Well, the Chennai Super Kings move to their tenth IPL final in 14 years. What a consistent franchise they have been in this tournament. Now, they're only one game away from laying their hands on another IPL trophy, with a chance to go level with the Mumbai Indians with five titles. Speaking of whom, they're up tomorrow to take on the Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator. Gujarat Titans will be watching on keenly, of course, awaiting the winner of that contest who they will face in Qualifier 2.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is the Player of the Match. Let's hear what he has to say: [Conditions] The last 3-4 games in Chennai have been different. It got slightly slower and sticky as the tournament went on. I had to adapt and rotate strike before capitalizing on the loose deliverables. It was one of those days where I got going, so I told Devon to give me the strike and kept going. [Partnerships with Faf and now Conway] Both are great players. Faf was someone who was always aggressive from ball one while Devon is someone who hits the gaps and takes the single. He's been scoring in all conditions. [His knock or his catch?]I would say the 60. It was a slightly tricky wicket and we knew baby Malinga would do the job for us.

MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings captain: [10th final] I think IPL is too big to say it's just another final. Not to forget it used to be only 8 teams, no it's 10 teams so it's even tougher. It's been hard work for two months to be where we are. Everybody has contributed. Yes, the middle order hasn't got ample opportunities. [Bowl first] GT are a fantastic team and they've chased well. This game we wanted to get them in. Good toss to lose, there was a bit of dew in the end. There was some spin for half an hour and Jaddu, when he gets those conditions is difficult to hit. Deepak Chahar: Everything's okay, one more game to go. [Keys] The lengths and learning from the other team. The ball was sticking in the track, so we decided to ball a good length. We let them take the chances. When it comes to the knockout games, it's all about the pressure. Chasing 170 when the crowd is against you is never easy. In the meeting, I told them it's all about the pressure. You have to be confident about your skills. So, semi-finals and finals are all about coping with the pressure. Fielders might drop your catches or things might go wrong but you have to keep sticking to your plans. We have the belief. We've done it so many times. The benefit you get with a senior team is that everyone has experience in the big game. Every 10-15 runs matter, even at the backend of the innings and we've got a number of people who can do that for us.

Hardik Pandya, Gujarat Titans captain: (On the bowling effort) I think we were quite spot on but we made some basic errors. After the first innings, the way the wicket was playing, and the bowlers we had, we gave away probably 15 runs more. (On the conditions) A lot of things we did right. It is just that we bowled a couple of slot balls in between. We were executing plans and then we gave away some runs. Don't think we need to look too much into it. We have another game in a few days which we need to win to make another final. (On Dhoni and his captaincy) That is the beauty about him as well. The way he uses his bowlers, you feel he is adding 10 runs to the score. We kept losing wickets and he kept using the right bowlers. Happy for him as well, would be a good sight to meet him on Sunday (if we win the next game). (On if he regrets the decision to bowl first) Regrets are not good in life. We expected dew might come, it did not come. We gave 15 runs extra and as a batting unit, we lost wickets and we were chasing the game. Clear the path for the Thala and his troops because they're coming in for their tenth IPL final. After finishing in ninth place last season, they've roared back with a top-two finish in the league stages this year before getting the better of the defending champions. They had never beaten the Gujarat Titans before this, and they couldn't have found a better time to break that duck, becoming the first side to book their place in the final of IPL 2023.

It wasn't the easiest of games for them on a tricky surface. After Ruturaj Gaikwad set the platform with the bat with his half-century, it was the bowlers who took over the proceedings. Deepak Chahar set the tone in the powerplay, dismissing Saha early on before Theekshana ended the powerplay with the wicket of the Titans captain. The move to promote Shanaka ahead of the in-form Vijay Shankar and David Miller didn't work out for them and they kept losing wickets in clusters.

To nobody's surprise, it was the Chennai Super Kings spinners who did the most of the damage. They controlled proceedings in the middle overs with Jadeja and Theekshana spinning a web around them. Rashid Khan gave his side a bit of hope with the bat in hand again, wielding his willow like it was nobody's business, but even he couldn't get his team over the line.

Credit to him to take the game as deep as he did, but it's the Chennai Super Kings who sign off from Chepauk with a win. The fireworks are going off with handshakes and chats all around. Of course, all is not lost for the Titans yet. They've got another chance to make it to the finals to try and defend their title.
