AEW Dynamite Results, live recap, grades: Kenny Omega brutally assaulted after shocking medical revelation; The Hurt Syndicate reveal plans; New number one contender crowned!

The commentary covers some upcoming matches, including Omega's in-ring return next week. That's it for Sportskeeda's coverage of AEW Dynamite on TBS and MAX!

Don Callis barely gets a word out when Omega leaves the ring and chases after him. He starts to attack Don, but Brian Cage and Lance Archer show up and attack Omega. Kyle Fletcher then shows up and lays Kenny out!

They start targeting his stomach, but Will Ospreay shows up and chases them off with a steel chair. He and Kenny Omega then have a tense stare-down as the fans chant, "holy s***."

Omega says the doctor made it sound like he would never return to the ring. He had issues and kept getting hospitalized, so he thought giving up was the safest option. But he wondered, what purpose does he even have without the fans? Omega says he tested that theory, and he found his purpose in Japan, just like he has tonight.

He says if he isn't in front of the fans every week, he just isn't living. He says if he isn't showing them he can be the best, then he is not living. Omega says even though he might not be the same guy, this version of Kenny Omega can still prove... he is then interrupted by Don Callis.

Omega says it was a little over a year ago that he found out he had diverticulitis. He says if he hadn't gotten checked in by the time he did, the doctor said he'd have been dead. He says for the past year it has been a rollercoaster ride.

Kenny doesn't have much energy coming out, that's for sure. "Kenny" chants as the music stops, and he's in the ring. So far, this feels very lifeless, but I'd imagine it'll pick up steam. "Welcome back," chants.

Kenny says, "This isn't making it any easier." What does that mean?

Toni Storm cuts a promo being sad about losing, saying maybe she isn't ready yet.

From there, we get a special Kenny Omega entrance as he makes his return in street clothes.

Willow hits the Pounce on Kris. Toni hits a hip attack on Kris, and Willow hits a Cannonball on both women. Willow then hits a Death Valley Driver on Toni, but Storm kicks out at two. Willow hits a double German Suplex on both women next. Toni tries pinning Willow, but Kris breaks it up. Willow is sent to the floor and Kris hits a Tombstone for the win!

Kris Statlander is the number one contender for the major first-time-ever Women's Casino Gauntlet Match.

Back from break and all three women are fighting in the ring. Toni goes for another crossbody, but they catch her and slam her. All three trade strikes and collapse.

Commentary reveals Kenny Omega is coming up next!

A bizarre spot happens later where Willow slingshots Toni face first into Statlander's crotch.

The winner of this match gets the #1 entry in the Women's Casino Gauntlet. Things start off hot, with neither keeping the upper hand for long. Eventually, Toni hits a big cross body onto both and the fans cheer her on.

Interestingly, all three are babyfaces.

From there, Toni Storm comes out with her weird plucky newcomer with amnesia gimmick. Kris Statlander comes out next and then Willow.

All three of these women are very good, but this match received very little hype. Let's hope they get time.

Next, we get a Mariah May promo. She mentions a Women's Casino Gauntlet next week. Harley Cameron interrupts. She asks for a match with May on Collision but with no title on the line. Harley says Mariah will "feel the wrath." Okay.

They are about to take care of Cope once and for all when Powerhouse Hobbs comes out and runs The Death Riders off. FTR checks on Cope as we go to break.

Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta make their way out. Out of nowhere, FTR jumps them from behind! Rated FTR and The Death Riders start brawling all over.

Marina Shafir and PAC show up and help The Death Riders take control. Mox then chokes Cope out.

Edge calls out Jon Moxley and says going after FTR was a massive mistake. He says nobody has done what he's done to be in the ring. Cope mentions breaking his neck against Eddie Guerrero. He mentions breaking his leg against Malakai Black. Cope asks what can Moxley do to him that hasn't been done before?

The Death Riders' music then hits!

Back from break and commentary reveals nobody has heard from Darby Allin since he was beaten down last week and he's fallen off the map.

Then "Cope" comes out. Such a bad name.

Jeff says he doesn't need MJF, he's not buying what MJF is selling, and calls him entitled before walking out.

Next up, Cope!

MJF says he can help Jeff prove it, and he'll help him win the world title, but in exchange, he's first in line for a title shot. Jeff takes the microphone and says MJF is a one-hit wonder. Jeff says he has been at rock bottom, and he knows how to crawl back to the top. Jeff said MJF could have entered the Casino Gauntlet but chose not to.

MJF calls Jeff a dinosaur and says the clock is ticking for him. MJF says he did some digging, and it turns out Jeff's final contract in AEW is for one year. He says he is embarrassed because he wanted a longer contract, but wrestling is forcing him out. MJF says Jeff only has one year to prove he still has it.

MJF grabs a microphone and calls Ian a "bible-thumping" p-word. He then says Jeff Jarrett hasn't met him and introduced himself. MJF says he wants his Triple B back. He notes several stars who aren't worthy of holding the title, but one man is, and mentions it being Jeff Jarrett.

Back in the ring, Ian is with Jeff Jarrett. He asks Jeff how he's feeling, saying everyone expected more. Jeff asks if he still has what it takes to climb that mountain when MJF's music interrupts.

As Powerhouse Hobbs leaves, Jeff Jarrett comes out, dejected he missed the ending of the match. We then get a preview for Christian Cage vs. Hook next week.

Renee asks Will about his journey. He awkwardly says, "Let's shoot for a second," and says Moxley brought him to AEW, but he's going to make Jon his "b***h" next week. That was weird.

As Jeff and Wheeler fight to the back, Powerhouse Hobbs nails Kyle O'Reilly with a slam and wins the match. That felt really out of nowhere.

This win means Hobbs will challenge Jon Moxley next week!

Next, Kyle O'Reilly comes out and lays out Wheeler Yuta and Lance Archer. He and Roderick then beat up Ricochet with big moves. Undisputed Kingdom works together to dominate, and then Jeff Jarrett comes out next to a big pop.

Wheeler Yuta jumps Jeff from behind as he comes out, though, and they battle up the ramp.

Next, Lance Archer comes out and this thing is filling up. He nails multiple chokeslams then has a stare down with Powerhouse Hobbs. The crowd chants "Meat" as they start throwing Ricochet back and forth then fight each other. Lance hits a Bossman Slam but Hobbs no sells it.

Back from break and Powerhouse Hobbs tosses Ricochet to the floor. He then slams Jay White hard. Next up, Roderick Strong comes out and he and Cole start to work together.

Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia come face-to-face and start trading slaps and chops. Ricochet and Yuta then toss him out. Next, Powerhouse Hobbs comes out! Wheeler Yuta notably has a red shoulder and chest from the strikes, showing wounds of war.

Cole nails Ricochet with the Panama Sunrise, but only gets a two count. Then Daniel Garcia is next out. He ends up clubbing away at everyone, hitting multiple punches.

The next entry is former WWE NXT Champion Adam Cole! He comes out and starts fighting everyone, throwing kicks and punches.

Ricochet comes out and starts to lay people out, but we then quickly go to break.

No! It isn't Swerve, it was a trick. Ricochet comes out instead and fans are not happy.

What happens if Wheeler wins? Would he fight Jon? Either way, Wheeler comes to the ring and immediately gets hit with The Switchblade, but Adam breaks up the count, not wanting to lose.

All three men are fighting with Adam Page sending Wheeler and Jay to the floor. Then the next entrant is Swerve!

Jay and Adam go back and forth, with Jay laying Adam out as the next entrant comes out... Wheeler Yuta of The Death Riders!

As a reminder, this is similar to a Royal Rumble, but with pinfalls and submissions. A somewhat standard Gauntlet Match, but bigger and more important. Page and Jay start trading strikes almost immediately.

Jay White starts things off! Adam Page drew number two! This is fun.

Post-match, The Hurt Syndicate attacks Mark, but Private Party runs out for the save!

Mark hits the Froggy Bow, and... Lashley kicks out AT ONE! Mark is shocked but tries to keep at it, only to eat a Spear. Lashley then nails a Spinebuster and The Hurt Lock for the win.

Bobby Lashley defeats Mark Briscoe by submission

Mark isn't seen moving until Bobby goes under the ring to grab him, and Mark hits him with a chair! The referee doesn't see it. Mark then puts the chair in the ring and dives off of it onto Lashley!

Briscoe then recovers and hits a dive off the top onto Bobby. MVP is furious!

Back from break and Mark Briscoe hits a big forearm and several chops on Lashley. He is firing up looking for the advantage. Lashley goes to slap Mark, but Mark fights it. Lashley then hits a cross chop and knocks Mark Briscoe to the floor and he lands HARD.

Mark does his best to fight off Lashley, but can't mount any sustainable offense. Eventually, Bobby levels Mark and we go to commercial break.

Next, Mark Briscoe comes out. He'll be going one-on-one with Bobby Lashley.

MVP has joined commentary. Lashley pushes Mark into the corner then humiliates him by patting Mark's head like a condescending big brother. Mark retaliates with chops.

Next, Private Party comes out and talks about being AEW Tag Team Champions. They talk about celebrating, but then The Hurt Syndicate's music interrupts matters. Bobby, Shelton, and MVP come out, saying they want to party.

MVP says this is a toast to Private Party. Lashley then says, "Let's hear it for The Hurt Syndicate taking the tag team titles." Their plans are revealed!

Post-match, Will gets on the microphone and says, "Give it up to Buddy Murphy," before correcting himself. Awkward botch. The crowd chants, "Buddy." Will says he and King don't need to follow a leader and says they have tag and singles gold in their future.

Will then says he'll see him soon, and if Buddy ever needs someone in his corner, he's his guy. The two then shake hands.

Could this be the end of House of Black? Could Malakai be leaving?

Buddy starts to get up and Will nails the Hidden Blade and this one is over.

Will Ospreay defeats Buddy Matthews by pinfall

Good match.

Buddy manages to recover, only to eat a big knee strike for a two count. Buddy tries to fight back, but Will hits a step up kick. Buddy counters with a GTS variation and a stomp for a two count, but Will kicks out! This is good stuff.

Will counters a move and nails the Styles Clash for a two count! Shades of The Phenomenal One!

The bout continues and Buddy hits a running knee to Will against the barricade. Will manages to fight back and hits a cutter on the floor, then a dropkick and cutter in the ring for a near fall.

Buddy hits a huge dive onto Will and then a Meteora in the ring for a near fall. Ospreay and Buddy then fight on the apron and Will gets thrown, landing jaw first on the announce table. He is in serious pain and the referee checks him out. This match might be stopped.

Will gets the advantage again after fighting out of a hold. He hits a springboard forearm-crossbody variation for a near fall. Ospreay then shows a lot of chest trouble. Commentary mentions he might be injured from Worlds End.

Will and Buddy continue to avoid each other, but eventually Buddy is sent to the floor and Ospreay hits a dive. Back in the ring, Buddy takes control and hits a big knee drop.
