IPL 2025 - Mumbai Indians Retention News
CONFIRMED! Amidst speculation of Hardik Pandya losing captaincy in the Mumbai Indians camp, it has been confirmed that he will be leading MI in IPL 2025!
GT have retained 5 players, including two uncapped players! Rashid Khan at 18 crores, Shubman Gill at 16.5 crores, Sai Sudharsan at 8.5 crores along with Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan at 4 crores! They have one remaining RTM and a purse of 69 crores.

IPL 2025 - Sunrisers Hyderabad's retentions
As rumoured, SRH have retained five players. Heinrich Klaasen at 23 crores, Pat Cummins at 18 crores, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head at 14 crores each and Nitish Reddy at 6 crores. They have one RTM going into the auction which can only be used on an uncapped player and have a remaining purse of 45 crores.

IPL 2025 - Rajasthan Royals' retentions
Rajasthan Royals have retained all six players! Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been retained at 18 crores each; Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel at 14 crores each and Shimron Hetmyer at 11 crores. Their uncapped retention is Sandeep Sharma at 4 crores. They won't have any RTMs at their disposal and their remaining purse will be 41 crores.

IPL 2025 - Kolkata Knight Riders' retentions
KKR have retained the maximum possible six players! The pay is pretty evenly distributed among the players too. Rinku Singh is retained at 13 crores. Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy are retained at 12 crores. They have also retained two uncapped players in Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh at 4 crores each! No RTMs for the Knight Riders and they go into the auction with a purse of INR 51 crores.

IPL 2025 - Lucknow Super Giants' retentions
Nicholas Pooran is LSG's top retention at INR 21 crores, while Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Yadav have been retained at 11 crores. LSG have also retained two uncapped players in Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni at 4 crores each. LSG have a solitary RTM card going into the auction and a purse of 69 crores!

IPL 2025 - Delhi Capitals' retentions
Axar Patel at 16.5 crores, Kuldeep Yadav at 13.25 crores, Tristan Stubbs at 10 crores & Abhishek Porel at 4 crores are the four retentions for the Capitals. The likes of Rishabh Pant, David Warner, Jake Fraser McGurk have been released! Delhi Capitals go into the auction with a healthy purse and 2 RTMs!

IPL 2025 - RCB's retentions
Virat Kohli is the top retention for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, taking INR 21 crores. Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal are the other retentions with Patidar taking INR 11 crore and Yash Dayal being retained as the uncapped player with INR 5 crore. Mohammed Siraj has been released and is auction bound! They will have a purse of INR 83 crores to go with three RTMs!

IPL 2025 - Chennai Super Kings' retentions
Chennai Super Kings have retained Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Matheesha Pathirana, Shivam Dube & MS Dhoni! Ruturaj and Jadeja get the top pay of INR 18 crores, while Pathirana gets 13 crores and Shivam Dube gets 12 crores. MS Dhoni, courtesy of the uncapped rule, is retained for 4 crores. They go into the auction with 55 Crores and one RTM.

IPL 2025 - Punjab Kings' retentions
Punjab Kings have retained only Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh! Shashank at 5.5 crores and Prabhsimran at 4 crores. They have retained both uncapped players and will be heading into the auction with the highest purse of INR 110.5 crores and four RTMs!

Mumbai Indians have retained Jasprit Bumrah, Surya Kumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma. Bumrah has been retained for INR 18 crores, while SKY and Hardik will be retained for INR 16.35 crores. Rohit Sharma has been retained for 16.3 crores while Tilak Varma has been retained for INR 8 crores. In total, MI have spent INR 75 crores in retentions and have a purse of INR 45 crores as they head into the auction

Lavil: Fan favourites Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag are sure to be retained by the franchise but that will see the departures of Jos Buttler, Trent Boult, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. That will force them to rebuild a new core and aim at shopping for a host of international players in the auction. Maanas: Whew - that kind of purse will allow Punjab to break the bank to acquire any player that they set their eyes on, not just once but multiple times. However, I feel Arshdeep Singh should be heading back in all likeliness along with perhaps Liam Livingstone via RTM. The RTM has a new twist this year too and it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

They will be aiming to retain one of Naman Dhir or Anshul Kamboj whom they will be eyeing for the future. What comes to me as a surprise is that they will be not retaining Punjab's power hitter, Nehal Wadhera and letting him in the auction! Now that we have mentioned Punjab, what do you think about PBKS's decision to retain two uncapped players and enter the auction with a purse of INR 112 crores?

Maanas: Will it be too far to think that they'd want Shreyas Iyer back leading their side? The Capitals certainly have multiple options at their disposal. Stubbs, Jake Fraser, Axar, Kuldeep, Abhishek Porel are certainly players who can get a look-in for retention. They will need to splurge on pacers though at the auction, if they go in with these retentions. A team that'll have plenty to think about for their retentions will be the Mumbai Indians. Even in case their Fantastic Four - Rohit, SKY, Bumrah and Hardik decide to stay - who will lead the side? Can we expect a fifth retention in the form of Tilak Varma? Does Nehal Wadhera get a look-in or is his skill-set too similar to Tilak's? Naman Dhir or Anshul Kamboj as the sixth retention or a surprise in Piyush Chawla?

Lavil: If you ask me, Yes. I believe that RCB will let go of a few players to bring him back. He ticks the boxes for them, whether it is asking him to lead the side, don the gloves, bat anywhere in the lineup and most importantly, he brings the local connection with the fans, something the franchise has lacked in the last few years. RCB will also have an eye on Rishabh Pant, who ticks many boxes that KL does. Regarding that, what do you make of Delhi Capitals and how do they prepare for their life after Pant?
