68': A neatly worked team passing move sees Fellaini get free inside the box before setting up Rooney at the edge of the box. However, the skipper's left footed effort is tame and easily caught by Schmeichel.
66': There's a minute's applause in the 66th minute for the England heroes who won the 1966 World Cup! Nice gesture from Wembley and the fans.
65': Rooney races down the right and gets to a ball just in time to send in a cross. However, Ibrahimovic is tightly marked and Leicester clear. The big Swede is yet to show what he is capable of after more than an hour on the pitch.
62': Jesse Lingard is down on the pitch. He's got his boot off and he's holding his foot, possibly feeling the effects of the earlier challenge. He comes off for Juan Mata.

50': Leicester almost punish Luke Shaw after he makes a mistake. Mahrez tries to find players in the box but United soon regroup and thwart any chance of scoring an equaliser. Shaw breathes a sigh of relief.
47': The Foxes are playing a very high line now to catch the United forwards offside. Also, it is now De Gea's turn to frown in the afternoon sun!

It's been a tepid affair at Wembley in the first half but the game was brought to life single-handedly (single-footedly?) by Jesse Lingard and his solo goal separates the two sides at the break!
43': Mahrez attempts a few stepovers and gets the better of Shaw but he runs into a crowd and United easily win the ball back. Last season's Player of the Year has had a very quiet afternoon so far.

It's deja vu for Lingard at Wembley. He had scored the winner in the FA Cup final last season and he's back to his best yet again with this goal. Schmeichel was not impressed with his defence after it was carved open with such ease.
29': Leicester have dominated the game in the last few minutes. Play has been concentrated in United's half with Ibrahimovic camped near the centre circle without any real service.
26': With a sublime first touch, Vardy plucks a long ball from the air and races into the box. But Bailly's last ditch tackle is perfectly timed and it goes out for a corner. Good football all around until the corner is easily cleared.
24': Okazaki just got sandwiched between Ibrahimovic and Fellaini like two bullies picking on the smallest kid in school. No foul, play on!
20': Okazakiiii... Just wide! A Foxes counter sees Vardy find his strike partner and his shot is deflected for a corner. From the resulting corner, Okazaki gets another header and it comes off the crossbar!
19': Fuchs is having a great game. Valencia was in Spring mode with the ball and the right-back tried to beat Fuchs with a dribble but he too is stopped dead.
18': Valencia releases Lingard down the right with a delightful long ball but Fuchs intervenes just in time to stop the youngster in his tracks.
16': Zlatan is in the thick of the action! The ball goes up in the box after a botched clearance and the Swedish striker heads it back to Fellaini whose volley is saved by Schmeichel. He almost spilled it but recovers quickly to gather the ball.
14': Bailly gets away with a stamp on Vardy's heel. Vardy was looking to release Okazaki in a one-two but fails. No foul called.
12': Luke Shaw's cross from the left loops into the box but it's too far out for Wayne Rooney and his header is comfortably collected by Schmeichel.
10': SIDE NETTING! Martial gets the ball on the left and sprints into the box. As he approaches the goal line, he strikes a powerful effort which sadly goes past the wrong side of the near post.
8': Zlatan has dropped deep with Rooney now ahead of him.. Expect them to switch positions now and then. It's been a possession battle in midfield so far.
6': A quarter of the pitch is bathed in bright sunshine and unfortunately it's hitting Schmeichel right on the face and he seems to be struggling.

Jose Mourinho's Manchester United campaign begins with a win over the defending Premier League champions and a trophy in the cabinet. Jesse Lingard opened the scoring for the Red Devils before Jamie Vardy grabbed an equaliser just after half-time.
However, it was Zlatan Ibrahimovic who stole the spotlight with a superb goal on debut to make it 2-1.
