A wildly entertaining game of football comes to an end with Chennaiyin emerging 3-1 victors over Jamshedpur at the Marina Arena.

The Marina Machans dominated the first half, but the Red Miners held strong to initially prevent a breach of their defense. Chennaiyin went close twice through Fallou Diagne and Prasanth Karuthadathkuni, before opening the scoring in the 27th minute. Julius Duker released Jockson Dhas, one of many changes made by Thomas Brdaric, down the right. Dhas' shot was saved by TP Rehenesh but Petar Sliskovic was on hand to head home his second goal in two games.

Jamshedpur were much more positive in the second half, but Chennaiyin largely held firm. However, Aidy Boothroyd's men hauled themselves level through a moment of magic from Ishan Pandita. Pratik Chaudhari's long ball was headed on by Harry Sawyer and Pandita reeled away from Diagne before firing a volley past Debjit Majumder to make it 1-1 in the 76th minute.

Brdaric responded by bringing on Vincy Barretto and Nasser ElKhayati and the duo had an instant impact as Chennaiyin went back in front. Duker was in the thick of things once again as he found ElKhayati down the left. The Dutchman crossed it for the onrushing Barretto, who volleyed into the ground and past Rehenesh less than a minute after Jamshedpur's equalizer.

ElKhayati then went on to seal the deal with a wonderful solo goal in the 85th minute. After receiving the ball from Duker in the box, he sat Peter Hartley down and with Rehenesh committed, the winger finished into the net with his right foot to put the game to bed.

Chennaiyin have now moved to fifth in the table with 10 points from six matches. Jamshedpur, meanwhile, remain ninth with just four points from six games and have a mountain to climb.

An error from Pratik sees the ball reach Duker, who slips ElKhayati in with a superb reverse pass. The Dutchman sits Hartley down with a number of beautiful touches before finishing into an empty goal.

Jamshedpur fail to clear and Duker wins the ball at the edge of the box. He sets it back for Sliskovic, whose curler is inches wide with Rehenesh stranded.

Chennaiyin work the ball down the left and Sliskovic finds Edwin on the edge of the box. He fires towards goal but it's just over and onto the roof of the net.

The teams enter the tunnel with Chennaiyin holding a deserved 1-0 lead. Jamshedpur have yet to get a shot on target, though they did enjoy a good spell at the end of the half.

Some fantastic play from Duker sees him find Jockson in space down the left, he races forward and shoots at Rehenesh who pulls of a superb save. However, it goes straight to Sliskovic who heads home to make it 1-0!

25' Chennaiyin once again pressurize the Jamshedpur defense as Sliskovic is released on the left, he sizes his man up and finds Prasanth, whose cutback is cleared by Pratik.

23' Chennaiyin on the prowl again! Jockson is fed by Sourav down the left, he finds space and crosses it in but it evades Sliskovic and Rehenesh collects before Prasanth can reach it.

16' Substitution for Jamshedpur as Wellington Priori is taken off with a groin issue. He's replaced by Seiminlen Doungel.

12' WHAT A HIT FROM FALLOU! A free-kick near the half-way line is worked forward and headed by Vafa. It falls for Fallou just outside the box and his shot flies just inches over Rehenesh's crossbar.

10' Now Chennaiyin get a chance! A swift counter sees Prasanth collect the ball on the left, he gets past a defender and sets it back for Jockson, whose flick is met by a Sliskovic volley but it flies over.

7' Jamshedpur go close! A long throw from the right is towards Pratik, who heads it over from close range.

The Red Miners won the first game 1-0 courtesy of Enes Sipovic's 90th-minute goal. They then won the return fixture 4-1, with Ritwik Das, Boris Singh, Daniel Chukwu and Greg Stewart finding the back of the net. Nerijus Valskis netted Chennaiyin's only goal of the contest.

Some major changes for both teams!

Chennaiyin will be without captain Anirudh Thapa and young midfield general Jiteshwor Singh due to injury. We are given to understand that Thapa's injury is a little more serious than Jiteshwor's. Rahim Ali also misses out due to a tactical tweak. Youngsters Sajal Bag, Jockson Dhas and Saurav Das have all been handed starting berths.

Jamshedpur, meanwhile, will be without several first-team players in Daniel Chukwu, Eli Sabia, Laldinliana Renthlei, PC Laldinpuia and Germanpreet Singh due to injuries. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas gets a start while Harry Sawyer has to settle for a spot on the bench once again.
