AEW Dynamite Results, live recap, grades: Retired star brutally injured by The Blackpool Combat Club, new world champion crowned, Ricochet recruited by major name

Outside, a truck shows up and Marina comes out, but Wheeler Yuta and Claudio show up with chairs in the ring from behind. They lay out Garcia and Private Party. Moxley shows up in camera man gear and throws the retired Chuck Taylor into the ring. A chair is stomped over his head as Orange Cassidy and others rush out.

The Bucks are show on the stage asking if "they should go". Medical staff rushes in as Orange Cassidy looks furious and devastated.

Kassidy takes the mic and says they proved they can beat them and they want a rematch. Daniel is trying to fire the crowd up but it isn't working. The Elite walk out, but Isaiah makes an offer. He says if they give them the match and Private Party lose, they'll break up. The Bucks then agree to it!

Next week: Private Party vs. The Young Bucks.

Garcia recovers and kicks Perry over the barricade. In the ring, Kassidy tries to fight off The Young Bucks, but Marq helps. Out of nowhere, Private Party gets a quick small package and win!

The Young Bucks are frustrated.

After the break, The Elite are still firmly in control. Perry makes sure Garcia is down ringside while Cassidy is being beaten up in the ring. Finally, Marq tags in and he takes out both members of The Bucks. He nails a powerslam on Perry and they eats a superkicks from The Bucks. Perry hits Kassidy with the poison rana for a near fall.

The Bucks hit a stomp and powerbomb combination, but Marq breaks the count up.

The Young Bucks take control. They hit a DDT/Swanton combination while Perry hits a DDT on the floor to Daniel Garcia. We then go to presumably the final break of the show.

An immediate brawl starts things off before the bell even officially rings, but it eventually does with Daniel Garcia and Jack Perry in the ring. Eventually, Private Party and The Bucks are in the ring with Private Party standing tall. Garcia and Perry start fighting again and the referee can't get control of this match for more than a few seconds.

During the match, we get a look at all of the wrestlers waiting outside for the Blackpool Combat Club still.

After the break, Private Party and Daniel Garcia make their way out for the main event. From there, The Young Bucks and Jack Perry.

This match will have an overrun.

After breaking kayfabe and calling Hook by his real name, Cage, Wayne, Wayne's mom, and Kip walk out. The main event is next.

The wrestlers waiting outside hope The Blackpool Combat Club has arrived, but it is instead Christian Cage who chases after Kip Sabian. They chase him to the ring and we see Hook walking backstage. He reveals the "scumbag" who attacked his dad is in the ring. He runs out and attacks Nick Wayne, but Kip Sabian low blows Hook.

Christian says he knows why Kip has been doing what he's doing. Christian tells him to get into the corner and he listens. Hook starts fighting back, but Christian nails him with the clipboard and Nick hits the Wayne's World. Christian then hits the Killswitch on the case! He tells "Tyler", Hook's real name, that this isn't what he thinks this is.

This is far too competitive. Mercedes tells Kamille to finish her and she hits a swinging DDT variation and this is over.

Kris Statlander comes out after and gets into the ring. Mercedes tries to hit her from behind, but Kris fights them both off. Mercedes then manages to distract Kris by grabbing her leg and Kamille lays her out with the DDT variation.

Back from break and Queen ducks a leg lariat. She hits a big forearm on Kamille and then a chop block. Aminata then hits a running elbow strike and a snap neckbreaker. Queen locks in a dragon sleeper, but Kamille fights out. They trade strikes and Kamille goes for a powerbomb but Queen reverses into a rana.

Kamille gets up and puts Queen Aminata in a Torture Rack and then slams her down in an ugly powerbomb variation.

Kamille dominates early, but Aminata uses her speed to get the advantage and even quickly pins Kamille for a one count. She covers Kamille again for a two. Kamille then catches her in a crossbody and hits a brutal backbreaker.

Renee asks Adam about the challenge and Adam walks up to Buddy backstage. He asks what the deal is. Buddy says to prove one point: that he's fragile. Yikes.

From there, Kamille makes her way out alongside Mercedes Mone.

Buddy takes a mic and says now that he's cleared, Buddy vs. Adam Cole BayBay next week. Cool match.

A different enhancement star tags in and Black tags back in nailing him with a kick. Buddy hits a knee and Brody hits a senton. Brody then splashes in the corner. The trio hit a dropkick/senton combo and then a double knee strike, powerbomb, and stomp combo. This is over.

House of Black defeats enhancement talent via pinfall

Next up, the House of Black make their way out. Tony says they are the winningest trio in AEW history.

Malakai starts things off. Black immediately kicks one guy to the floor. Another runs in and Black trips him. Buddy then tags in and hits a stomp on his arm.

After the break, we get a video on Penelope Ford cutting a promo on Jamie Hayter. She says her issues with Jamie is personal and they teamed up in Ford's last match. Penelope says Jamie was handed everything. We then get a promo from Jamie who brings up sleeping on floors and wrestling in community centers to get to where she is. Jamie says she's here looking for a fight and Penelope is nowhere to be found. She challenges Penelope to a match two weeks from tonight. This will be Ford's first match in two years.

MJF is show on-screen getting a massage. His masseuse is named Natalia, making her AEW debut. He says nobody will get their hands on him and he won't show up until Full Gear. He then says Cole and Roddy can race to wrestle him and whoever wins three matches first gets the match.

Cole, Roddy, Mike, and Matt then hug.

Matt says a year ago when Adam told them the plan, they said yes because it wasn't about Max, it was about them. Roderick then told Cole he's proud of him for working hard to come back from injury. Roderick then says as Adam's friend, he wants Max first. Cole says they're right and they'll finish it. He asks Max to come out so all four can whip him.

From there, we had a brief segment hyping up Kris Statlander and her issues with Mercedes. Then Adam Cole makes his way out. Before his promo can begin, Roderick Strong is heard shouting "ADAM". He and The Kingdom come out. Roddy tears down MJF. Mike Bennett says this group didn't form because of Max, but because of their friendship.

Post-match, Ishii's music plays and he makes his return eyeing Chris Jericho. The crowd doesn't react much, but Jericho is furious.

Mark hits the Jay Driller in the middle of the ring. Jericho hit his head with the table spot and might be injured.

From there, Mark climbs the ladder to keep the title, but Big Bill shows up and Chokeslams him off the ladder through a table before he can win. He then helps Jericho climb up and win.

Chris Jericho defeats Mark Briscoe to win the ROH Championship

"This is awesome" chants as they brawl back and forth until Jericho gets stuck in a ladder leg first. Mark lays Jericho on a table and starts to climb a ladder.Brian Keith shows up and starts to climb the ladder to stop Mark. Rocky Romero runs out, but is late, so there's an awkward stare down with neither man doing anything.

Mark jumps off of the ladder and crashes through it with Chris!

Mark hits a huge senton off of the ropes onto Jericho, mostly missing the ladder. Soon after the two fight on the ladder as the crowd cheers for Mark and boos Chris. Mark is knocked down, but Briscoe then topples the ladder over and both men are laid out.

In a huge botch, the camera blatantly caught Mark Briscoe blading before the break. Yikes.

Back from break, a bloody Mark hits a Death Valley Driver to Jericho through a ladder!

Mark is slow to get back into the ring and Jericho smashes Mark with a ladder. Briscoe is now bleeding all over as we go to break.

Jericho tries to mount a comeback, but Mark stops it. The two begin to fight on the apron and Mark knocks Jericho to the floor. Jericho lays against a ladder and Mark goes for a dive from in the ring to the ladder, but Jericho moves and Mark goes through it. WOW! He might be hurt.

Mark Briscoe quickly knocks Jericho off of the apron through tables. He doesn't want to end it, though, instead wanting to hurt Mark.

Excalibur confirms Chuck's career was ended by Trent earlier this year. Next up is Ladder War. Chris Jericho is out followed by Mark Briscoe.

Kyle O'Reilly comes out on the stage with Mark but goes to the back. The ROH Championship is on the line. Mark throws a ladder at Jericho immediately.

AEW stars are still in the parking lot. Chuck Taylor is shown as staff, I guess he's done wrestling. He talks to Orange Cassidy and brings up their past, encouraging him to deal with the BCC.

Brian Cage and Lance Archer come out next with Don Callis on commentary briefly to vent.

We get a look at Maple Leaf Wrestling where Takeshita and Don Callis were attacking Josh Alexander only for Ricochet to appear and save the day. Now in a backstage promo, he has another open challenge, this time on Rampage. MVP and Shelton show up. MVP says they have a tumultuous past but gives Ricochet his card for new beginnings.

Kyle brings up the past with Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay. He says he did to Will the same thing Ospreay did to Omega in New Japan. The fans tell him to shut up in a more vulgar way. Kyle says he will injure Will and turn his neck into dust. He says if he wants to be on top of AEW, he can be nothing like Will.

Don then pulls out a razor and Kyle starts shaving his head in the middle of the ring. He repeats he's nothing like Will. Very odd.

Kyle says once Will came, he stopped being called the next big thing and he instead was called the next Will Ospreay. He says he took the comparisons as insults because he's bigger, stronger, and faster than Will. He keeps talking and the crowd is chanting "wrap it up".

Next, Don Callis and Kyle Fletcher are out. Kyle talks down to Will and brings up a herniated disc that Will has. He's secretly injured! Kyle says fans are asking why and he says fans are just as much to blame as Will is.

Backstage, Renee tries to interview Mariah May, but she is throwing Anna Jay's luggage and gear down the hallway. This leads to Anna showing up and the two brawling.

Sammy finally begins fighting back and hits a dive to the floor. Shelton attempts a throw in the ring, but Sammy counters into a cover. Benjamin kicks out immediately at one and Sammy is in shock. Sammy springboards in the ring and eats a superkick. It seemed like they wanted to re-create Shelton vs. Shawn Michaels but it didn't look as good.

Benjamin nails another kick to Sammy and a knee before hitting an Exploder for the win.

Back from break and Shelton is in firm control. MVP is yelling to Shelton to finish Sammy, but Benjamin is having fun. The crowd is pretty quiet again. Sammy is in trouble.

Sammy tries fighting back, but eats a knee life and a throw for his trouble. The crowd is pretty quiet for this. Sammy starts fighting back and they wake up a little, especially once he hits a springboard moonsault! The crowd now chants "Sammy" as he goes for another dive, but MVP gets in the way.

Guevara tries another dive, but Shelton catches him and hits a vicious belly-to-belly overhead suplex on the floor!

Sammy Guevara comes out followed by Shelton Benjamin with MVP.

The Standard Of Excellence had a big win last week. How will it go this time? Shelton gets the advantage early, hitting a knee and a big throw.

Next up is a video package for Sammy Guevara. He talks about spending 5 years in AEW and how it changed his life, so he always tries to give them something to remember. He calls Shelton Benjamin one of the best. We then hear MVP and Shelton Benjamin talk about why they're in AEW, which is to hurt people, make money, and take over.

Jay takes a microphone and mentions Adam's leg hurting him and tells Page he'll never measure up to The Switchblade. He says they'll see each other real soon.

Hangman heads out to the back limping.

Hangman takes the mic from Tony and intimidates the legend. He starts ranting, but Colton Gunn shows up and jumps him. They fight to the floor and Gunn misses a diving attack and Hangman takes advantage. Back in the ring, Page takes out a belt to choke Gunn when Jay White and Juice Robinson come out. White takes Hangman down and he goes running.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and he brings out Hangman Adam Page. Daddy Magic, a former WWE NXT star, is the guest commentator with Taz still absent.

Dynamite begins with a recap of The Blackpool Combat Club taking over AEW last week. From there, we see Daniel Garcia, Mark Briscoe, Jeff Jarrett, and various others waiting for The Blackpool Combat Club in the parking lot.
