Liverpool were thoroughly dominated by Tottenham. It doesn't really matter if they manage to win a couple of games after this embarrassing defeat, the problems will remain at Liverpool, like they have in the last seven years. Tottenham are looking impressive and the Wembley woes are behind them now. Level on points with Manchester United, Pochettino's side are showing it won't just be a two-horse title race between the Manchester clubs. This is Amit Mishra signing off. 87' Salah manages to win a corner as Spurs' defence has been impeccable so far in the second half. Just can't get through. The hosts then counter but nothing comes off the move. Meanwhile, Harry Kane is down. Cramp perhaps.

83' Liverpool break forward, but Salah runs out of room and the move pretty much sums up Liverpool's day. Outpaced, outthought, and outperformed.

80' Dele Alli is a little genius. Boy, how Liverpool wished they had signed him! He easily goes past Can who can't touch him as he is already on a yellow. Nothing comes off the move though.

78' Lloris again! Oxlade-Chamberlain does well to dispossess Aurier and finds Salah. The Egyptian's shot is saved by the custodian, though. You shall not pass!

77' Substitution for Liverpool: Sturridge is on for Firmino. Boy, he looks thrilled to come on with the score being 4-1.

74' Spurs are happy to keep the ball and knock it about well. Davinson Sanchez, completely under the radar, has fit in extremely well. Relatively untroubled so far.

65' Liverpool nearly make something happen, but Firmino isn't able to control Coutinho's pass. Spurs break -- that's new -- and nearly manage a fifth!

And again, Spurs don't need to do much as Liverpool's woeful defence just seem to hand them everything on the plate. Trippier's delivery is pretty good, but Mignolet flaps at it. Firmino manages to clear the shot off the line but Harry Kane is there to collect the rebound and slot it home. It's a rout already...

55' Aurier with a few stepovers tries to make something happen on the left. He is double-teamed by Liverpool, though. The subsequent pass is too long for Firmino.

53' Oxlade-Chamberlain does really well to get past Trippier. Nearly finds Salah with a cross. Corner.

52' Coutinho tries to wriggle free and wins a throw-in. Tottenham need to stifle the threat now. They have a comfortable lead.

49' Dele Alli's persistence means Liverpool are unable to break forward. Aurier gets hold of the ball and tries to cross. It takes a deflection and is out for a corner. Kane's header is off target, though.

47' Liverpool have started the 2nd half with purpose. But the more they attack, the more chances Spurs will have. Pochettino has all the aces now.

Phew, that was some first half. Spurs are full value of their 3-1 lead. Words cannot describe how bad Liverpool have been defensively so far. We'll be back in about 15 minutes!

And it's half-time...

A good set-piece delivery by Eriksen is partially clear by Matip. The second-ball deficiency comes back to haunt Liverpool, though, as Alli has time to take a shot and score. Not one tried to block him. Spurs have their two-goal cushion back!

47+2' GOAL FOR TOTTENHAM!!! Dele Alli smashes it in!

45+2' Can loses the ball and Alli nearly breaks through. The latter manages to make a tactical foul though. He is booked.

Two minutes added on...

45' Chamberlain shows excellent drive on the left, but Spurs are able to stop the move. They need to calm it a bit and keep hold of the ball. Don't have to drive forward every time.

43' Henderson tries to smash one in from about 25 yards. Blocked. Spurs aren't as comfortable as they were in the opening 20 minutes.

42' This is end to end stuff now. Trippier's cross is nearly met by an on-rushing Aurier, but for a Milner interception. He nearly sets Salah on the break. Liverpool get another corner.

40' A poor pass by Salah nearly ends with a Tottenham counter. Liverpool, though, smother it with their front-footed approach.

38' Much more even game now as Liverpool have exercised some sort of control. A good cross by Milner is cleared by Tripper. Corner for Liverpool.

37' Harry Kane's persistence nearly pays off. He manages to outmuscle Matip and gets a shot away, it's just wide though. Spurs are still threatening on the counter at times.

35' Oxlade-Chamberlain's presence in midfield should help Liverpool as they now have an extra man. Spurs are losing the ball more often now. The Liverpool counter-press is working well.

The change for Liverpool means Matip, Gomez and Can will play in a three-man backline. Brave from Jurgen Klopp...

32' Salah has finally found his groove and is taking on players at will. He eases past Aurier and nearly finds Firmino in the box.

31' Substitution for Liverpool: Oxlade-Chamberlain is on for Lovren. You can imagine the boos for Chamberlain (former Arsenal player)!

29' Alli pierces the Liverpool defence again, and Lovren, for the umpteenth time, is barely able to react. Mignolet, this time, rightly comes out early and smothers the chance before Son can find the bottom corner.

27' Oxlade-Chamberlain could get a surprise entry in the first half! He could replace Lovren, meaning Gomez might play as a centre-back. More of a panic-move? Some of the Liverpool fans will be pleased if Lovren is off the pitch, though!

Finally, Liverpool show signs of the famous geggenpress! They crowd Harry Kane and Henderson manages to fizz an exquisite pass to Salah who somehow manages to beat Lloris. Game on!
