FULL-TIME: SC East Bengal 0-2 ATK Mohun Bagan

In what was generally an even game with both sides creating a good number of chances to score, it was the clinicality of ATK Mohun Bagan that triumphed. Roy Krishna gave them the lead, Manvir Singh doubled it, and in between, Balwant Singh gave Bagan lifelines by missing a couple of sitters.

Pilkington was outstanding, but East Bengal couldn't get Matti Steinmann on the ball in the second half (I don't think I mentioned him on the commentary after half-time).

In the end, bragging rights with ATK Mohun Bagan, they have a second straight win, and a second striaght clean-sheet. Fowler and east Bengal will take encouragement from this, though.

90+2' Manvir! That is an awful pass from Angousana, who gives it straight to Manvir on the right flank. He drives forward on the right wing, but skiues his shot eventually.

Manvir chases down a lost cause, and breezes past Narayan Das. He is running straight at Debjit's goal, checks back onto his left foot, and fires it straight into the top corner. What a goal!

63' Just over from Maghoma! Pilkington gets on the ball and drives at the Bagan defence, and finds space for a pass through to Maghoma. The man from DR Congo puts plenty of pace on a left-footed shot, but that has gone over the bar.

59' What a chance for Balwant! He's fluffed his lines again! Pilkington sets off the move with a sensational back-heel towards Loken, who drives forward towards the box. he plays Balwant through on the left flank, but the striker shanks his left-footed shot, and Arindam has no problem.

58' It looks like East Bengal have now gone to a flat back four. Ambekar has gone to right-back, with Surchandra more advanced on the flank.

58' Robbie Fowler makes his first change of the game, as Rana Gharami goes off, after two attempts at recreating his worldie from a couple of seasons ago.

54' Jhingan is lucky that he doesn't get booked there. The referee had already blown for a Jihngan foul on Loken, the centre-back then follows the play to clatter into Surchandra.

53' Maghoma goes into the referee's book now. East Bengal give the ball away in their attacking third. Javi then breaks with the ball, and Maghoma brings him down on the halfway line.

51' Err, why has Rana Gharami taken a shot from near the halfway line? Arindam wasn't even off his line. That has gone high, wide, and it's not so handsome.

What a sensational goal that is. Jayesh drives forward from midfield, then finds Javi. He turns well, and finds Krishna. Neville doesn't close him down early enough, and Krishna takes his shot with his left foot. The shot goes under Debjit's left arm, he really should be doing better there.

47' Krishna gets in between Rana and Fox, as he looks to to get on the end of a long ball from Tiri. The Spaniard, though, overhits his pass, and East Bengal have a goal-kick.

HALF-TIME: SC East Bengal 0-0 ATK Mohun Bagan

It has been en entertaining half of football, with East Bengal looking the part for most of it. In fact, they have been the more consistent threat in attacking areas. Debjit Majumder started the half a tad shakily but produced a stunning save off a Javi Hernandez shot. Balwant Singh should have put East Bengal ahead, but fluffed his lines. Fowler will be pleased, though, as East Bengal have dominated the play with Pilkington, Maghoma and particularly Steinmann producing excellent performances.

45+2' Narayan's corner is a little too deep for an East Bengal head to get on it, and that has come to nothing

45+2' East Bengal have a corner to finish the first half. Maghoma rides a couple of challenges, and plays a cross, which Subhasish gets in the way of. Pilkington could have taken the ball on and done something, but chooses to take the corner.

44' Surchandra does more excellent work down the right flank, as he easily dribbles past Subhasish before crossing the ball. Jhingan is there to head it away though.

42' And now, Jayesh looks to sting East Bengal, but doesn't. Nice spell of possession end switch Jayesh finding himself in space within shooting range. But his shot is high and wide, with Debjit happy to see it not trouble him.

41' Bagan are trying to take the sting off the game here. They have been under pressure from an excellent East Bengal performance so far.

38' What has Balwant done? He has got to score! Brilliant cross from Surchandra, who takes the whole Bagan defence out of teh game. Balwant looks to divert it towards goal with the outside of his right foot, but he gets the contact horribly wrong and the shot has gone wide.

36' Much better corner from Javi this time, but it is wellcleared by East Bengal. Balwant leads the counter-attack, but he shows Pritam a little too much of the ball. The Bagan makes an easy tackle.

36' Big save from Debjit! Subhasish's throw-in finds Javi in the box. He produces a superb bit of skill to get it out of his feet, and takes a shot towards teh far-post, but Debjit gets a fingertip on it.
