ruled supreme, Sanjay's effort were the key to a great win for the Haryana Steelers. However, the two raiders, Vinay and Shivam Patare also did a really good job as they got eight and five raid points respectively. Iranian star Shadloui was under the radar tonight but he struggled. He got just a couple of points, one in both raid and tackle. 

Overall it has been an excellent game of Kabaddi. Haryana Steelers were comfortably in the lead in the first half but the UP Yoddhas pushed them close. If the first half was about Sanjay and his tackles, then the second half was surely about Gagan Gowda who came in from the bench to get his side back into the contest. He got a back kick to push out Shadloui and it was a stunning piece of work. Unfortunately though, his side was on the wrong side of the results as the lack of Tackle points, turned to be the main difference. 

Final Score- Haryana Steelers 30- 28 UP Yoddhas

It has been a really close contest but the Haryana Steelers have held on to their nerves and in the end they clinch this game with a couple of points in difference. The Yoddhas pushed them close but couldn't get over the line. 

Second Half ' 20

Haryana Steelers 30- 28 UP Yoddhas

Gagan Gowda finally had the first unsuccessful raid of the night as he was tackled by Jaideep. Shadloui was up next and he succumbed to the pressure as Steelers lost him. Sumit Sangwan tackled him. 

Gagan Gowda was also tackled down by Rahul. Vinay had an empty raid next as the difference was three points between the two sides heading into the final one minute. 

Bharat Hooda tried to go for a raid next and Rahul took him down. It extended the lead to four points for the Haryana Steelers. Vinay had an unsuccessful raid but the Steelers didn't mind. Gagan Gowda picked up a couple of raid points to close the gap but the Steelers had the advantage. Vinay was tackled in the do-or-die raid but not before he picked up the bonus point to close out the game for his side. 

Second Half '18 

Haryana Steelers 26 - 24 UP Yoddhas

Gagan Gowda got the point as he took out Jaideep to notch his 7th raid point. Shivam Patare immediately took the point as the five point lead continued for the Haryana Steelers. It led to the final time out in the game. 

Gagan Gowda continued his carnage as he took out Sanjay with a hand touch. Shivam Patare was tackled by Bharat Hooda who did the ankle hold. It meant that the Yoddhas inched close. Steelers went for a review but it was unsuccessful. 

Gagan Gowda got another lightening quick hand touch and followed it with a roll back to get inside the line. He took out Naveen and closed the gap further. Vinay had an empty raid for the Haryana Steelers. It led to a time out heading into the final two minutes. 

Second Half ' 15

Haryana Steelers 25 - 20 UP Yoddhas

Shivam Patare came in for the raid for the Steelers post the time out and he got the touch on Hitesh. Surinder Gill came in as a Ashu Singh was benched by the Yoddhas. It didn't work though as Gill got an empty raid. 

Vinay got another successful raid as Mohammadreza failed to inflict a tackle via ankle hold. We were staring at an all-out but Gagan Gowda picked up a touch point for the Yoddhas. Vinay took out Bharat and it was a chance for an all-out again for the Steelers. 

Gagan Gowda was tackled hard by Sanjay but he got inside the line. The UP Yoddhas inflicted the super tackle as Vinay was taken down by Sumit Sangwan and Gagan Gowda. But hang on, Haryana get a bonus point and Sumit Sangwan has to go out. Gagan Gowda was tackled down next by Shadloui. It meant the UP Yoddhas suffered the first all out in the game. 

Second Half ' 10

Haryana Steelers 17- 13 UP Yoddhas

Vinay went in for a do-or-die raid for the Haryana Steelers and he was tackled by Sahul Kumar. Bharat Hooda was taken down by Naveen as the gap increased for the Steelers.

A series of empty raids was finally broken by Shivam Patare as he picked up a point for the Haryana Steelers with a flying hand touch. However the UP side reviewed it. It wasn't successful though and the raid points stood for the Steelers who picked up two points as Sumit and Mahender had to go out.

UP Yoddhas made a change as GAGAN GOWDA came in for Ashu Singh! Vinay had an empty raid and it was followed by Gagan Gowda who took out Shadloui in the do-or-die raid. Shivam Patare had an empty raid for the Steelers. Gagan Gowda failed in his second attempt. The Steelers had Vinay in for the do-or-die raid and he took out Sahul with the flying touch. 

Second Half ' 5 

Haryana Steelers 13-10 UP Yoddhas

Bhavani Rajput opened the second half for the UP Yoddhas with a couple of empty raids. Naveen tried his luck for the Steelers but he was unsuccessful too. Bhavani Rajput was up next and he picked up one point as the back kick worked for him sending out Jaideep. 

Vinay had an unsuccessful raid next for the Yoddhas as he struggled to penetrate through the defense. However he bounced back to pick up a bonus point in his next raid. Bhavani's confidence wasn't there and he didn't take the risks. 

Bhavani went in for a do-or-die raid for the UP Yoddhas and he was tackled with a DASH by Rahul who came in from the right corner. Naveen and Sahul Kumar also had a couple of empty raids next. 

First Half - Haryana Steelers 11- 9 UP Yoddhas

It has been a superb first half where both the defenses held on to their own and Haryana Steelers are just marginally ahead at the end of it. They were ahead with the tackles and even had one super tackle. Sanjay was incredible for them as he mustered up the most tackle points at 6. The raiders struggled and for the Yoddhas it has been Bharat with the most points. Vinay got three raid points while Shivam Patare also had a point to his name. 

First Half ' 20

Haryana Steelers 11-  9 UP Yoddhas 

Surinder Gill had an empty raid for the Yoddhas and Vinay went in for the do-or-die raid for the Steelers. He took down Sumit. Bharat was up next and he got a touch on Shadloui. 

Shivam Patare had an empty raid for the Steelers as did Bharat who struggled to get the raid points. The series of empty raids continued with Naveen and Bharat also failing to notch up the points. 

Vinay went in for the do-or-die raid and he was tackled by the Iranian defender Mohammadreza. Bharat went in for the do-or-die raid for the UP Yoddhas and once again it was the rock, Sanjay who tackled him. 

With just one minute to go in the first half both sides had a couple of empty raids as Naveen and Bhavani couldn't get any point. The first half came to an end with Bhavani Rajput's empty raid. 

First Half ' 15

Haryana Steelers 9- 7 UP Yoddhas

Naveen had an empty raid and it resulted in the first Strategic Time-Out of the game. Bharat went in for the raid and he was tackled by Sanjay. It was a super tackle for the Steelers. 

Naveen once again had an empty raid for the Yoddhas. Surinder Gill went in next and his empty raid meant a do-or-die raid for Vinay. He took out Ashu Singh with a running hand touch. 

Bhavani Rajput had another empty raid and it was followed in by the empty raid of Naveen. Bhavani found himself in a tough situation in the do-or-die raid and he was blocked by Sanjay. Naveen had another empty raid and the score was 9 for the Steelers. 

First Half ' 10

Haryana Steelers 5- 6 UP Yoddhas 

Surinder Gill had an empty raid for the Yoddhas but Shivam Patare got a successful raid for the Haryana Steelers as he took out Mahender Singh with a hand touch. Gill struggled with the raids and the defense was resolute from Haryana Steelers. He was tackled by Naveen in a do-or-die raid. 

Vinay had an empty raid for the Haryana Steelers as the Yoddhas let go of a super tackle chance. A couple of empty raids meant that Vinay had to go in for the do-or-die raid and he was chain tackled by Ashu Singh. 

Bharat got the super raid for the UP Yoddhas and he took down three players in Rahul, Shadloui and Shivam Patare. He just got his feet over the touch line. 

First Half ' 5

Haryana Steelers 2 - 1 UP Yoddhas

Surinder Gill and both Shivam Patare had a couple of empty raids to begin the game and it became a do or die raid for the Haryana Steelers. Bharat picked up the points for them to get them in the lead. 

Naveen came in next for the UP Yoddhas and he couldn't succeed in his attempt to fetch a point via a back kick. Gill was back for the raid and he returned empty handed too as we saw a lot of empty raids in the first few minutes. 

Shivam Patare was taken down by a block from the UP Yoddhas defense and they went up by one point. 

Right, the players are out in the mat and we are all set for the live action!!

Hello and Welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of this Pro Kabaddi League 2024 game between the UP Yoddhas and the Haryana Steelers. Taking you through this game will be myself, Soumarya Dutta. 

It's time for the second game of the night and it will  be the UP Yoddhas taking on their neighbors Haryana Steelers. Both these sides have had a similar trajectory to their campaign thus far although the UP Yoddhas do find themselves at the top of the table as they're in the number 2 position. 

The  UP Yoddhas kick started their campaign by getting the better of Dabang Delhi in their very first game and humbled the Bengaluru Bulls in their next game. They did come short against the Bengal Warriorz but bounced back against Gujarat. In their skipper Surender Gill they have a superb raider and he will be ably assisted by the Iranian Heidarali Ekrami. The likes of Sumit Sangwan and Mahender Singh will be in charge of their defense. 

The Haryana Steelers on the other hand began their campaign with a loss against Puneri Paltan but they did really well to win back to back matches against Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dabang Delhi. Their star all-rounder from Iran, Mohammedreza Shadloui will be their key player while the likes of Vinay Tewatiya and Anil Patare will complete the raiding stock. The likes of Jaideep Dahiya and Sanjay Dhull will also play a key part in their defense. 

Overall it promises to be a superb game of Kabaddi between two really well matched sides. UP Yoddhas will be keen to win this game and keep their place at the top of the table while Haryana Steelers will be looking for the victory too as it helps them to get to the top of the table.
