It was a bit of a disappointment, Seema was well below her best today and that means no medal for India from this particular event

So the final standings from the Women's 75kg

GOLD: Emily Godley, England - 222 kg
SILVER: Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau, Canada - 221 kg
BRONZE: Laura Hughes, Wales - 207 kg

India's Seema finished 6th overall with a total of 189 kg

Godley has not missed a single lift

She's out for her final lift... If she gets it, it's Gold

SHE's GOT IT!!!

The Gold goes to England's Emily Godley who dethrones the defending champion, Canada's Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau beating her by one kilo

It was a fantastic competition between the two...

Here comes the Canadian for her third and final attempt...

Going for 126 kg

WHAT A LIFT!

She gets it... and she takes the LEAD

221 kg overall

Beauchemin-Nadeau has one lift left and she has to get it, otherwise the Gold will go to England

No, she cannot do it...

Which means the advantage is now in favour of Godley

Beauchemin-Nadeau has raised the bar to 126 kg for her second attempt

If she gets this, it will put serious pressure on the Englishwoman

Godley is coming out for her second lift at 124 kg

The Clean is very good and the Jerk is even better

What a superb lift! These two are just going back and forth

Godley takes the lead

She does it easy... no fuss

The Canadian takes the lead with 216 kg overall

Here's the defending champion, Beauchemin-Nadeau from Canada

She's going for 121 kg

Wales' Hughes out for her final lift

She cannot be overtaken, she's guaranteed a Bronze medal at least

She's going for 120 kg ... NO LIFT

But it's been a great showing from her, 207 kg will be her final score

Godley is out first with a first attempt at 119 kg

And she continues her impressive run... 4/4

She takes the lead with 215 kg

Now it's time for the battle for Gold

Australia's Davies fails with her attempt at 118 kg

She has one attempt left, but no, she fails on the third attempt too.

She finishes with 197 kg overall

Rogers of New Zealand going for 216 kg

And she's got it... superb lifting from her

She finishes the competition with 204 kg, that puts her in 2nd place for now

Meanwhile, Wales' Laura Hughes does a lift of 116 kg and she has a total of 207 kg

She looks good for the Bronze

So a disappointing ending there for Seema and India

She was well below her best

Just to give you an idea, she had a total of 202 kg last year at the Commonwealth Championships. Today, she managed only 189 kg, a difference of 13 kilos.

So that friends means Seema will not be picking up a medal

Three lifters have already overtaken her and there are still two more lifters to come

New Zealand's Rogers is back for her second attempt

This time she nails it ... no doubts about that

112 kg done and she has a total of 200 kg now

Wales' Laura Hughes comes in and foes a strong first lift of 112 kg

She's in the lead now with 203 kg

But no, the referees have not allowed that lift, so it won't count

New Zealand's Bailey Rogers is going for 112 kg for her first attempt in the Clean & Jerk

She struggled a bit with the Clean, but she absolutely nailed the Jerk

And she takes the lead with a total of 200 kg

Australia's Stephanie Davies starts at 110 kg and she nails it

She's gone to 197 kg overall

But she cannot do it...

Seema fails to add to her total.

So that's it for her in this competition. She's done all she can. She finishes with a total of 189 kg.

Now she has to wait and watch what the others do.

So the woman who was tied with Seema after the Snatch, fails to overtake her. She finishes with a total of 187 kg

She goes into the lead with a total of 189 kg

Not to be for the Sri Lankan... so she finishes with a total of 175 kg

Sri Lanka's Balage now going for 104 kg for her second attempt

No, it was an awkward Clean and she moved sideways and lost balance

NO LIFT

Cupid is back for her second attempt at 103 kg

Very well done, that's two good lifts from her.

She goes to 187 kg overall, 3 kilo lead over Seema

Malaysia's Teo Samuel is out for her second lift at 103 kg

IT's a good lift, she's all smiles

She has an overall score of 184 kg, same as Seema

Here's Rayen Cupid of St. Vincent & Grenadines who wast tied with Seema in the Snatch

She's going for 101 kg

She does an easy Clean and gets it up for the Jerk.

She overtakes Seema with a total of 185 kg

Now Sri Lanka's Chathurika Balage

Also going for 100 kg

And it's a good lift... she's behind Seema though

Malaysian Jabriella Teo Samuel is also going for 100 kg

Lift is good and she's currently in 2nd place

The Bangladeshi is out for her final lift at 92 kg

Oops... and she lost track of the time.

She didn't lift the bar before the time expired.

The Clean & Jerk is underway..

Mauritius' Alison Sunee and Bangladesh's Juhora Nisha have just done 85 kg each

So some information, Seema has set a weight of 100 kg at the moment for her first attempt in the Clean & Jerk.

That's a really low weight, because the other contenders are all starting at 110 kg. So one wonders if she's not feeling 100%.

She lifted 111 kg in last year's Commonwealth Championships

It looks like the battle for Gold will be between England's Emily Godley and Canada's Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau

They currently look a cut above the rest

The Clean & Jerk will begin in a short while

Seema and Rayen Cupid lifted the same weight, but Cupid is ahead because she completed the weight first

INDIA in 7th

It was a disappointing Snatch performance from Seema there.

A year ago at the Commonwealth Championships, she did 91 kg in the Snatch and today she managed just 84 kg.

So that's a huge dip from her performance last year. It's going to be tough for her to get into the podium places considering the competition.
