AEW Dynamite Results, live recap, grades: Top star suffers heartbreaking loss, former WWE champion makes in-ring debut, Blackpool Combat Club go CRAZY, Adam Cole returns!

Jay hits a big Saito Suplex onto Christian and then slams Christian into the ropes. Jay goes for a Superplex, but Christian pushes him down and hits a diving headbutt for a two-count. Kip is again distracting the referee, which allows Hangman to hit the Buckshot behind the ref's back. Christian then pins Jay for the win.

Christian Cage defeats Jay White by pinfall.

They are getting some really silly shots of Hangman hiding from the referee.

Jay White beats down Christian in the corner, hitting several chops. He then levels Christian with a DDT. Christian kicks out at two and is soon able to get the upper hand. He hits a Tornado DDT and gets ready for the Spear, but Kip Sabian shows up and causes a distraction. Someone else is in the crowd, but it isn't clear who.

It is then revealed to be Hangman Adam Page. Jay White hits the Uranage on Christian for a two-count. He goes for The Bladerunner, but Christian counters into the Killswitch and Jay kicks out at two.

Back from break and Christian will be going one-on-one with Jay White still. Jay slams Christian into the steel steps. A series of Collision matches has been announced and Mark Briscoe vs. Chris Jericho in Ladder War next week is confirmed. Daniel Garcia and Private Party vs. The Elite will also take place next week.

Christian avoids Jay early on before they do a test of strength. Jay pushes Christian into the corner and nails him. Weird audio cuts in of fans clapping when they weren't, and it quickly shuts off. Audio glitch? Failed attempt at adding crowd noise?

Chaos takes place, and it leads to the Bang Bang Gang getting ejected from ringside thanks to manipulation by Nick Wayne. The crowd chants, "Ref, you suck." Colton Gunn attacks Nick Wayne, and he and Juice Robinson drag him to the back. Nick Wayne's mom follows.

Next, Jay White's music hits. He comes out, followed by Christian Cage for tonight's main event.

Christian Cage vs. Jay White

Both of these guys are quite good, so this should be fun.

Backstage, The Blackpool Combat Club are still fighting with John Silver, Top Flight, and others. They lay them out and get in a truck before leaving. Top Flight and Player Uno yell about how they're coming for them and then make a challenge for Collision.

After the commercial, Ricochet is interviewed by Renee Paquette. Ricochet brings up not being pinned since joining AEW. He says he has come to AEW to become champion, but Takeshita has stopped that from happening twice. Ricochet says his matches dictate how good someone is. He'll be in action on Collision to show why he is out of this world.

It is confirmed that Swerve Strickland and Shelton Benjamin will clash at Frite Night Dynamite in two weeks.

Next up, Mariah May is interviewed. She takes shots at the various women, including Willow and Toni Storm. She complains about no competition. She says AEW is where the best are afraid of her. Anna Jay shows up and Christopher Daniels tries to break it up but gets slapped for it by accident. Mariah runs off.

Don Callis then introduces Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. Don says the International Title will be taken all over the world. Takeshita tells anyone to come and take it. The fans aren't into Don at all. Kyle says he won't tell fans why he did what he did. Don says the fans are too ignorant and won't shut up. Callis says The Don Callis Family has never been stronger than today.

Backstage, Swerve Strickland is with Prince Nana. He tells Shelton Benjamin not to fail, seemingly challenging him, and accepts MVP's challenge for a face-to-face meeting.

From there, Don Callis comes out with Lance Archer and Brian Cage. He takes a shot at wrestling media and then reveals Brian Cage and Lance Archer will chase tag team gold.

Post-match, MVP leaves his business card in Lio Rush's tights. MVP takes the microphone and says Shelton closed Rush's mouth. He brings up Swerve, and the fans chant, "Swerve's House". MVP asks Swerve to finish the conversation they started at WrestleDream. He calls Shelton Benjamin the "Standard of Excellence."

Back in the ring, Lio hits a cutter. He goes for a dive, but Shelton moves. Shelton hits a spinning kick. The awkwardly maneuver, but eventually find where they're at, and Lio hits a Tornado DDT on Benjamin. Rush climbs the ropes, and Shelton rushes to the top and slams him off. MVP yells for Shelton to finish him.

Benjamin hits a German Suplex and then goes for another, but Lio hits elbows. Shelton fights it and hits another one. Suplex City. Benjamin then nails a Superkick. Shelton then hits a T-Bone suplex, and this one is over.

Shelton Benjamin defeats Lio Rush by pinfall.

After the ad break, Lio Rush nails big forearms on Shelton, but Shelton hits a strike of his own and slows the momentum. Shelton goes for a corner splash, but Lio moves. Lio tries to hit a springboard stunner, but it gets botched.

Lio goes for a springboard rana, but Shelton catches him. Lio counters it and avoids Shelton before hitting a lope to the floor. He follows it up with another one.

Shelton shows off his power with a shoulder tackle and a corner clothesline. Lio dodges Shelton and sends him to the floor. He goes for a dive, but Shelton hits a step-up strike. From there, he throws Lio in the ring, just to throw him back out and then hits a Belly to Belly Suplex on the floor.

Next up, Lio Rush comes out alongside Leila Grey. Lio didn't get much of a reaction from the crowd. Shelton Benjamin then comes out with MVP to a bigger applause.

This is Shelton's in-ring debut. The bell sounds and there is a huge size difference here.

Alex is hit with chairs, while Moxley says this is just the cost of doing business. The Conglomeration and the others are a mess as the stable leaves.

We then go backstage with The Elite, who are walking as the camera follows. They're asked how they let it happen, and they say it is none of their business. Daniel Garcia interrupts and scolds them, but Jack Perry awkwardly rubs his head against Garcia, and he does it back. That was not as effective as they thought it'd be.

The Blackpool Combat Club beat up The Conglomeration. Top Flight then comes out, and they get beat up, too. More of the locker room comes out as The Elite watches from on the stage, refusing to help. Evil Uno is choked out by Jon Moxley as the EVPs walk to the back.

Claudio takes a belt off of Alex Reynolds, and Marina Shafir chokes him with it.

THE BLACKPOOL COMBAT CLUB ARE HERE!! This one is thrown out.

The Conglomeration vs. The Elite ends in a no contest

The Bucks tag in and take Kyle out. They pump up their shoes and Kyle tags out to Orange Cassidy. OC runs in and hits a rana on both men at once. He then hits a stunner counter to Okada. Kyle hits some strikes, and they nail a high-low. The Bucks are back in, and they hit Superkicks. Rocky is hit with a DDT, and then Cassidy hits one of his own.

Back from break and Okada manages to get a nearfall on Kyle thanks to interference from The Young Bucks. All three nail a corner combo on Kyle, followed by a neckbreaker, but Romero breaks it up. He hits repeated clothesline on the Jacksons and attempts a Sliced Bread on Okada, but is nailed by a Tombstone Piledriver.

Next, The Conglomeration comes out. The Young Bucks then come out, followed by Kazuchika Okada.

The Elite vs. The Conglomeration

This is a Six-Man Tag Team Match. The Bucks and Okada vs. Rocky Romero, Orange Cassidy, and Kyle O'Reilly. Okada and Kyle start, trading forearm shots. Kyle gets the upper hand and soon everybody ends up fighting in and around the ring.

Back from break and The Elite are backstage. Jack Perry mentions today being a special day and he mentions it being Kenny Omega's birthday. He mocks Kenny for having his intestines removed. They said he got something for Kenny and show off a cake saying "Happy birthday, Kenny." He then pours intestines on it.

Jack then tells him to get well soon "or die."

Next, there is an interview with Private Party and The Young Bucks. Private Party says they were close to winning, and they want another title shot. Matt Jackson says they were tough challengers, but that doesn't work for them. The Bucks say it was their last chance at the titles and walk off.

Stokely Hathaway then shows up and mocks them. He says next time they challenge for the gold and lose, they should just break up. Isaiah says, "If that's what it takes," seemingly agreeing.

Back from break and Mercedes is in control, but Aminata counters into a quick pin. She then nails Mercedes with an Air Raid Crash for a two count. Queen hits a unique submission, but Mercedes gets out. She then hits Mercedes with a rolling pin, but again, Mercedes gets out.

Mercedes lures Queen in and hits a big knee, followed by the Meteora. Mercedes then hits the Statement Maker, and Queen has no choice but to submit.

Mercedes Mone defeats Queen Aminata by submission.

Queen Aminata is mad about Kamille and slaps the bodyguard. That distraction backfires, and Mercedes slams her face first into the steel steps!

From there, we go to another commercial break.

Next up, Mercedes Mone comes out alongside Kamille. She will be defending her TBS Title.

Mercedes Mone vs. Queen Aminata

Queen Aminata has a lot of potential. Mercedes gets the advantage early on thanks to a Kamille distraction, but Queen takes over and gets a quick pin. Mercedes kicks out. She is then slammed hard, and Kamille pulls her out of the ring.

After FTR wins, The Outrunners make their way out to a big pop. They come in and shake hands with FTR, and the crowd loves it, but it seems out for FTR.

From there, The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn are with Renee. Billy says they're going to the gym next, and he's going to get the car ready. The Acclaimed talk about wanting more when MVP and Shelton Benjamin show up. MVP hands them his card and says when they're ready to be serious, give him a call. They declined his offer.

Back from break and Cash Wheeler levels Keith. Keith tags out, and so does Dash. Dash hits big punches on both Bryan and Big Bill. He tries to clothesline Bill, but it backfires, and Bill levels Dax with one of his own. Cash hits a crossbody from the top. From there, FTR sets up Big Bill for the Shatter Machine, but Bill counters it and then powerombs Dax.

From there, Keith hits a Diamond Dust, and Bill hits a big boot. It's almost over, but the count is broken up! It felt a little late, though. Regardless, FTR then hit the Shatter Machine on Keith for the win!

FTR defeats The Learning Tree by pinfall

Cash Wheeler comes in, and so does Big Bill. Wheeler starts to fire back, but a Boss Man Slam levels him!

From there, we go to a commercial break.

The Learning Tree vs. FTR

Bryan Keith and Big Bill represent The Learning Tree. Notably, Jericho is not with them. A decent "FTR" chant is heard as Dax Harwood and Bryan start things off. Bryan hits a big boot and levels Harwood, followed by chops. This fires Dax up, and he hits chops of his own and a leg drop.

Mark says Jericho says a lot of dumb stuff, but he can't let Chris say his brother's name without punishment. Mark says next week, they'll battle in a Ladder War for the ROH Title! He is then joined by FTR, and they get fired up before their music hits, and they make their way out.

Next, we go to a post-match promo from WrestleDream where Chris Jericho says he feels vindicated. He brags about acting and music before saying Mark Briscoe cheated to win their match. Jericho says he wants a rematch, and he wants it soon. Chris promises to become a two-time ROH Champion, just like Jay Briscoe. That was disrespectful.

We then go to Mark Briscoe.

Cole says never forget that he knows MJF better than anybody. Adam tells MJF he can run, but he can't hide. He then promises to give MJF the beating of a lifetime.

MJF doesn't come out, and instead appears on-screen. MJF says he has grown a lot over the years and that there is no such thing as trust in pro wrestling. He says after years of being manipulated he said it'd never happen again and then Cole stabbed him in the back. MJF says he'll never trust again and the man he has become is Adam Cole's fault.

MJF says he will never wrestle Adam Cole, and he'll taunt him with Cole never getting revenge.

Cole says MJF thinks he's special and the best there's ever been in AEW. Cole says everybody hates MJF, and he hates him. After channeling his best "10 Things I Hate About You" speech, he challenges MJF to come out. MJF's music then hits!

Adam says MJF is fake. He says everything about him is fake and takes a shot at his hair. He says MJF is a scared, insecure little boy. He says MJF cries over fan backlash and calls him a phony.

Cole says AEW has the best professional wrestlers in the entire world. He also says AEW has a young group of guys who are hungry and will carry the company into the future. Cole says it makes him sick for the young talent to see MJF and think that's the path towards success when its nothing but failure and loneliness.

Adam Cole takes the microphone and asks who is ready for story time with Adam Cole, baybay. He tells the rest of his group, who aren't with him that he has to do this on his own. Adam says he's happy to be back and calls MJF the worst human being he's ever met.

Cole says he doesn't trust MJF, and he isn't stupid. Adam says the MJF people are seeing now is the real MJF and he doesn't care about AEW, just himself.

Dynamite begins with a cinematic video of The Blackpool Combat Club leaving WrestleDream. Jon Moxley says he hates what AEW has become. He tells people to run while they can and get out of the way.

From there, Adam Cole comes out!
