AEW Dynamite Results, live recap, grades: Former WWE champion choked out, Bobby Lashley dominates, The Death Riders invade, major returns, heartbreaking Adam Cole update

Post-match, The House of Black help FTR up and shake their hands. Malakai is seemingly fine after a Spike Piledriver on the apron.

And that's it for the show!

Cash and Black fight on the apron. This leads to Black receiving a Spike Piledriver on the apron. Brody then dives onto FTR. Back in the ring, Brody hits a lariat for a two count! He hits another lariat and Dax kicksout again.

Brody locks in a sleeper on Dax and he passes out. Wow!

The House of Black defeats FTR by submission.

Black hits Cash on the floor. Brody and Black hit Dash with a double team move while Malakai hits a Moonsault to Cash. FTR recover and go for the Power and Glory, but Brody puts his knees up. Malakai then hits a double foot stomp on Dax, but FTR kick out.

FTR hit the Shatter Machine on Brody, but Black saves the day and stops the count.

After the last ad break of the show, Brody King tags in and begins taking out both members of FTR. He hits clotheslines on both men and then a double corner splash. He suplexes Cash Wheeler. He then hits a cannonball on both members of the FTR tag team. FTR manage to hit a powerbomb variation of the Doomsday Device for a two count.

Brody King starts things off. He takes care of both Dax and Cash. Malakai then tags in. He hits a Rana on Cash. Dax comes in and eats an arm drag. Dax tries to get the upper hand and Black intimidates him by sitting down. Harwood goes for a kick, but Black catches the foot. He fights off both members of FTR, but a double team clothesline on the floor puts FTR in control.

FTR sit down cross legged style and mock Black as we go to break.

After the break, Private Party come out and have a special table and chairs set up so they can watch this match. Then House of Black's music plays. Malakai Black and Brody King, the Kings of the Black Throne, will be the two in action. They are set to take on FTR who come out and take drinks with Private Party.

The winning team moves on to the Full Gear match.

Backstage, Renee interviews Jamie Hayter. She says she came back to write the wrongs. Right now, though, she's coming after one thing. The segment is then interrupted by a Julia Hart vignette. The vignette has Brody telling her it is time to come home.

Jamie is continually disrespected on this show.

Bobby Lashley goes back into the ring and throws Prince Nana into the ring post and he falls onto the apron and steel steps to close the segment.

MVP and Bobby Lashley make their way out, but Shelton isn't with them. The crowd chants "This is Bridgeport". Hilarious. They won't let Swerve's botch go.

While MVP talks, Shelton Benjamin attacks Swerve from behind. Lashley then lays Swerve out on the floor. Shelton intimidates Prince Nana in the ring. Lashley then throws Swerve in the ring and Shelton hits a DDT. MVP makesNana watch as Lashley lays Swerve out. Bobby then puts the Hurt Lock on Strickland as referees show up to break things up.

Loud "Bridgeport" chants.

Post-match, Swerve grabs a microphone. He calls out Bobby Lashley, but he inaccurately calls the town Stamford, Connecticut, and they boo him. That's a huge botch.

That poison rana on the floor was SCARY. Swerve could be hurt.

In the ring, Lio pins Swerve and holds the ropes, but the referee catches it. Rush hits a quick kick on Swerve and goes for another poison Rana, but Swerve catches him and nails him with his finisher for the win. Good match.

Back from the commercial and Swerve is in full control. Lio then manages to use Swerve's size and speed against him to get a near fall. Swerve is in pain. A smattering of "Swerve's House" chants. Lio tries a rana on the floor, but Swerve catches him. Eventually, Rush hits a poison rana on the floor and a lope! That causes a "this is awesome" chant and woke the crowd up.

Lio hits a Frog Splash in the ring for a two count.

Lio and Swerve do some athletic spots, but the timing seems a bit off. They then do a flip to the outside and the crowd likes that one. That was athletic from Swerve.

Strickland goes to the top, but Rush hits the ropes and Swerve goes to the floor.

From there, Swerve's music hits! He comes out with Prince Nana.

Swerve Strickland vs. Lio Rush

These two are both good. Swerve gets the upper hand early on and Lio struggles to handle it. Swerve keeps out wrestling him.

Post-match, Serena Deeb shows up on the stage and she and Britt Baker talk some trash silently.

From there, Renee welcomes Mina back. Harley Cameron interrupts and does silly comedy. A challenge is then made for Saturday.

Baker had her back to Penelope putting the glove on and got running knees to the back. Ford puts on a hold, but Baker reverses it into The Lockjaw and this one is over.

Back from break and Britt starts firing up. She takes down Ford multiple times before hitting a Sling Blade variant. Penelope drops Britt first face onto the corner and hits a back handspring elbow and a running boot. She then hits Baker with a forearm.

They try to do a cutter out of a matrix spot, but it looks messy. Penelope misses a Moonsault. Baker goes for a boot, but gets caught. Baker then hits a superkick, a spinning neckbreaker, and loads up the glove.

Britt and Penelope start fighting on the floor and Ford hits a forearm. She then hits knees from the top rope onto Britt's stomach on the apron as we go to another commercial break.

The 2024 Continental Classic kicks off in two weeks on Dynamite. Jericho vs. Ishii will be on the same show. Next, Britt Baker makes her way out! Penelope Ford comes out after. Women did not get much TV time last week. Hopefully this match gets time. This is Britt's return.

This should be interesting. They trade some holds early on before Britt hits a neckbreaker.

Renee is backstage with The Learning Tree. Jericho mentions when Ishii was a young boy for him in Japan. He brings up the two having a match a few years ago and then accepts a rematch for Dynamite soon.

Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir go to the truck angrily. Claudio catches up and joins them. They start to leave without Wheeler. Darby shows up and jumps into the truck so the truck stops moving. Claudio gets out and brutally destroys Darby, slamming him into the garage door. Wheeler then shows up and jumps into the truck.

Moxley approves of the Yuta-Cassidy match. He tells Orange to abandon all hope for Full Gear. The Death Riders then leave through the crowd, but then Darby Allin jumps off of the bleachers onto them!

A brawl then starts, but everybody fights off.

Orange Cassidy is joined by Rocky Romero and Mark Briscoe. He says he believes Moxley will do anything he wants because he has the AEW Championship. He says the title represents them, the people, and what pro wrestling can be. Orange says for a guy who doesn't like to wrestle, he does it more than anybody else there and he beat Jon before.

Orange says he needs to get rid of Wheeler Yuta. Cassidy challenges him to a match next week.

Moxley takes the microphone and blames Orange Cassidy for what happened to Chuck Taylor. He says the pressure is building, but O.C. is cool as a cucumber. He says he has to make an example out of him at Full Gear. He talks about controlling the AEW Championship and holding the power.

Then Orange Cassidy's music hits and he comes out.

From there, Claudio and Wheeler Yuta attack JD Drake with a steel chair on the entrance ramp. They go to the ring, as does Jon Moxley and Marina. They make a cameraman get into the ring with them.

Renee is backstage with Bobby Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate. She brings up his upcoming match with Swerve. MVP interrupts and takes the microphone. He brings up Lashley potentially ending Swerve's career. Lashley says he will hurt Swerve. MVP then says they'll be watching Swerve's match later tonight.

After teasing an Undisputed Era reunion, we see a truck pull up backstage. The Death Riders are here!

MJF is seen laughing, but Adam Cole sadly can't challenge him now. That is heartbreaking. Roderick Strong runs out but gets low-blowed. Kyle O'Reilly shockingly comes out to send Takeshita running. Ricochet then shows up on the ramp and fights Takeshita off.

Kyle helps Roddy up. Adam Cole puts his hand out to Kyle, but Kyle ignores it and walks out. Their animosity still exists.

Cole hits a Panama Sunrise and Takeshita goes to the floor. He pulls MJF's Diamond Ring from under the ring and hits Adam with it. He climbs in and pins Cole, and it's over!

Cole loses, now what happens with his match at Full Gear?

Back from break and Adam Cole is in control. Takeshita counters and hits a Blue Thunder Bomb. Cole fights back with a Pump Kick and goes for The Boom, but Takeshita reverses it only to be hit by a neckbreaker. Cole gets the two-count. Takeshita then hits a combination that includes a suplex and lariat for a two-count.

Adam Cole sends Takeshita to the floor and does his BOOM spot to the music before the music goes away. They then start trading strikes in the ring. Takeshita gets the upper hand just in time to go to the commercial.

Roderick Strong grabs a microphone and says at Full Gear, he's going to finish MJF. The crowd doesn't really react. Then Takeshita shows up! He jumps Roderick from behind. Adam Cole then makes his way out, stopping to take his jacket off before walking down to the ring. Cole and Takeshita then start brawling, and the match starts.

Roderick Strong takes a chair to Archer. Roderick then jumps over a barricade to nail a knee and pick up a win!

MJF is seen watching on. This was Strong's third win, meaning he'll fight MJF at Full Gear. It remains to be seen if Adam Cole will be there too.

After the break, Roderick Strong fights Lance Archer and Brian Cage in the crowd. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett show up to even the odds, although it's actually more than even as it becomes three on two. Archer fights off Taven and boots him while Bennett and Cage fight.

Archer is about to Chokeslam Taven, but the security misses their cue. When they finally get there, Taven is slammed onto them. It's a good spot besides the botch.

Roderick Strong shows up with a kendo stick. It is Falls Count Anywhere so the referee rings the bell while they fight on the stage.

Lance puts Strong through a table, but you can't see it due to bad lighting. The light comes on after... yikes. Production botch.

Ospreay accepts the offer and says he doesn't have feeling in his right hand and didn't even notice his son holding it. Kyle says he's coming to Full Gear for everything. Then Lance Archer and Brian Cage come out. Will says he has friends, too, and Mark Davis and Powerhouse Hobbs show up.

All six men start brawling. Davis and Kyle go face-to-face but don't fight. Then most start fighting off while Lance Archer waits for Roderick Strong to show up once his music hits!

Kyle says instead of talking about the past, he'll talk about what he will do. He will surpass anything Will has or will do. He then challenges Ospreay to a match at Full Gear. Will says this is what it was all about. He says Kyle wants his 15 minutes of fame and a PPV singles match. Will says since he's been here, there have been four world champions, and they can't match what he does on PPV. Shots fired.

Kyle says Don Callis didn't do anything but open his eyes to the truth. Kyle says Will helped him like he says, but he did it for himself, but for Fletcher. Kyle says everything Will does is for himself. He calls him selfish and a hypocrite.

Will says Kyle previously said he's nothing like Ospreay, but now says he's just like him. Will says he stabbed Omega in the back and Okada, but he was a world champion before then. He asks what Fletcher has done outside of Aussie Open. Will says he's done sod-all.

Will says he's been to these meetings and he isn't coming alone. He says whatever it is in his pocket, to show it, as he just wants to talk. Kyle throws out a screwdriver from his pocket. Will says he feels hatred and anger for a man he used to call his brother. He said he let Kyle in his house during the pandemic and opened the door for him in AEW.

Ospreay says Kyle knows everything about him. He says he wants answers from Kyle.

Back from break and Will Ospreay is here! He talks with Tony in the ring. Schiavone asks about Kyle Fletcher. Will suggests Tony leaves as he's calling out Kyle Fletcher. Will comes out and says Don Callis begged him not to come out, but he's here to prove he's not a coward. Kyle claims Will is one. He also warns Kyle not to put a finger on him, as The Don Callis Family is watching.

After running down the Full Gear card, Renee is backstage with Mercedes Mone and Kamille. She brings up Kris Statlander and Mercedes seems annoyed. She yells at Kamille for dropping her coat. Kris then shows up and they all start brawling. Kris spears Mercedes and Kamille, and herself, through a wall!

Jay White gets back in and starts to get the upper hand. Christian tries to stop it, but he eats a Cut Throat Suplex. Hangman does, too. Back on the floor, Jay hits the Blade Runner into the barricade. In the ring, Juice fires up with jabs on Hangman. He goes for a DDT, but Hangman counters. Juice counters that, and Mother Wayne gets on the apron and causes a distraction.

Kip Sabian hits Juice with a clipboard, and Hangman hits his finisher for the win.

Adam Page and Christian Cage defeat Juice Robinson and Jay White by pinfall

Things break down and Juice hits a brainbuster variant. Christian causes a distraction when Juice goes to the top and it allows Hangman to sweep the leg and crotch Juice on the ropes. Jay climbs the apron and Hangman thumbs his eye and hits a Lariat. That eye gouging was brutal.

Hangman and Juice on the ropes, but Juice slips and things nearly go badly, but eventually Page hits a Fallaway Slam from the ropes and a Powerbomb.

The distraction allows Juice Robinson to nail Christian on the floor. Finally, Jay gets the tag, and so does Hangman. Jay hits a Dragon Screw on Adam and then on Christian. Jay hits Adam with a DDT and then nails one on Christian too!

Juice Robinson tags in and he gets the upper hand over Christian. He nails repeated jabs, but a distraction from Adam Page allows for Cage to take the advantage. He throws Juice to the floor and Nick Wayne takes a cheap shot!

Christian works over Robinson more and throws him outside of the ring again. This time when Nick tries to interfere, Hook shows up and pulls the second-generation star over the barricade and brings him to the back!

"Hangman" Adam Page is out next. From there, Jay White and Juice Robinson make their way out.

Bang Bang Gang vs. Christian Cage and Adam Page

There are a lot of issues here, so which side will stand tall? Adam Page and Jay White start things off. The two lock up and go around the ring.

AEW Dynamite starts off with Christian coming out alongside the Patriarchy! The former world champion will be in tag team action.
