In the opening exchanges, Jamshedpur FC started brightly as they pressed high up the pitch to break down Hyderabad FC's attacks. Young Boris Singh tested Laxmikant Kattimani early while Daniel Chima Chukwu had a couple of half chances.

But the Red Miners failed to break the deadlock in the first half and both teams went into the break level on terms.
