A stunning game of football as we see yet another comeback win in the 2022-23 ISL - it's not just a trend anymore, this seems to be becoming a weekly norm!

East Bengal undoubtedly dominated the opening exchanges against an open Odisha FC defense that left too much space between personnel. The Juggernauts were duly punished for their poor organization when VP Suhair, who seemed marginally offside, latched onto Jordan O'Doherty's through-ball and set up Thongkhosiem Haokip for a tap-in in the 23rd minute. It went from bad to worse for the visitors 12 minutes later as Suhair beat their high-line once again, this time on the other flank, and cut it back for the onrushing Naorem Mahesh Singh to smash the ball into the net past a helpless Amrinder Singh.

Despite some staggered opposition attempts to get a goal back before half-time, the Red and Gold Brigade entered half-time with a comfortable lead, much to the delight of their fans at the Salt Lake. But that was as good as it got for East Bengal.

Josep Gumbau was quick to realize what ailed his team in the first half and made FOUR half-time substitutions. Pedro Martin, the most notable of those changes, finally got to play for an extended period alongside Diego Mauricio and the duo quickly established a game changing partnership. Mauricio first slipped Martin through on the right and the forward displayed immense finishing ability to slide the ball past Kamaljit Singh in the 47th minute. They were involved again less than a minute later as Mauricio headed another substitute, Denechandra Meitei's cross into the path of Martin for an easy finish.

The two quick goals entirely deflated East Bengal as a hush fell over the Salt Lake. Meitei got an assist in the 65th minute as yet another half-time change, Jerry Mawihmingthanga, headed home unopposed. Nandhakumar Sekar rounded it all off 11 minutes later after collecting a glorious Saul Crespo switch and dribbling past Sarthak Golui, who had only joined proceedings seconds ago, before beating Kamaljit with a firm shot.

The win lifts Odisha to third place with 12 points from six matches, while East Bengal, who are still winless at home, are eighth with just six points from seven matches.

What an incredible comeback from Odisha FC, who score FOUR times in the second half to take the game 4-2 after being 2-0 down inside the opening 35 minutes. An absolutely scintillating game of football sees the Juggernauts take home all three points.

90+2' Jangra forces a save from Amrinder with a left-footed attempt from the right flank and he prevents it from going behind a corner. Odisha look on their way to all three points now.

90+1' DANGEROUS BACKPASS!

Chungnunga tries to pass it back to Kamaljit, but the ball goes to Jerry, forcing the East Bengal keeper to rush out. Fortunately, his sliding tackle is timed perfectly and he clears the ball.

86' Mahesh drives into space down the left as he has often done in this game and fires a flat cross into the box, but Amrinder collects it just before Eliandro or Cleiton can apply the finishing touch.

Just as East Bengal ring in the changes, the visitors effectively put the game to bed. A long ball to the left finds Nandha, he drives at Sarthak, who came on just seconds ago, and gets around him before firing the ball past Kamaljit to give Odisha a two-goal cushion!

Nikhil tries to pass the ball back to his keeper but strikes it with too much power. It seems to be heading towards goal before Amrinder gets a boot to it and sends the ball out for a corner. What a way to give away the lead that would've been!

O'Doherty slips Suhair through on the right with a superbly weighted ball that catches the Odisha defense flat-footed. With Amrinder committed, Suhair squares it for an unmarked and onside Haokip in the middle for a simple tap-in. His first goal of the season has East Bengal 1-0 up!

15' WHAT A CHANCE FOR EAST BENGAL! A mistake from Odisha allows Mahesh to send Cleiton through on goal, he races through but Crespo does well to get close to him. The East Bengal forward tries to audaciously lob Amrinder, but he stands tall and saves with ease.

After a slow start, the Red and Gold Brigade finally seem to be finding some rhythm. They largely outplayed Bengaluru FC in their last game on their way to a 1-0 victory, their second of the season. Stephen Constantine's men have put in a few good displays and the win over the star-studded albeit struggling Blues will fill them with confidence heading into this game.

Odisha, meanwhile, have endured a mixed start to their campaign so far, winning three games and losing twice. The Juggernauts have looked extremely threatening in attack, but seem to lose their focus defensively, leading to potential game-changing errors on more than one occasion. They will enter this match on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Hyderabad FC in their last game and will be eager to prove a point.
