AEW Dynamite Results, live recap, grades: Former WWE star makes HUGE debut, Blackpool Combat Club implodes! Who is the AEW World Champion?!

Wheeler sends the Blackpool Combat Club running, except for Jon. Jon and Wheeler go eye to eye. He can't bring himself to hit Moxley, but Bryan does. Eventually, Blackpool Combat Club flees. Yuta takes the microphone and says he's not a child and can fight his fights. He then seemingly challenges PAC and Claudio to a tag team match. Bryan confirms it.

Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta vs. Claudio Castagnoli and PAC next week!

PAC and Claudio get in the ring and hold a hurt Bryan up when Jox Moxley makes his way out to the ring. He has a microphone and says this isn't about him. It is much bigger than himself. He says nobody else can do this.

Suddenly, Wheeler Yuta shows up with a hammer!

The Blackpool Combat Club distraction actually backfired and Bryan pinned Okada out of nowhere!

Bryan Danielson defeats Kazuchika Okada by pinfall

An angry Okada attacks Bryan post-match and storms out.

The two trade forearms on their knees and then on their feet. They go back and forth until BRYAN HITS THE RAINMAKER!! Okada kicks out and eventually drops Bryan on his neck. Then, The Blackpool Combat Club starts to make its way out, hanging out behind the barricade.

We're back from commercial, and it's revealed that it was the last break of the show. Bryan hits several big strikes, and Okada tries to fight back but fails. Bryan then begins to stomp Okada's face repeatedly as the fans chant, "YES!" Bryan goes for a running knee but eats the Rainmaker instead! He is too tired to get the pin, however.

Okada recovers outside of the ring, but Bryan hits a dive onto him. Okada recovers in time to hit a Tombstone Piledriver onto a chair on the floor! Bryan is hurt!

Okada and Bryan begin to trade European Uppercuts. Bryan fires up and starts to slap Okada. Okada slaps back. Okada then hits a huge dropkick. He then nails an elbow drop off the top before flipping off the camera. He goes for the Rainmaker, but Bryan tries to put in a Triangle, but it doesn't work.

Finally, Bryan locks in the Yes Lock, and 19 minutes have passed. He breaks the hold and hits his running knee, but Okada rolls to the floor. 20 minutes have passed, which means the Continental Title is no longer on the line.

Bryan throws Okada back into the ring, then dropkicks Okada back to the floor. From there, Danielson hits a running dive. Back in the ring, Bryan hits a dropkick from the top to the back of Okada. Commentary notes they're coming up on 16 minutes in the match.

Danielson hits multiple "YES" kicks and then tries to get a submission, but this leads to both men trading pins.

Bryan starts firing back with headbutts, and the two end up on the ropes. Bryan knocks Okada down and goes for a diving headbutt but misses. Bryan's bad neck is extremely fragile. Okada then locks in a hold.

Okada hits a big dropkick, leading to them fighting to the floor, and Bryan Danielson is kicked into the crowd!

Back from break, fans chant "YES" as neither man has the upper hand. The commentary says Okada is trying to burn the clock so his title won't be on the line once 20 minutes pass. Okada clubs Bryan into the corner. Bryan then counters and hits repeated clubbing forearms and a big dropkick through the ropes! Okada hits a flapjack in the ring to cut off Bryan's momentum.

Okada keeps control and hits several big strikes and an elbow in the corner. This one is slow so far.

The bell sounds, and the two face-to-face. The crowd is into this one before it even begins. They lock up, and the crowd chants, "Let's go, Bryan," with some chanting, "Okada." Nigel McGuinness prays, "Okada will end Bryan's career tonight."

Things start very slow, but they pick things up with headlock takeovers as we go to break.

Main event time! As a reminder, the AEW Title is on the line for the entire bout, while the Continental Championship is only on the line for the first 20 minutes of the match, should it go that long. Okada comes out first, followed by Bryan Danielson, who Nigel calls "Brittle Bryan" in another cheap shot.

Kazuchika Okada vs. Bryan Danielson

These two are great, so this should be good.

Next, we see MVP backstage, who has a big announcement. Before he could say much, Prince Nana interrupted. Nana says people forgot that he used to be a wrestler and teases fighting MVP. MVP says he doesn't deal with complaints, but "he" does. Shelton Benjamin is then shown in a suit! Shelton is all elite!

In an unsurprising move, Matt decides against it, stating they have limited dates and they won't waste it in Pittsburgh. Then Jack Perry attacks Private Party from behind! The Elite attack both men when Shibata runs out and chases them off. Daniels comes out and makes a Six-Man Tag Team Match on Rampage. The Elite are livid.

The Private Party takes the mic post-match. They call out The Young Bucks for a match and promise to become AEW Tag Team Champions this year! The Bucks' music hits, and they sit on the steps. Nick says they can't have an anniversary show without them.

Matt Jackson mentions a huge overrun and teases a title match right now.

Private Party vs. Iron Savages

Private Party hits a double dropkick and then another. It isn't effective in Boulder, though. Instead, they hit a massive dive as Stokely Hathaway is shown watching on from backstage.

Backstage, Mariah May is interviewed. She says Willow Nightingale is the definition of "failing up" and takes shots at her losses. Willow then interrupts and calls Mariah a "shady b-." This leads to the two brawling, and security breaks it up!!

From there, the Private Party makes its way out. They had a major moment on the second-ever episode of Dynamite, and five years later, they're in action.

We go to an interview with Hook backstage. We find out Taz was injured earlier tonight. Hook says he'll find out who did it and is coming for them.

Next, we go to Christian Cage. He tells the crowd to sit down and shut their mouths. Christian says he will soon have it all, "hook, line, and sinker." Was he taking credit for the attack?

Serena tries to get the upper hand in quick recovery, but the Lockjaw is quickly locked in, and Britt wins! Mariah May doesn't look super impressed.

Britt Baker defeats Serena Deeb by pinfall

Post-match, Serena attacks Britt and attacks the leg. Queen Aminata shows up and helps Britt. She saved the day.

The two go back and forth, leading to a big German Suplex from Deeb. She hits the rubs but eats a superkick, only to give Baker a lariat. This is a solid match. Deeb goes for her finish but Britt counters with the Air Raid Crash. The two trade pins and then submission attempts. Both women seem gassed as strikes are looking weaker.

Both women fight to the ropes, but Britt hits a huge air raid crash off the ropes! Serena kicks out at two!

Back from break and Britt avoids another chop block and hits a forearm and a clothesline. Rolling forearm from Britt and she tries to fire up. Both stars are beat up, but Baker hits a Fisherman Neckbreaker for a near fall. Commentary notes that next week, Title Tuesday starts at 9 PM. It will be up against NXT.

"DMD" chants now starting, so they're getting into, only for Deeb to cut off Britt with a chop block and hammerlock lariat as we go to commercial break.

Is Mariah May watching this a teaser of May vs. Baker? That would be an interesting match, to say the least.

Serena puts on a single-leg crab, but Britt makes it to the ropes. The crowd isn't super into this one, and most of what is happening doesn't get a reaction, but the wrestling is solid.

Serena Deeb is out next.

Britt Baker vs. Serena Deeb

Deeb and Baker are both talented, how will this go? The two trade holds early on and the crowd is fully behind Baker. We then see Mariah May watching from in the crowd!

Bryan dedicating his match to AEW like that was unusual but nice. From there, Britt Baker comes out to make her return!

Back from break, we get a promo from Bryan Danielson. He puts over AEW and says this isn't about Jon Moxley, and that's why he challenged Okada. He says Okada broke his body but never his spirit. He notes his title and career are on the line and wouldn't want it any other way. He then says, "AEW, this is for you."

In the parking lot, we see Jack Perry arrive. Shibata appears and, with a translator, challenges Perry to a match. He says he'll think about it but then jumps him and accepts.

After the match, Hangman wraps a belt around Juice's throat and starts choking him when suddenly JAY WHITE'S MUSIC HITS! Switchblade appears through the crowd and nails Hangman with a clothesline in the ring!

They fight into the crowd, and White puts Hangman through the table set up before the match! Wow!

Both men look to be in serious pain, but they get back into the ring, and Page hits the Fallaway Slam into the corner. Juice is in trouble.

Juice is able to fight back and hits a bomb of sorts. He goes for a sit-out DDT, but it gets countered. Juice counters the counter, and Hangman hits a low blow behind the referee's back. He then nails the Buckshot Lariat, and this one is over!

Adam Page defeats Juice Robinson by pinfall

Juice then runs and hits a diving cannonball which breaks through the barricade! The crowd reacted to that one! "Holy S" chants!

Back from break, Juice meets Page on the ropes. He hits a huge superplex. Juice then hits several big jabs and then even more. He says, "Happy five years," and cusses. He then goes for a running cannonball but misses. Page then slams Juice into the barricade. Page claps his hands so the crowd will make some noise, only to eat a spinebuster against the apron. Ouch!

They continue to fight and Juice is throwing drinks and popcorn into Hangman's face. They finally get into the ring after fighting for ages and the bell sounds.

Adam Page vs. Juice Robinson

Juice immediately starts choking Adam with the strap, but the referee counts instead of disqualifies him. Page gets the upper hand quickly and starts to stomp Juice in the corner.

Hangman and Juice fight on the ramp before the match can begin. Juice nails Hangman with a leather strap. They fight into the crowd and Hangman bangs Juice against chairs and a barricade. Page sets a table up against a barricade and goes to piledrive Juice onto it, but gets backdropped onto the floor.

Darby Allin discusses his past in Seattle. It leads to him making an open challenge at WrestleDream. It was a good and intense promo.

Next, Adam Page makes his way out. He is followed by Juice Robinson.

Mark says he was raised not to make excuses, but he says Jericho only beat him because of Big Bill. Mark calls Jericho one of the most influential wrestlers on the planet. He implies it will mean a lot for his career, but Jericho interrupts and says Mark can't do it.

Jericho then says "maybe your brother Jay could have" which was very distasteful. Jericho then says, "but everybody knows, you'll never be as good as Jay was." Mark then punches Jericho. Mark says keep his brother's name out of his mouth and he accepts his challenge.

The botch was surely on purpose to get heat and it was effective. Jericho says he is here to mentor as much young talent as he can and to get as much TV time as he can. Jericho then challenges Mark Briscoe to a ROH World Title match at WrestleDream and it gets no reaction at all.

Mark then comes out with the Conglomeration.

Chris Jericho says, "Hi guys." He congratulates AEW on the big TV deal and says they made a lot of "experts" look like "real idiots". He takes credit for it, and they make the crowd chant, "Thank you, Chris." Jericho reveals this is the 34th anniversary of his wrestling debut. He then botches and gets the town wrong, which gets a lot of heat.

Backstage, the Gunn Boys are talking and they get attacked by Hangman Page!

We then see Big Bill welcome Chris Jericho to the ring for The Learning Tree.

Mercedes gloats about her win and says money changes everything. MVP shows up and agrees, giving her his card.

We then get a look back at a Jericho moment.

Next, we got backstage to Mercedes Mone with Kamille. The crowd gives a small reaction to The CEO. She says she put together a special package of Dynamite's money moments over the past 5 years, and naturally, its all of her from this year.

Just as the match is back on, Takeshita interrupts, nailing Will. Commentary asks if this was done under Don Callis' orders. Takeshita then levels Ricochet.

Fans are chanting "a-hole." There is no official announcement, but this is presumably a double disqualification.

Ricochet vs. Will Osprey ends without a concrete finish

Ricochet insists to get five more minutes and Tony Khan apparently approves and the match is back on!

Both men trade blows back and forth.

Will goes for the Hidden Blade but misses. Ricochet nails him with a similar move and then hits the shooting star press for another two-count. Ricochet looks SHOCKED. He is in disbelief!

Both men then hit dual poisonranas and Will hits the Hidden Blade and both men awkwardly pin each other, but the referee was slow to count and it was awkward. The fans are booing. It is then ruled a draw.

Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet ends in a draw

Ricochet hits a kick and attempts the 450, but lands on his feet. He then hits a backslide bomb and a piledriver. Will kicks out at two, but just barely. "Fight forever" chants. Another kick followed by a suplex. Will then counters and goes for the Hidden Blade, but Ricochet counters. Will then counters that counter into the Styles Clash for a two count. AJ Styles would be proud!

Will then hits a cutter for two.

Back from break and both men are fighting on the ropes. Ricochet goes for a super rana but Will lands on his feet! The crowd erupts and cheers. Ricochet then hits a springboard cutter for a two count.

Will tries to jump off the ropes, but Ricochet stops him. On the apron, Ricochet goes for a pump kick but gets chopped. They trade more kicks and Will nails the Osprey onto the apron!

We then go to the first commercial break.

Will quickly recovers and hits a handspring kick. He then goes onto the apron and starts an "oi" chant. Will hits a springboard diving elbow and gets a two count. "Ospreay" chants as Will levels Ricochet with a chop. He goes to hit the ropes but its countered. They try to do some kicks but both avoid it, then Ricochet nails two big clotheslines for the two count.

Both guys counter powerbomb attempts and hit multiple kicks, then Will hits a standing C4 for a nearfall.

The two men trade chops and it eventually leads to Ricochet hitting a dive onto Will on the floor. They fight by the guard rail and Ricochet jumps to the top of one and hits a Rana off of it sending both to the floor!

Ricochet then hits a stalling senton into the ring.

Ricochet and Ospreay lock up and the fans are already chanting "This Is Awesome". AEW fans love lock ups. Will and Ricochet do some very nice trading of pins back and forth. They then do a bunch of flips reminiscent of their spots from Rev Pro and New Japan. The fans liked it and chant "AEW".
