Isn't that senior abuse??

03:07 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

OVERALL GRADE FOR AEW COLLISION (JANUARY 4, 2025).
B-.

The four-man match was the best bout on the night. Both title matches were slow at points but were decent. Storm should have had a different opponent because Deonna Purrazzo shouldn't be losing. The backstage stuff with Page/Daniels was great. You had to figure out that Moxley and his crew were going to end the night after addressing "Cope" from earlier in the show.

03:05 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Mine fell the hardest. Mine are the deadest!!!

03:04 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

FULL RESULTS FOR AEW COLLISION (JANUARY 4, 2025).
DANIEL GARCIA defeats Mark Briscoe by pin.
JEFF JARRETT defeats Aaron Solo by pin.
PRIVATE PARTY defeats Lio Rush and Action Andretti by pin.
TONI STORM defeats Deonna Purrazzo by pin.
BRIAN CAGE defeats The Beast Mortos, Komander, and Dante Martin by pin.
RATED FTR (Cope and FTR) defeats The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith) by pin.

03:01 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

After the match, Copeland grabs the mic but is cut off by Moxley and the Death Riders on the big screen. He reveals that he's tied Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson up in the back. The Outrunners rush over to try and help but are blindsided by Yuta and Marina Shafir. Rated FTR rushed to the back to save the quartet of interesting tag team specialists.

02:59 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Copeland spears Big Bill off the apron before hitting a splash on the outside. Cash hits him with a Suicide Dive because every AEW match requires at least one. Dax and Chris are battling back in the ring. Dax goes to the top but gets hit with the ROH Title behind the back. He kicks out. Copeland spears Keith on the apron as Dax nearly rolls up Jericho. Jericho completely misses the Lionsault, allowing FTR to hit the Shatter Machine. They stand him up so Copeland can blast him with a Spear. Legitimately shocked he ate the pin unless it's so Copeland can get a ROH title shot.
Result - Rate FTR (Cope and FTR) defeats The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith) by pin.

GRADE: B+.
The middle and ending sequences were the best. Big Bill did the heavy lifting for his team. Jericho hung in there but badly botched his Lionsault.

02:55 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

They go for a Shatter Machine but Big Bill battles out of it. He hits Dax with a Sidewalk Slam for a two-count. Jericho tags in but is hit with a Brainbuster by Dax. Keith rushes in and gets put in a Sharpshooter. Jericho does the same to Cash as they stare each other down in the middle of the ring. A slap fight then ensues.

02:53 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Cope battles with Keith until he tags in Cash Wheeler. Big Bill tags in for his team. Wheeler tries to chop Bill down but isn't having luck. Wheeler hits his head on the top of the ringpost but it must have been an accident because he no-sells it. He hits a rolling DDT on Bill for two. Bald Bull tags as FTR puts Big Bill on the top buckle. He pushes them both off. They hit a Superplex/Splash/Flying Elbow for a near fall.

02:50 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Copeland hits his DDT and lines Jericho up for the Spear, but Jericho counters with a Codebreaker for a near fall. Nigel thinks he's smart with all these "Cope" jokes. Big Bill tags in.

02:49 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Cope and Jericho finally tag in at the same time, to Jericho's chagrin. The Nueve extends his hand, and Cope shakes it, but Jericho slaps his chest. They trade more slaps. Copeland goes for the Impaler DDT, but Keith rushes in to save Jericho. Things break down and the ref just stands there. They then send people over the top like they're in the Royal Rumble. Well, five of the six people in this match have been in one...

02:45 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

The world needs more of the Outrunners.

02:44 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Dax lures Big Bill to the opposite corner to slam the big man's legs against the ringpost. Cash tags in, but Big Bill easily fights both men off. He chokeslams Cash onto Dax.

02:43 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

The good guys land offense on Keith until they fling him to the Learning Tree's corner. Big Bill tags in. Dax works on Big Bill's leg, but it doesn't last long as the larger star overpowers the bald bull lookalike.

02:41 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Jericho and "Cope" start off for their teams. Jericho needs to go back to pants instead of trunks. He tries to start a slow clap but fails. As they're about to square up, Jericho tags in the team's designated pin-taker, Bryan Keith.

02:40 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Weapon X

02:39 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Time for the main event as Chris Jericho and the Learning Tree battle Rated FTR.

02:39 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Ouch

02:38 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

The calm before the bomb . . .

02:36 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

FTR talks backstage with the Rock n Roll Express. They apologize for dumping Ricky Morton on his head, and he brushes it off like it wasn't a big deal. The Outrunners then come up angry, looking for cab money from 1982. After some back-and-forth and convincing from FTR, they bury the hatchet with their signature Predator handshake.

02:34 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Martin breaks it up, but all four men return to the ring. Mortos hits a Tombstone gutbuster on Martin. Cage then deadlift suplexes Mortos into the ring off the apron. Komander then hits a Tornado DDT on Cage and a Poisonrana on Mortos. He goes for another Candian Destroyer, but Cage catches him. He hits an F5 before blasting Martin with a Lariat. He hits a Gory Bomb variant on Martin to pick up the big win.
Result - Brian Cage defeats Komander, Dante Martin, and The Beast Mortos by pin.

GRADE: A-.
The best match of the night by far. All four men looked great and had great flow and chemistry. The big guys meshed well with the little guys, and all four should be getting more opportunities.

02:31 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Cage and Mortos are in the ring off the commercial break. Martin has recovered from the attack before the ads. Mortos lands a series of moves to plant Cage. Komander comes back in to hit a Hurricanrana and impressive Canadian Destroyer on Mortos. Cage tosses him and goes for a powerbomb, but Komander counters into a facebuster.

02:27 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Komander lands a spinning Hurricanrana before landing a Tornillo off the top on Mortos. Martin adds a Swan Dive on his three opponents. As Martin and Cage are on the outside, Rush and Andretti attack Martin. Cage surprisingly tells them to beat their feet. Back in the ring, Mortos lands a popup Samoan Drop. Cage stops it and hits a pump handle facebuster variant.

02:24 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

The crowd is behind The Beast Mortos. Martin and Komander kick him at the same time, and Cage drops him with a shoulderblock. Cage gets hits with an innovative head scissors combo from Martin and Komander. They then hit dueling suicide dives before exchanging pin attempts. Mortos returns to head-butt Dante.

02:23 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Up next is the car crash four-way match for a random $100,000. Ring of Honor TV Champ Komander takes on Dante Martin, Brian Cage, and The Beast Mortos. Why did Komander, the Champ, not come out last??? Because it's for money and not the title??

02:21 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

We get another backstage segment from Dynamite featuring an argument between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens. He claims The Hurt Syndicate attacked him like cowards even though he tagged himself in when he was not ready. Bowens then says he's close to decking him but doesn't because Billy Gunn asked him not to. Caster then says, "Screw Billy," before Bowens storms off.

02:20 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Don't wake up the Fallen Angel . . .

02:19 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Slappy time

02:16 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

We then see a heated backstage argument between Hangman Page and Christopher Daniels. Page says he needed help at Worlds End, so he lashed out on Dynamite. He then says Daniels lost it and is less of a man than he was. Page then slaps him before walking off. Daniels rushes him and lands a bunch of headbutts to bloody his own head.

02:14 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Purrazzo locks in her signature armbar but Storm gets her foot on the bottom rope. They trade strikes and headbutts. Deonna hits a kick, but Storm lands a DDT for two. Taya interferes again, and Storm decks her. Deonna tries to roll her up, but Toni kicks out. She then gets the win with an Inside Cradle pin.
Result - Toni Storm defeats Deonna Purrazzo by pin.

GRADE: B-.
The match was fine, but these two are capable of doing so much more. The beginning exchange was funny, but the way Taya interacted was predictable. Hopefully, they have more matches.

02:12 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Storm hits a side suplex and a Thesz Press to gain control. She hits a Perfect Plex for two. She locks in an STO submission that Deonna easily breaks by getting to the ropes. Toni adds a "hip" attack, but Deonna almost counters for the win. As Storm reverses into a potential Storm Zero, Taya gets up on the apron to distract her.

02:07 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

After Storm sends Purrazzo back into the ring, Taya grabs her foot to prevent her from following. Deonna lands a move that looks like a botch before heading to commercial.

02:06 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Storm's continuing her amnesia angle. She tries to shake hands with Deonna to start the match, and Deonna obliges. They start with a test of strength. They land some counters and shake hands a gain after dueling bridges. Deonna then decks her when they reach their feet. Storm hits a move that sends Deonna scurrying from the ring. Storm comes out, and Taya gets in her face.

02:03 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Purrazzo has to be one of the most underutilized talents in AEW, but then again, there are many of those. She's flanked by Taya Valkyrie, another under-used star.

02:02 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Up next is Toni Storm's "match" with Deonna Purrazzo. Wonder who's gonna win...

02:01 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Chris Jericho confronts him to argue about who the older Canadian wrestler is. Jericho says all he remembers is Copeland getting hurt. Cope says all he remembers is Jericho being a butthole. Jericho ends with the dad joke, "Cope is a Dope." Already horrible.

01:59 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Edge's new shirt says "Rated R Legend" since now he's going by "Cope." Great name. He says he attacked Moxley because Mox's group attacked his friends. He adds that they threw Darby Allin down some stairs, but that's just a Thursday for him.

01:54 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Kassidy hits a cutter on Rush, but Andretti almost rolls him up. He grabs the ropes, and Lio holds his hands down, but Dante Martin rushes in from the front row to break it up. Kassidy reverses it to pick up the win.
Result - Private Party defeats Lio Rush/Isiah Kassidy by pin.

GRADE: B-.
Things started way too slow but picked up at the end. The finishing moments were the best part, but the outcome was probably never doubted.

01:52 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Rush whiffs on a Cutter, allowing Kassidy to hit a Cannonball on him on the outside. Andretti hits a moonsault and Quen adds a Torpe off the top rope. Kassidy hits a Twist of Fate, and Quen hits a Shooting Star Press, but Andretti breaks up the pin with a 450 Splash.

01:50 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

The challengers climb to the top as Private Party awaits them on the mat. The two sides exchange strikes before all falling with simultaneous clotheslines.

01:50 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

He drops Lio on top of Andretti for a near fall. Quen quickly tags Kassidy back in as his back is bothering him. They go for a move, but he buckles under the weight. Kassidy goes for a Twist of Fat,e but Rush counters with a Cutter.
Andretti hits a Spanish Fly off the top. Lio hits a top rope hurricanrana into a cutter, but Kassidy kicks out. Instead of pinning Kassidy again, they waste time and notice Leila Grey and Top Flight in the front row eating popcorn.

01:47 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

This is definitely a lot slower than I had thought it would be with these two teams. Kassidy fights back by sending Andretti out of the ring and Lio to the mat. He crawls to his corner to tag Quen in.

01:45 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

When you don't look as cool as you think you do . . .

01:43 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

The challengers land a few kicks on Kassidy. Andretti hits a basement dropkick in the corner for two. Rush walks around Kassidy like he thinks he's a big boy. The crowd boos.

01:41 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

It doesn't take long for everyone to land outside in front of the announcers. The Champs land a tandem move highlighted by a front Atomic Drop. They flip Andretti over their shoulders. They go for Poetry In Motion, but Andretti pulls his partner out of harm's way. They double suplex Quen on the ring apron before hitting a double slam on Kassidy for a near fall.

01:39 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Lio Rush definitely has Little Man Syndrome. A lot of trash-talking before they first blow lands.

01:36 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Up next is the Tag Team title match between Private Party and the duo of Action Andretti and Lio Rush. They come out looking like extras from a Super Mario game.

01:34 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Jarrett must not be getting paid by the minute . . .

01:32 (GMT)5 JAN 2025

Jeff Jarrett takes on Aaron Solo in the first match on his last contract. Solo ambushes Jarrett before the bell. The Last Outlaw quickly takes over, hitting a clothesline and a few strikes before hitting two Strokes for the win.
Result - Jeff Jarrett defeats Aaron Solo by pin.

GRADE: C-.
It was basically a squash match for Jarrett over Solo. Nothing much to it, but after a nearly 20-minute opener, it made a bit of sense for this match to be short.

01:29 (GMT)5 JAN 2025
