Speaking ahead of their Premier League encounter with West Ham United, Wilder said: "Naturally, I'm delighted to sign a new deal until 2024 and commit to the club that is close to my heart. Speaking about the former Arsenal man's future in west London, Lampard said, "With Oli, the situation is: if it is right for everybody, first and foremost that's us the club because he is under contract, then we will look at whether he will leave. I hold him in high regard... but I still have to make a decision for the football club and nothing is done yet. I think his agent has spoken to the club but until we decide it is the right thing then it is not done."

The 19-year-old, who has made six appearances for the Gunners this season, could make his debut for the Terriers in their Championship game against Barnsley on Saturday. Speaking of the signing, Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley said, "We're delighted to complete the loan move to bring Emile to the Club today, as it’s the culmination of an ongoing process that began in early November. According to the publication, the Frenchman has agreed on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Serie A giants but they are yet to reach an agreement with Chelsea, who are asking for a fee between £6.8 million (€8m) and £8.5 million (€10m) for the striker. Giroud, whose contract at the west London club expires this summer, is also believed to have offers from Lyon on the table.
