India's wait for an archery medal continues and eyes will now be on Bhajan Kaur and Deepika Kumari in the Individual competition. The duo will be in action tomorrow so make sure you're they to cheer them on.

After a long day, Ankita and Dhiraj do not have a medal to show. There is bound to be some sense of disappointment since they came so close on two occasions.

While a brilliant start against South Korea did not yield the desired result in the semifinal, they failed to catch up with the US after falling behind in the bronze medal match. Both Ankita and Dhiraj had their moments, but they never quite peaked at the same time and that is what made the difference.

India (8, 9, 8, 10) 2-6 (10, 9, 9, 9) USA

Ankita into the red again with an 8. Dhiraj followed with a 9, but the American stayed strong with a 10 and a 9.

A three-point swing was needed, but Ankita's second consecutive 8 sealed India's fate. Dhiraj ended with a 10, but the Americans ended with a 10 and a 9 to take the bronze.

HEARTBREAK for India as Ankita and Dhiraj miss out on what would have been a historic medal!

Ankita finally made a perfect start after two shaky ones and Dhiraj followed it with a 9. Brady continued his strong run with a 10, but a 7 from his partner finally put India ahead in a set!

India took it with a 9 from Ankita and a 10 from Dhiraj! The US team's score was never going to touch the Indian team's 38.

Ankita and Dhiraj still need to win the next set to push for a tiebreaker!

India (7, 10, 9, 9) 0-4 (10, 8, 10, 9) USA

In a nightmare, Ankita opened with a repeat 7 only for Dhiraj to steady the ship with a 10. Brady was perfect, but an 8 from his partner kept India in contention!

Ankita's 9 followed by another from Dhiraj was never going to be enough to stop the Americans. A must-win set coming up for India to keep their medal hopes alive!

India (7, 10, 10, 10) 0-2 (10, 9, 10, 10) USA

A near-perfect start for the American duo with a 10 and 9 and Ankita faltered at the start to shoot a 7. Dhiraj hit bull's eye, but the deficit was huge.

The Americans sealed the opening set with two 10s! Whatever India did from there would not have been enough, but Bhakat found her form back with a 10. Dhiraj also hit the maximum. Can they carry the form into the next set?

The archers have made their way onto the shooting range at Les Invalides and introductions are underway. India on Target 1 this time!

It's official, India will take on the USA for the bronze. The Americans came up short against their German opponents in the second semifinal, losing 3-5.

Live action for the bronze medal match featuring Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara and the USA's Casey Kaufhold and Brady Ellison in just a few minutes' time!

Korea def. India 6-2

The Indian duo was unable to convert a stellar start into a win and it was Dhiraj, who wavered at a couple of crucial arrow. A shame given the way he has played all day!

But with Ankita also hitting top form just in time for the bronze medal match, all the Indian need is for Dhiraj to regain his focus and they can still end up on the podium!

The Indian duo will take on either the USA or Germany for bronze at 7.54 pm IST, so make sure you're back to cheer for the duo!

Shooting first, Ankita and Dhiraj both shot 9s, opening a the door for Korea, who stormed it open with two 10s!

Ankita came up trumps with a 10 and her partner her partner also found a centre! Korea, however, showed their class to end with a 9 and 10 to end India's hopes for the gold!

Lim stayed in the gold for a 9 to open the third set, but her partner shot a perfect 10 after a rather long hold! Ankita missed 10 by a whisker in her first arrow, while Dhiraj also shot a 9 to trail by one point.

Shaky from Lim but she just clips the 9, but her partner steady as a rock. India needed two 10s and Ankita delivered, but Dhiraj shot the lowest score since the opening arrow for an 8. Disappointment was clear on his face.

Ankita's 9 was upgraded to a 10 later, but it still wasn't enough. WAFER-THIN MARGINS!

A must-win set coming up for India!

The Koreans came back with vengeance, with both their archers hitting bull's eye. Ankita veered off into the red for an 8 and even Dhiraj could managed only a 9 to fall behind.

Lim and Kim both hit 9s, with the latter's arrow only just skimming the line. It was, however, enough to see them take the set as the Indians hit two insignificant 9s.

Korea off to a shaky start as Lim opens with an 8 and her partner following it up with a 9.

Ankita was steady with a 9, but Dhiraj put Korea under pressure with a perfect 10!

Korea came back with a 9 and a 10, but India was brilliant with both Ankita and Dhiraj repeating their 9 and 10! India takes the opening set and crucial 2 points!

South Korea gets Target 1 and India Target 2 as the announcer introduces the archers amid a huge applause, except top-draw action!

The Indian duo will look to make the final and assure themselves of a medal, but face an uphill battle against South Korea's Lim Si-hyeon and Kim Woo-jin, who had finished the ranking round at No. 1 with an Olympics record no less!

The semifinal is slated to be played at 7.01 pm IST!

After the disappointment in both Team and Individual events, ace Indian archers Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara are eyeing redemption in the Mixed Team competition.

And what a day they have had!

After outclassing their Indonesian opponents in the opening round, Ankita and Dhiraj got the better of Spain's Elia Canales and Pablo Acha Gonzalez in a tighter 5-3 contest to book their place in the semifinals.

So don't go anywhere as we bring you all the live updates from the Les Invalides.

India beat Spain 5 - 3 (38-37, 38-38, 36-37, 37-36)

Dhiraj Bommadevara, take a bow! Six 10s in Eight arrows from the Indian archer, and it's his precision and accuracy that sees India march through to the semi-finals of the Mixed Team Archery Event.

India did well to win the first set and tie the 2nd, but 8s from Ankita Bhakat in both the 3rd and 4th sets put India in a spot of bother.

However, Spain slipped up a tad bit more in the final set, and Dhiraj's 10 with his final arrow put immense pressure on Spain to deliver back-to-back 10s to win the match, but unfortunately for them, they could only produce one.

Terrific stuff from both of India's top archers from qualifying. Ankita Bhakat, will, however, want to cut those 8s out of her game ahead of what will be a crucial match.

India will now take on the winner of the quarter-final between South Korea and Italy in the semi-final, with that match set to take place at 07:01 PM IST.

India 5 - 3 Spain (At the end of Set 4)

India (9, 10, 8, 10) 37 - 36 Spain (9, 8, 9, 10)

Ankita Bhakat has struggled to find the 10 so far, and her 9 was very close to the 8-line. Dhiraj has no problem doing so, however, and he hits another perfect 10 in the inner circle.

Spain responds with a 9 through Pablo Acha, but OHH! Elia Canales slips up with an 8! India with a huge chance to win this match!

No! Ankita Bhakat with another 8, but Dhiraj Bommadevara almost salvages this for India with a perfect 10 again!

Spain need 20 in their last two arrows to save this match, and they can't manage it! India are through to the semi-finals.

Pablo can't find the 10, and despite Canales' 10 to finish off, India win the 4th set 37-36, and make it to the semi-finals!

India 3 - 3 Spain (At the end of Set 3)

India (9, 9, 8, 10) 36 - 37 Spain (10, 10, 8, 9)

Ohh, wonderful 10 to start off from Pablo Gonzalez, and Elia Canales piles the pressure on India as she also scores a 10!

Ankita Bhakat can only manage a 9 with her first shot, and Dhiraj can only do the same with his next shot, giving Spain a 2-point lead midway through the set.

Ohh, Pablo Gonzales falters with an 8 there, and brings India right back into this set, and Elia Canales scores a 9 off her last shot.

India need 19 to tie the set and 20 to win the match, but no! Ankita Bhakat scores an 8, and despite a perfect 10 from Dhiraj Bommadevara, Spain take the 3rd set, and we're all level at 3-3 heading into the final set.

India had a chance there, but they couldn't close the game out. Will this cost them?

India 3 - 1 Spain (At the end of Set 2)

India (10, 9, 9, 10) 38 - 38 Spain (9, 10, 10, 9)

Spain to start proceedings in the 2nd set, and Pablo Gonzalez starts with a 9 before Elia Canales scores her second 10 of the match. India's turn now and what a shot from Ankita Bhakat! A 10 in the inner ring to start off for her, and this time, Dhiraj Bommadevara scores a 9.

In the 2nd round of arrows, Spain manage another 10 and a 9, leaving India needing 19 to tie the set. Ankita Bhakat scores a 9, and with 10 needed to tie the set from Dhiraj's last arrow, and he does it! Great stuff under pressure from Dhiraj, and that results in a tied set.

India 2 - 0 Spain (At the end of Set 1)

India (9, 10, 9, 10) 38 - 37 Spain (9, 10, 9, 9)

Once again, a solid start from India that. Ankita Bhakat begins with a 9 before Dhiraj Bommadevara sends in a 10. However, Spain respond in kind, with World No. 5 Elia Canales contributing the 10 for Spain.

In the 2nd round of shots, Ankita Bhakat scores another 9, and that's terrific from Dhiraj Bommadevara! Another 10 from India's highest-ranked male archer, and that could be crucial for India here.

Spain needs 19 from their two arrows to tie the set, but both Spanish archers can only manage a 9!

India win the first set, and that's huge for the Indian archers in this Quarter-Final.

Archers for both teams have made it out to the range.

It's also confirmed that if India makes it to the semi-finals, they will take on the winner of the 2nd quarter-final between South Korea and Italy.

They'll now go up against Spain's Elia Canales and Pablo Acha Gonzalez, who beat China 6-2, with the match going down to the 4th set. Both archers seemed in reasonably good form, finding the 10s in clutch moments.

India finished 5th in the overall Mixed Team rankings after the Ranking Round, while Spain could only manage a 13th-place finish.

However, in the World Archery Rankings, Spain is ranked 7th in the Mixed Team category, while India is ranked 9th.

Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara comfortably got past Indonesia's Diananda Choirunisa and Arif Pangetsu in the 1/8 Elimination Round, taking only three sets to beat them 5-1. Both archers were able to consistently hit 10s, and more importantly, never scored less than a 9 with a single arrow.

India beat Indonesia 5 - 1 (37-36, 38-38, 38-37)

A comfortable win for India against Indonesia as both Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara were in sublime form and didn't waste any time wrapping things up quickly in this Round of 16 Contest.

Ankita Bhakat fired three 10s in a row toward the end of the match, with Dhiraj hitting 10 twice early on, and with neither archer shooting anything less than a 9, India were in complete control, winning the first and third sets, while tieing the second.

They will face the winner of the next Round of 16 match between Spain and China in the Quarter-Final, with that match set to take place at 05:45 PM IST.

India 5 - 1 Indonesia (At the end of Set 3)

India (10, 9, 10, 9) 38 - 37 Indonesia (9, 9, 10, 9)

Indonesia begins the 3rd set with two 9s, and Ankita Bhakat finds the 10 early on for India! Crucial shot that! Dhiraj can only manage a 9, but that's still a 19-18 lead for India at the mid-point of Set 3.

Indonesia with their backs to the wall, but Choirunisa delivers a 10 under pressure, and Pangetsu manages a 9. India need 19 from their next two arrows to win this match, and once again, Ankita Bhakat scores a 10! Dhiraj Bommadevara needs a 9 or better to help India get through to the quarter-finals and he does it!

India beat Indonesia in the Round of 16 and progress through to the Quarter-Finals!

India 3 - 1 Indonesia (At the end of Set 2)

Indonesia to start first this time around, and Choirunisa gives them a great start with a 10, with Pangestu backing it up with a solid 9. Ankita Bhakat scores her 3rd 9 in as many shots, with Dhiraj finding the 10 to bring India on level terms.

In the 2nd round of arrows, Choirunisa starts off with a 9 that's really close to the 8-line, but Pangetsu delivers with a 10, leaving India needing 19 to tie the set.

Ohh, what a time for the 10 to come from Ankita Bhakat! Dhiraj can only manage a 9, but it's enough for India to tie the set. The score's 3-1 now in India's favor.

India 2 - 0 Indonesia (At the end of Set 1)

India (9, 10, 9, 9) 37 - 36 Indonesia (9, 10, 8, 9)

Good start from India as Ankita Bhakat hits a 9, with Dhiraj Bommadevara following up with a 10. The Indonesian archers match them arrow for arrow, however.

In the 2nd set of arrows, Ankita Bhakat hits another 9, with Dhiraj also firing a 9, taking India to a total of 37. Choirunisa's 8 with her 2nd shot gives India the edge in this Set, and Pangetsu is unable to find the 10, and India takes the first Set as a result. Good start for Ankita and Dhiraj here.

Paris Olympics 2024 Archery mixed team: India vs Indonesia preview, prediction, and where to watch

On paper, India is the higher-ranked team both at the Ranking Rounds and according to the World Rankings, but as has been proved by India's under-performance in both the team events, archery is really about whether you turn up on the day of the contest.

So far, Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara haven't fared well on that front, and they'll be desperate to make the most of their last action in Paris 2024.

Neither of these four archers has had much success in their respective Individual and Team events at this Olympics, with Diananda Choirunisa the only archer still in the hunt for a medal outside of this Mixed Team event. She has a Round of 16 Clash with India's Bhajan Kaur tomorrow in the Women's Individual Event.

Up against India will be Indonesia, with Arif Pangetsu and Diananda Choirunisa, the two archers representing them. Indonesia finished 12th in the Mixed Team Ranking Round, and as a result, take on India, who finished 5th overall.

Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara had stellar outings in the Ranking Round, with the former finishing 12th, and the latter 4th. However, both faltered in their respective Individual and Team events, with Dhiraj suffering a heartbreaking shoot-off loss in the Round of 16 Individual event despite giving it his best.
