23:28 (IST)28 NOV 2022

23:26 (IST)28 NOV 2022

A couple of tweets before we sign off.

23:26 (IST)28 NOV 2022

STAT courtesy BBC: Brazil are unbeaten in a record 17 World Cup group games, a run going back to 1998 (when they lost 2-1 to Norway).

23:24 (IST)28 NOV 2022

FULL-TIME! Brazil 1 Switzerland 0. Brazil book their place in the round of 16 with their 2nd win in a row. They join France there. Casemiro's late winner enough to see off a stubborn Swiss side who defended well but did not create anything to deserve something from the game.

23:23 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Manuel Akanji in the space of a couple of minutes saves his side twice with great defending. First he nicks the ball from Vinicius in a one-on-one and then with Rodryo again having a clean strike at goal with only Sommer to beat, he steps across to stick a foot in and divert the shot away.

23:18 (IST)28 NOV 2022

6 minutes of added time.

23:16 (IST)28 NOV 2022

More changes as Frei replaces Widmer in an attacking change for Switzerland and Alex Sandro is replaced by Alex Telles for Brazil.

23:15 (IST)28 NOV 2022

STAT courtesy BBC: Nine of Brazil's last 10 World Cup goals have been scored in the second half.

23:11 (IST)28 NOV 2022

GOAL! Casemiro in the 83rd minute! Brazil 1 Switzerland 0. Brazil score and this time there are no doubts. Vinicius on the left passes it to a team-mate who flicks it to Casemiro in the penalty box who lashes a half-volley first-time on the rise into the far corner. Unstoppable shot and Brazil can celebrate now with gusto.

23:04 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Switzerland make two changes as well, replacing Embolo and Sow with Aebischer and Seferovic.

23:01 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Double change for Brazil: Gabriel Jesus and Antony are on for Richarlison and Raphinha.

22:53 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Brazil score but VAR are checking this. It is disallowed for offside. There is an overload in midfield and a Swiss defender kicks aimlessly and misses, Vinicius is fed on the inside-left channel, he skips a sliding tackle and opens his body to pass it into the bottom corner. He runs away in celebration but VAR check and Richarlison was coming back from an offside position and was impacting play which led to the goal being chalked off. The right call as well.

22:50 (IST)28 NOV 2022

STAT courtesy BBC: Brazil are still yet to face a shot on target at the World Cup so far. The last team to go through the first two games of a World Cup without facing a shot on target were France in 1998.

22:49 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Switzerland too make a couple of changes: Edimilson Fernandes and Renato Steffen for Ruben Vargas and Fabian Rieder.

22:49 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Brazil replace Fred with Bruno Guimaraes.

22:45 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Chances at both ends now - Alisson is almost closed down by Embolo as he tries to play out from the back and then at the other end Vincius' ball to the middle just misses Richarlison's toe as he stretches full-length to try and tap that in.

22:41 (IST)28 NOV 2022

A couple of yellows - one each for Switzerland and Brazil. Rieder tries to block Rodrygo and is booked. Fred miscontrols and cynically clips Sow and is caught by the referee.

22:35 (IST)28 NOV 2022

At half-time, Brazil have made a change: Lucas Paqueta has gone off and another Real Madrid man Rodrygo has come on.

22:34 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Second half starts.

22:17 (IST)28 NOV 2022

HALF-TIME! Brazil 0 Switzerland 0. An uninspiring half from both sides. The best chance fell to Vincius who miscued his side-foot attempt. Apart from that, Brazil really miss Neymar who was their chief creator.

22:04 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Breel Embolo is the only man up top as Swiss opt to have the remaining in their half and park the bus.

22:02 (IST)28 NOV 2022

30 minutes of action as Brazil press but no breakthrough yet.

22:01 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Raphinha cuts in from the right on to his favored left-foot and shoots but it's straight at Yann Sommer who catches easily.

21:59 (IST)28 NOV 2022

A real chance for Vinicius on the left at the far-post as he Raphinha finds him but the Real Madrid man thighs it and Yann Sommer can push it away to safety. Did not get the connection he needed.

21:51 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Lucas Paqueta on the left crosses a ball into the middle of the box for someone to tap in but a Swiss defender clears it away.

21:47 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Free-kick to Switzerland about 40 yards out but Swiss play it short and the attack fizzles out.

21:36 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Brazil have started nervously a the back as Switzerland with their high-press produce a couple of moments. But the danger is cleared easily.

21:30 (IST)28 NOV 2022

KICK-OFF!

21:29 (IST)28 NOV 2022

The anthems are done. We should be ready for kick-off.

21:23 (IST)28 NOV 2022

The players are in the tunnel and we should have the anthems next.

21:11 (IST)28 NOV 2022

The players are out for the warm-ups.

21:11 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Swiss make one change from their 1-0 win against Cameroon - Former Liverpool midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri is replaced by Fabian Rieder.

20:51 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Switzerland subs:

Haris Seferovic, Renato Steffen, Ardon Jashari, Christian Fassnacht, Denis Zakaria, Edimilson Fernandes, Fabian Frei, Michel Aebischer, Xherdan Shaqiri, Eray Cömert, Fabian Schär, Gregor Kobel, Jonas Omlin, Philipp Köhn

20:51 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Brazil subs:

Antony, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Pedro, Rodrygo, Bruno Guimaraes, Éverton Ribeiro, Fabinho, Alex Telles, Dani Alves, Gleison Bremer, Ederson Moraes, Weverton

20:16 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Fred earns a rare start in midfield, while Eder Militao will deputize for Danilo at right-back. Despite facing a few injury troubles, Brazil's starting XI looks top-class on paper, it has to be said.

20:14 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Official Switzerland XI:

Sommer, Widmer, Akanji, Elvedi, Rodriguez, Freuler, Xhaka, Rieder, Sow, Vargas, Embolo.

20:14 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Official Brazil XI:

Alisson, Militao, T Silva, Marquinhos, Sandro, Fred, Casemiro, Paqueta, Raphinha, Vinicius Jr, Richarlison.

19:58 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Switzerland looked good against Cameroon and are coming on the back of a deserved 1-0 win, with Breel Embolo scoring the solitary goal of the game. The Europeans have ruffled a few feathers at major tournaments over the years, but can shock the record world champions at Stadium 974 in Qatar?

19:54 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Additionally, there have been rumors that a few players from the Brazil camp have been suffering from flu-like symptoms, most notably Alisson Becker, Lucas Paqueta and Antony.

Tite has a lot to ponder as he prepares to guide Brazil to the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

19:53 (IST)28 NOV 2022

Brazil will be without Neymar, who picked up an ankle injury in the 2-0 win against Serbia last week. Tite has a handful of options to replace the PSG superstar, but who will he turn to?
