A thoroughly deserved win for the Blasters, who could've been up by two or three in the first half itself. They tested Jamshedpur time and again, registering 19 shots and seven on target, compared to the Red Miners' eight and three respectively. The crowning jewel on a fantastic display was Adrian Luna's goal as some delectable, pinpoint one-touch passing that saw all four of their starting attackers involved in the build-up led to one of the strikes of the campaign.

After a stuttering start, the Kerala Blasters look well on their way to returning to the kind of form that took them to the ISL finals last season. Jamshedpur, meanwhile, continue to struggle and seem to be in a battle with NorthEast United FC for the wooden spoon. Aidy Boothroyd's job could very well be on the line as last season's Shield Winners continue to search for answers after another disappointing defeat.

Kerala Blasters take a 2-1 lead into the break thanks to goals from Apostolos Giannou and Dimitris Diamantakos. Daniel Chukwu briefly equalized for Jamshedpur, but they've been second-best for much of this contest. The Tuskers, meanwhile, are unlucky to be up by just one after a superb attacking display and will feel hard done by as Ishan Pandita looked offside in the build-up to the Red Miners' equalizer.

Things got a little feisty towards the end of the half as both teams got into a few scuffles on the left flank, where Kerala have enjoyed plenty of space and time. We can expect some more entertainment in the second half, with only one goal separating the two teams.

33' SAVED BY VISHAL! Once again Kerala slice Jamshedpur open with some superb one-touch passing down the left, Sahal is set free on the left flank and fires an effort at the near-post, which Vishal does well to palm out for a corner.

A couple of ricochets helps Crivellaro set up Pandita, who runs forward with the ball. Gill smothers to save it, but it comes out to Chukwu, who chips it towards goal. Leskovic tries to clear it acrobatically off the line, but can't stop it and the Red Miners make it 1-1!

13' HEADER GOES OVER! Luna clips a ball to Giannou, who flicks it first-time for Diamantakos. The forward gets his head to it, but it's over the crossbar!

Diamantakos and Carneiro combine down the left, the former goes through and slips it in for Giannou, who scores with a backheel flick beyond Yadav. It's 1-0 and Kochi erupts!

8' ELI SABIA CLEARS! Kerala with some excellent build-up play again and Luna crosses the ball for Diamantakos, whose header is cleared from in front of the goalkeeper by Sabia.

5' KERALA GO CLOSE AGAIN! Some slick play down the left sees Diamantakos send a cross in, it takes multiple ricochets before going behind off Vishal Yadav. The resulting corner from Luna finds Leskovic, but his flick-on is saved easily by Vishal.

We're moments away from kick-off in a packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi!

With less than 20 minutes to go for the scheduled kick-off, let's take a quick look at the recent head-to-head between the two teams.

Kerala Blasters and Jamshedpur clashed four times over the course of the 2021-22 ISL season. The first of those matches ended in a 1-1 draw, with Sahal Abdul Samad, who is starting for the Blasters tonight, equalizing for the Tuskers after Greg Stewart put Jamshedpur ahead. The second match ended 3-0 to the Red Miners, with Daniel Chukwu, another of tonight's starters, finding the back of the net after Stewart's brace.

The two teams then clashed in the semifinals, the first leg of which ended 1-0 to the Blasters, with Sahal scoring the winner. The second leg ended in a 1-1 draw with Adrian Luna putting Kerala ahead before Pronay Halder brought Jamshedpur back into the tie. However, the Tuskers held on to take a 2-1 aggreggate win and qualify for the final.

Kerala Blasters and Jamshedpur also met at the latter's home in the ongoing ISL season in December last year. Dimitris Diamantakos scored the only goal of the contest as the Tuskers picked up all three points.

Kerala Blasters FC will look to move back into third place in the ISL 2022-23 standings when they welcome Jamshedpur FC to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday, January 3.

The Tuskers, who are currently fourth in the table, will enter this game on a seven-match unbeaten run, which included a 1-0 win over Jamshedpur FC a month ago. They beat Odisha FC 1-0 at home in their last match.

Meanwhile, the Red Miners are languishing in 10th in the standings with a meager five points from 11 matches so far. They played out a 2-2 draw with FC Goa in their last match, their first point after a eight-game losing slide.
