Until yesternight, we had not seen a 12-3 finish in any season of UTT! Now, we have seen it happen twice in a row. Ahmedabad SG Pipers were thoroughly dominant tonight. They came here needing 8 wins to confirm a semifinal spot, they instead win 4 more and finish second on the league table. Jaipur Patriots needed something special today. They did start off giving the opponents a tough fight. 3 out of the first 4 games of the night went into a golden point. But Ahmedabad paddlers held their nerves to come out on top more often. As soon as the Patriots realised that they were knocked out of the race for the playoffs, there was a shift in their body language and from there on, we pretty much witnessed one-way traffic. Though, eager to leave a lasting impression, Moumita Dutta did show a fight, dragging two out of the last three games of the tie into golden points. Her opponent Reeth Rishya, won them both and completed a clean sweep!
