Well, Anirban Lahiri is tied at 8th place with three other golfers, while Udayan Mane finds himself languishing at the bottom. He is in 60th place out of 60 participants. 

Lahiri had a great opening day at the Tokyo Olympics. However, the other Indian player Udayan had a forgetful day. The latter will look to move up the position table and seal a position at the top to ensure qualification to the next stage of the event. Udayan still stands a chance to make it to the final round of the event as there are three more rounds to be played over the next three days.

He takes four shots to find the hole in the 17th and finishes it with a par. However, the 18th  doesn't go in his favour once again as she takes five shots to put the ball into the hole. A shot more than the par.

Udayan takes three shots to put the ball into the hole and finishes the 16th with a par. However, he's languishing at the bottom and will look to climb up the rankings table.

Lahiri has to hit the ball 369 meters away from the tee in four shots. He takes the first shot and hits it 56 meters from the center. A powerful shot sees the ball move 139 meters ahead. 

His second shot moves the ball 79 meters away. The third shot moves the ball 43 meters forward. He has one final shot to complete the 15th with a par. He takes two extra shots and completes the 16th with a Double Bogeys.

Udayan takes two shots extra to put the ball into the hole. He had to take the ball towards the hole, which was 572 meters away from the tee. But, the Indian golfer took seven shots to do the same. A Double Bogeys from the Udayan in the 14th.

Another par finish for the Indian golfer! He takes four shots to put the ball into the 13th hole. Udayan is currently in the bottom 1/3rd of the table.

With that, we're midway through Udayan S Mane's run in Round 1 of the event. Before moving to the second half, let's quickly run you through his stats and performance thus far.

He took 35 shots out of a par of 36 shots to put the ball into nine holes during the first half of Round 1. He started the round with three consecutive par's and then added a bogey (one-shot above par) to his tally.  Soon, had found the hole with a couple of birdies (a shot below par). Finally, he finished the first half of Round 1 with three birdies and a couple of bogies. He's currently tied at the 28th rank with 19 other golfers and will look to climb up the ranks during the second half of Round 1. We'll provide you with a detailed analysis post the completion of the first round.

Udayan S Mane hits the ball 18 meters from the center. The ball moves 196 meters away from the tee after the first shot. Not a good finish by him as he takes five shots to put the ball in the hole. With that, he finishes the 9th shot with a bogey.

Anirban Lahiri is all set to put the ball in the 18th hole! A par finish by the Indian in his 18th of the day. He makes clear moves and put the ball into the hole in four shots. With that, he ends his run in Round 1 on a decent note.

Mane has five shots to cover 536 meters to put the ball into the 8th hole. He takes the first shot 16 meters from the center, and the ball lands 264 meters away from the tee. 

Udayan Mane takes three more shots to put the ball into the hole. With that, he finishes the 8th with a birdie! The player is in the first 1/3rd of the table and will be eyeing a top finish at the end of today's play.

A par finish by Udayan Mane! He hits the first shot 4.73 meters from the tee. The ball moves 18 meters ahead of the tee. Mane takes another shot to get the ball on the same line as the hole. An easy finish for him as he sends the ball into the hole with ease.

Anirban Lahiri has to help the ball move 186 meters from the tee to the hole. He takes the first shot from the tee, which is hit 10 meters from the edge. The ball move 1.5 meters from the tee. The par is three shots, and the Indian will be keen to put the ball into the hole in the second shot.

Lahiri, you beauty! He has comfortably sent the ball in the hole. He finishes the 16th with a birdie.

Lahiri takes three shots to put the ball in Hole 15. He starts with 144 meters shot from the tee. He takes the second shot from the fairway and gets the ball on the same line as the hole. One final touch helps the ball into the hole. The par was four shots, but the Indian gets it done in three shots. He gets a birdie added to his tally!

Udyan Mane birdied the 5th and 6th! He took four shots to put the ball into the net during the 5th, with the par being five for the same. In the sixth, he took three shots to find the hole that was 337 meters away from the tee. With a couple of birdies, Udyan moves to the 28th rank and will look to improve his position by adding a few more birdies to his tally.

Anirban Lahiri has a difficult task in front of him! He has to hit the ball 572 meters from the tee to find the hole. 

He takes the first shot and hits it 37 meters from the center and 11 meters from the edge. The ball moves 290 meters ahead. In the second shot, the ball moves 98 meters from the fairway after Lahiri hit the ball 14 meters from the center and 3.02 meters from the edge.

He takes two more shots to get the ball on the same line as the hole and sends the ball into the hole during the fifth shot. A par finish by the Indian during the 14th hole.

The fourth hole hasn't been the best for Mane. He had to hit the ball 217 meters from the tee to find the hole in three shots. The Indian started off well but a mistimed shot saw the move on the green, which took him an extra shot to find the hole. He took four shots and a bogey for the fourth hole in Round 1.

Lahiri has to hit the ball 364 meters from the tee to get the ball into the hole. Het gets the ball into hole 12 with a par of four shots. The Indian golfer remains at rank 14 and will have to score with a birdie to move up the ranks.

Anirban Lahiri takes a bogie for the 12th hole in Round 1. Not a great move by the Indian as he takes one shot extra to find Hole 12. A small error has cost him a lot. He slips to 14th rank, having taken a shot extra to put the ball into the hole.

Udayan Mane has to hit the ball 420 meters from the tee to find the third hole. He hits the first shot 20 meters from the center, and the ball has travelled 157 meters from the tee. The ball is in the bunker now, and Mane hits the shot 11 meters from the center and 12 meters from the edge and pushes it 12 meters ahead.

He has two more shots in hand to put the ball into Hole 3 with a par. And, he does it! The Indian sends the ball into the third hole with a par. Hat-trick of par's for the 30-year-old golfer.

Mane takes four shots once again and sends the ball into the hole with a par. He has continued his excellent run in Round 1 and will look to get even better with time.

Anirban Lahiri needs to hit the ball 422 meters away from the tee to put the ball into the hole. He shoots 13 meters from the center in his first shot and sends the ball 143 meters away from the tee. He takes three more shots to find the hole and does so with a par on the 11th.

Udayan Mane starts his campaign on a positive note. The Indian hits the ball 131 meters from the tee in his first shot. He takes to more shots to get the ball on the same line as the hole, and then sends the balls comfortably into the hole. Mane takes four shots and starts with a par on the 1st hole.

Lahiri starts with 203 meters from Shot 1 in Hole 9! He takes the first shot 1.32 meters from the center and 12 meters from the edge. The par for Hole 9 is four shots. The Indian puts the ball in the hole with a birdie two on the ninth.

Anirban Lahiri starts with 271 meters shot to find Hole 8. He has to hit the ball 536 meters away from the tee to send the ball into the hole. The par strokes for this hole is 5. 

He plays the second stroke 31 meters from the center and 3.41 meters from the edge. The ball moves 46 meters further with that shot. He adds 2.69 meters from the third shot. The Indian golfer will look to put the ball in during the fourth shot. 

Well, the Indian takes five shots to put the ball in the hole. He finishes Hole 8 with a par.

Anirban Lahiri will have to hit the ball 337 meters away to find hole 6. He starts off with 92 meters shot from the tee. The first shot was hit 8.01 meters from the center and 6.24 meters from the edge. He takes the second shot 1.07 & 6/31 meters from the center and edge, respectively. He has hit a 1.37 meters shot from the fairway. 

He sends the ball in with a birdie on the sixth.

The next shot will be a tough one for Lahiri. He'll have to hit the ball 585 meters away from the tee to pocket the ball in Hole 5. 

He hits 297 meters from the tee in his first shot. The Indian golfer hits the ball 87 meters away from the fairway in his second shot. The ball is in the rough now and Lahiri hits the third shot 2.40 meters from center and 5.27 meters from the edge. He takes a birdie for the fifth hole in round 1.

Lahiri will have to hit the ball 217 meters away to help the ball into the fourth hole. This time, the Indian golfer takes only three shots to send the ball into hole 4 from the tee. 

Among both Indian golfers, Lahiri is the one to watch out for and is likely to progress to the next round of the event too.
