20:00 (IST)4 DEC 2022

That was all from India vs Bangladesh 1st ODI live scores and updates from our end.

19:43 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Litton Das: Very happy. I was very nervous sitting in the dressing room. I enjoyed Mehidy's batting in the last 6-7 overs. Siraj and Shardul bowled very well in the middle overs and shifted the momentum towards their side. When me and Shakib were batting we thought we could chase this easily, but it got difficult after we both got out and India bowled really well. Outstanding innings from Mehidy.

19:41 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy: I am really happy and excited. I was only thinking about focusing on one area and believing in that strategy and I knew I only needed to bat about 20 balls to get going. I tried to bowl wicket to wicket with the ball. It is a memorable performance for me.

19:39 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy Hasan is awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding knock played under pressure.

19:35 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Rohit Sharma: It was a very close game. We did pretty well to comeback into that position. We didn't bat well. 184 wasn't good enough, but we bowled pretty well and they held the nerve in the end. If you look back how we bowled right from ball one - of course we would have loved to bowl better at the end - but we bowled pretty well for 40 overs and took overs. We just didn't have enough runs. Another 25-30 runs would have helped.

19:30 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Right from Shakib Al Hasan's stunning 5/36 to KL Rahul's determined 73 to Indian bowlerd putting Bangladesh under pressure with regular breakthroughs to Mehidy announcing himself as the hero of Bangladesh this match was no lesser than a roller-coaster ride.

19:23 (IST)4 DEC 2022

The all-rounder was batting on just one run when Bangladesh needed 51 runs to win in 63 balls.

19:21 (IST)4 DEC 2022

The gritty efforts by Mehidy Hasan Miraz (38 runs in 39 balls) became a decisive  factor in Bangladesh's one-wicket win over India in first ODI.

19:17 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy did it. He has pulled off a spectacular win for the hosts despite all the twists and turns that folded up in a thrilling contest.

19:13 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Scores Level...
Mustafizur steals a single off Deepak Chahar. All left to Mehidy to hit the winning runs.

19:11 (IST)4 DEC 2022

The wait to see a winner goes on and on. Nail-biting game it is called as.

19:08 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy cuts away Chahar's short and wide pitched delievry to backward point for a boundary.

19:07 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mustafizur stuns everyone with that boundary via inside edge. Its all in Bangladesh's corner - 8 runs in 30 balls.

19:00 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Bangladesh need 14 runs to win in 36 balls. The best thing for India is that Mustafizur Rahman will take the strike on the first ball of the next over.

18:59 (IST)4 DEC 2022

A couple of runs plundered, an overthrow by Virat Kohli cost one run in that.

18:56 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy has hit Chahar for two consecutive boundaries to bring down the equation to 20 runs off last six overs.

18:53 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy has the mindset of hanging around the crease and unfurl the big shots.

18:48 (IST)4 DEC 2022

India still have three more overs of Shardul Thakur left. It is a hit boundaries or be stranded at the crease for Mehidy Hasan.

18:43 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy is unwilling to take risks against Siraj by any chance. He didn't throw his bat to loft or strike big in the first three balls. Just a reminder the 43rd over by Siraj will be the last one for the Hyderabad pacer in this game.

Mehidy leaves Mustafizur to face Siraj's last ball. Oh damn!! That was yorker that missed the stumps just by inches.

18:39 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy didn't rotate strike as he didn't wanted Mustafizur Rahman to become the prey of India's pace unit. And his decision made a lot of sense after the Bangladesh all-rounder smashed Kuldeep Sen for another six over in the 41st over.

Mehidy's battle against Siraj is likely to determine the results of the game.

18:37 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mehidy slashed Kuldeep Sen's back of a length delivery to dispatch the ball over backward point region for a six. Bangladesh needs more like this.

18:33 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mustafizur played an impressive shot for a boundary off Siraj. It was the first boundary for Bangladesh after 103 balls. We cannot write off Mehidy's batting credentials in the lower order but the situation is not too ideal for him.

18:31 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Bangladesh have lost their ninth as Siraj trapped tailender Hasan Mahmud for LBW in the 40th over. Despite opting for a DRS Bangladesh have been all but out of the contest as India have seemed to pull back things in line.

18:27 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Ebadot Hossain's hit wicket adds injury to the wounds of Bangladesh's situation in the chase. Ebadot hopped across the stumps while attempting to play it around the corner. However, his leg trampled the off stump and the player kept looking at the stumps in dismay.

18:21 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Kuldeep Sen gets his maiden international wicket in the name of Afif Hossain. The Bangladesh left-hander sliced it up to third man as Siraj juggled the ball before clinging on to it to complete the dismissal.

18:18 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Bangladesh need 53 runs off 72 balls with four wickets in their hand. They have two all-rounders capable of taking their side past the finishing line. India need one or two more wickets to impose pressure on Bangladesh. Siraj has two overs left in his spell and Shardul has three more.

18:12 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Just for information: Mehidy has scored 74 runs against India in two innings at an average of 37 with the best score of 42.

18:10 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Can the likes of Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan deny India the opportunity to turnaround things. Patience will be key as Shardul will trouble with his bouncers and Siraj will persist with his hard length deliveries.

18:02 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Siraj cleaned up Mushfiqur Rahim just after Mahmudullah's departure as Bangladesh lose two wickets in as many deliveries. India are once again in the game with those two dismissals or maybe the match is evenly poised from hereafter.

18:00 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mahmdullah has been given out for LBW. Shardul Thakur gives the much-needed breakthrough to India as it puts an end to the 33-run partnership. Bangladhes's hope for a successful chase hang by a thread.

17:33 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah are making a point to play it safely and take their team near the target. They aren't the same players who went for those big shots when Bangladesh needed 2 runs off three balls against India during the 2016 T20 World Cup. Mushfiqur has scored 11 off 28, while Mahmudullah made 8 runs in 15 balls. Bangladesh were at 110/4 after 29 overs just before the drinks break.

17:10 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Washington Sundar took his second wicket of the day after an absolute stunner by Virat Kohli to sent Shakib packing. Shakib went for an inside out shot but Kohli, positioned near the covers, flung to his right and pouched a one-handed catch before landing on the turf with uptmost joy on his face.

Bangladesh's score after 25 overs read as 97/5, with Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah batting for the visitors.

16:52 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Washington Sundar provides the breakthrough for India, removing Bangladesh's stand-in captain for the game on the second ball of the 20th over. A flighted delivery, pitching between the middle and leg stump, carried some extra bounce.

Das looked to move across the stumps and wanted to glance the ball toward fine leg but ended up with gloving the ball, with KL Rahul collecting it behind the stumps with a sharp and confident appeal. Umpire Tanvir Ahmed was raised his finger after moments of anticipation.

Bangladesh were at 81/3 after 21 overs with Mushfiqur Rahim joining Shakib Al Hasan at the crease.

16:46 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Das slog-swept Shahbaz for a boundary over mid-wicket to find the momentum after just rotating the strikes simply for a brief period of time.

16:23 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Bangladesh are having a great time in terms of dealing with close calls. After Shakib's LBW decision stayed, Litton Das edged Shahbaz Ahmed's tossed up fullish delivery. Rohit took a low one-handed catch but it wasn't a clear one though. The soft signal was not out and as the player's ahnds were not underneath the ball, the third umpire stayed with the soft signal, and hence, Litton survived the catch.

16:15 (IST)4 DEC 2022

India lost their first review in the second innings as they anticipated a close LBW call for Shakib Al Hasan off Kuldeep Sen's bowling in the 12th over. India captain Rohit Sharma went for a DRS after a few seconds of discussion with his teammates. However, during the ball tracking, the ball was shown pitching outside the leg stump and Shakib stayed at the crease.

15:58 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Mohammed Siraj got the wicket of Anamul Haque shortly after the batter reversed the LBW call. Siraj's back of the length delivery was mixed with smidgen bounce. Anamul, playing at the backfoot, looked to glance the ball but found Washington Sundar at short mid-wicket. A very Soft dismissal leaves Bangladesh at 30 for 2 at the end of 10 overs.

15:53 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Bangladesh batter Anamul Haque survived a LBW call off Deepak Chahar. A full in length delivery from Chahar was hitting somewhere between the middle and leg stump. Anamul tried to flick it but the ball angled back in to ping him on his pad. Onfield umpire Michael Gough raised his finger. A DRS replay showed the ball was missing the leg stump, and hence, Anamul stayed back at the crease.

15:46 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Litton Das stood tall and pulled one against Mohammed Siraj's short delivery toward mid-wicket. Despite Washington Sundar racing and managing to push the ball inside, a slip in the sloppy outfield couldn't stop the ball from touching the boundary ropes. It was the first boundary from Bangladesh's stand-in skipper.

15:39 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Chahar and Siraj have shown discipline in their variations as Anamul Haque and Das kept on leaving the balls anything pitched outside the off stump area. Bangladesh were 18/1 after seven overs.

15:24 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Anamul Haque shows a glimpse of confidence in his strokeplay against Chahar and Siraj, while Litton showed respect to Chahar's wide outside off deliveries by leaving them. The duo have been patient to find their scoring opportunities after Shanto's dismissal on the first ball of the innings. Anamul top-edged Siraj's short ball for a boundary with a hook shot as Bangladesh end four overs with 15/1.

15:12 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Deepak Chahar hit the good length and shaped it across the corridor as Shanto went prodding with the hard hands only to edge toward Rohit Sharma positioned at first slip. India have got a great start in defending a moderate score.

14:59 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Remember Stuart Binny's 4.4-2-4-6 spell against Bangladesh in the second ODI in Mirpur to short down the hosts' innings at 58 when they needed to chase 106. Can Siraj or Kuldeep pull off a miracle spell for India like Binny did eight years ago?

14:42 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Ebadot picked Mohammed Siraj's wicket to bowl out India for a meagre 186 in the first innings. The Bangladesh pacer mustered his best ODI career spell with figures of 4/47. Ebadot complemented veteran Shakib who bagged 5 for 36 to achieve his fourth ODI five-wicket haul. Bangladesh bowlers gave a great start to the series and it would leave all up to their batters to chase the target. Kudos to Litton Das captaincy in his first match at international level. It was tremendous to see him with rotating his bowlers, particularly Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

14:33 (IST)4 DEC 2022

KL Rahul departs on 73 after waging a lone battle for the visitors on a damp pitch at Dhaka. He played lofted shot off Ebadot for a six and followed with a boundary, sliding down the leg side. While continuing to take on Ebadot, Rahul holed out to fine leg after finding a leading edge to end his 70-ball 73 runs innings. Bangladesh find the big fish and would certainly cut short India's tally.

14:23 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Rahul hasn't been distracted from the crumble in the middle and looks determined to play a big innings. Perhaps he is waiting for the slog overs to unleash those big hits. As far as Mohammed Siraj is concerned, the pacer has done a great job with blocking those turns of Shakib to keep India's innings alive. India were 168/8 after 39 overs.

14:11 (IST)4 DEC 2022

A much will depend on KL Rahul from here on as his approach to retain the strike as much as possible is likely to determine India's score at the end of the innings. Rahul will have to guard the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Sen from Mustafizur, Ebadot and Shakib the man of the moment.

14:06 (IST)4 DEC 2022

Shakib Al Hasan is on the song as he bagged a fourth five-wicket haul in his illustrious ODI career. The left-arm spinner pinned Deepak Chahar before the wickets just after getting left-handers Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Ahmed in the middle. Shakib's brilliance pushed India on the backfoot as they are left in tatters at 156/8 inside 35 overs.

13:59 (IST)4 DEC 2022

India lose two wickets in quick succession after KL Rahul and Washington Sundar revived their innings with their 60-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Shakib tempted Sundar to play the reverse-sweep only to get caught by Ebadot at short third on 19 runs. Ebadot got the young Shahbaz Ahmed as Shakib was the man this time to take a low catch at the short cover. India were reeling at 156 for six after 34 overs with KL Rahul batting on 55.
