So, that will be all for today from the Eden Gardens. But do switch tabs and join us live on the other IPL game going on at the moment between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi. This is the pair of Pratyush and Bidipto, saying good bye. Keep following Sportskeeda!

20:06 (IST)29 APR 2023

Josh Little has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what he has to say.

Josh Little:
I just spoke to Hardik before we played and talked about keeping things simple by hitting the good length. The first game of the IPL was slightly nervous for me, but now, I'm settling into rhythm and hoping to deliver more performances like this. It's all about hitting the good length and let the ball do the talking for me.

20:03 (IST)29 APR 2023

Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans captain): Noor Ahmad and Josh Little got us back in the game and kept us in the hunt. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was threatening to take the game away from us. So, I'll take their performance today for sure. I must say, our players are humble enough to give it their all no matter what. That is why, someone or the other is stepping up every single time. Vijay Shankar is fitter, more confident and hungry for more. His hard work is paying off, big time!

19:59 (IST)29 APR 2023

It is time for the post-match presentation!

19:54 (IST)29 APR 2023

David Miller: It was a great win again. The guys set up a great platform. They're doing a superb job upfront. Chasing can always get hair raising but batting with someone like Vijay was great. He needed one six and then he got away. Watching from the other end was quite nice. (Behind the scenes) It's the cliched thing of sticking to your processes. We've got a great balance in the team. The seamers are great up front and the spinners in the middle. We're always competing in every game and not getting blown away. It's about staying in the hunt for as long as possible. The confidence comes from winning games and we've been doing that. (Discussion with Shankar) We knew they had really good spinners and had to pull the trigger at some stage. It gives us the confidence to go after the bowlers. As that flows, you keep going, I suppose. (Little) Really nice to see him bowling the way he can. Nice to see a left arm seamer. He adds a lot to the team. It's about continuing his form. Really chuffed for him. (Playing at Eden Gardens) It's a dream come true. It's spectacular to see the fans supporting after every game and it's a privilege to be out here and watch Vijay smack it around.

19:50 (IST)29 APR 2023

Nitish Rana (Kolkata Knight Riders captain): If you don't take your chances, you will end on the losing side. All our games have been like that. If we do well in all three departments, the results might come in our favour. We batted decently but batting and fielding didn't work out. We have to find a way to make that click. The small moments are equally important. If you take your catches, execute your plans and do the small things right, you can get the win.

19:44 (IST)29 APR 2023

Gujarat Titans win by 7 wickets with 2 overs and one ball to spare!

Vijay Shankar 51* (24) | Mohammed Shami - 3/33 (4)
Rahmanullah Gurbaz 81 (39) | Sunil Narine - 1/24 (3)

The start was a decent one for Gujarat Titans. Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha made sure that they got off to a solid start. But then, came a phase of play when the Kolkata Knight Riders came roaring back with wickets and dot balls. But after the second strategic time-out, it was the David Miller and Vijay Shankar show that handed the visitors their 4th straight victory on the road!

Shubman Gill played well to reach 49 but threw it away with an unnecessary lofted shot on the charge which got well gobbled up by long-on. Hardik Pandya was dismissed just before that to a quick and good length delivery from an impressive Harshit Rana, who showed that he has what it takes to rattle the top brass. And the spin from KKR made sure that the web was getting prepared to trap the remainder of the opposition batting.

It all came down to the last over of Suyash Sharma! David Miller got two balls that were tossed up and smashed both those for sixes. From then on, everything changed! Suyash went on to drop Miller in the next over off the bowling of Andre Russell. Then onwards, it was the Vijay Shankar show against Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Rana!

He hit one shot after another against these two spinners that either cleared the rope or reached it. An impressive half-century from a resurgent right-hand batter that was not on the cards it seemed, from a KKR point of view! They were all taken by surprise.

The KKR fielding needs a strong look-in. They gave away lots of runs by misfields and dropped a crucial catch at a crucial stage. Going forward, these need to be improved. They remain on 6 points and have a lot of catching up to do in order to make the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans have now moved up to 12 points from 8 games and are well on course to become the first team to reach the playoffs.

19:44 (IST)29 APR 2023

17.6 Nitish Rana to Vijay Shankar

wide. An anti-climatic end to maintain Gujarat Titans' 100% away record. Fires it down to the leg side and Shankar missed his sweep. It's another convincing run chase from the defending champions. GT win by 7 wickets with 13 balls to spare.

19:43 (IST)29 APR 2023

Vijay Shankar reaches 50 in only 24 balls!

19:43 (IST)29 APR 2023

17.5 Nitish Rana to Vijay Shankar

SIX! FIFTY FOR VIJAY SHANKAR! Fullish on the pads to try and cramp the batter for room but he wasn't having it. Brings out another slog sweep that clears the long leg boundary and levels the scores!

19:43 (IST)29 APR 2023

17.4 Nitish Rana to David Miller

fuller outside the off-stump line. Miller carves out a drive to sweeper cover

19:42 (IST)29 APR 2023

17.3 Nitish Rana to Vijay Shankar

fuller on the middle stump line. Neatly flicked off the pads for a single at deep square leg

19:42 (IST)29 APR 2023

Vijay Shankar is on a mission to finish this early!

19:41 (IST)29 APR 2023

17.2 Nitish Rana to Vijay Shankar

FOUR! He's in the zone now. Full delivery on the pads, Shankar sweeps it past short fine leg and brings the equation down into single digits

19:41 (IST)29 APR 2023

As many as 55 runs came off the last three overs!

19:41 (IST)29 APR 2023

17.1 Nitish Rana to David Miller

on the good length at the middle stump. Miller rocks back to pull it to deep mid-wicket

19:40 (IST)29 APR 2023

Nitish Rana, right-arm off-spin, is into the attack.

Things are getting worse for the hosts now. The second strategic time-out was just the tonic the visitors needed to pick up the charge. And now, they are coasting home! Excellent partnership this between two quality players.

19:40 (IST)29 APR 2023

End of over 17 (24 runs), Gujarat Titans 166/3

Vijay Shankar 40(21)
David Miller 30(16)
Varun Chakravarthy 42/0

19:40 (IST)29 APR 2023

16.6 Varun Chakravarthy to Vijay Shankar

SIX! GT have buried this chase in a matter of two overs. This one's a bit of a drag down, so Shankar stays back for a comprehensive pull to clear the deep mid-wicket fielder for half-a-dozen

19:39 (IST)29 APR 2023

16.5 Varun Chakravarthy to Vijay Shankar

FOUR! LEG BYE! It's all unraveling rather quickly for KKR now. Quicker one slides in from a shortish length to beat Shankar. However, it's deflected off his thigh pad before evading short third man to trickle away

19:38 (IST)29 APR 2023

16.4 Varun Chakravarthy to David Miller

slightly short and outside the off-stump. Miller rocks back to cut it to sweeper cover

19:38 (IST)29 APR 2023

16.3 Varun Chakravarthy to Vijay Shankar

darts it out on the good length outside off. Shankar mistimes his chop that bounces over the bowler's head to allow a single

19:37 (IST)29 APR 2023

The 150 comes up now for Gujarat Titans!

19:37 (IST)29 APR 2023

16.2 Varun Chakravarthy to Vijay Shankar

SIX! EVEN BETTER! Another length delivery on the stump-to-stump line. Shankar sits down on one knee for a slog sweep that clears the square leg boundary with significant ease

19:36 (IST)29 APR 2023

The 50-partnership comes up between Vijay Shankar and Miller!

19:36 (IST)29 APR 2023

16.1 Varun Chakravarthy to Vijay Shankar

SIX! THWACK! On the good length at the middle stump line. Shankar sits down on one knee and nails his slog sweep flat and hard to clear the ropes

19:36 (IST)29 APR 2023

Varun Chakravarthy [3.0-0-22-0] comes back into the attack.

It seems as though the match is within the Titans' grasp now. All that this pair has to do now is bat sensibly and not let dot balls accumulate. That should do it for the visiting team today.

19:35 (IST)29 APR 2023

End of over 16 (13 runs), Gujarat Titans 142/3

Vijay Shankar 21(16)
David Miller 29(15)
Andre Russell 29/1

19:35 (IST)29 APR 2023

15.6 Andre Russell to Vijay Shankar

short of a length slower one. Shankar pulls it to deep square leg and takes the single on offer

19:34 (IST)29 APR 2023

15.5 Andre Russell to Vijay Shankar

nails the yorker outside the off-stump. Shankar can't squeeze that one out, no run

19:34 (IST)29 APR 2023

This is a killer blow to KKR! Gujarat Titans are running away with it here.

19:34 (IST)29 APR 2023

15.4 Andre Russell to Vijay Shankar

SIX! That's salt on the wounds for Russell and KKR. Slower one sits up nicely for Shankar to throw his hands at it, tonking it over mid-wicket for half-a-dozen

19:33 (IST)29 APR 2023

15.3 Andre Russell to Vijay Shankar

slower one pitched up outside the off-stump and Shankar smacks it back to Russell. The ball deflects off his shin and ricochets towards deep mid-wicket to allow a second run

19:32 (IST)29 APR 2023

15.3 Andre Russell to Vijay Shankar

wide. The slower one slips down the leg side. Russell will have to reload.

19:32 (IST)29 APR 2023

15.2 Andre Russell to David Miller

pitched up in the channel outside off. Miller drills it to long-off for a single

19:31 (IST)29 APR 2023

Suyash has certainly not enjoyed the last 7 minutes or so! Andre Russell is fuming.

19:31 (IST)29 APR 2023

15.1 Andre Russell to David Miller

DROPPED! Suyash never looked convincing underneath it. It was dug in short and outside the off-stump, resulting in a top edge as Miller throw his bat at it. That was skied towards short third and Miller had pretty much given up. Ends up picking up a brace though. Huge moment in the game!

19:30 (IST)29 APR 2023

Andre Russell [2.0-0-16-1] comes back into the attack.

Suyash bowled three decent till his fourth and messed up it in his last! He will learn of course, but those two flighted deliveries were not required at this stage. Certainly not to David Miller.

19:29 (IST)29 APR 2023

End of over 15 (18 runs), Gujarat Titans 129/3

Vijay Shankar 12(12)
David Miller 26(13)
Suyash Sharma 37/0

19:29 (IST)29 APR 2023

14.6 Suyash Sharma to Vijay Shankar

floats it up in the off-stump line. Shankar carves it out to point, no run

19:29 (IST)29 APR 2023

14.5 Suyash Sharma to Vijay Shankar

FOUR! SHOT! This is turning out to be the big over GT needed. Slightly short and there was width on offer, Shankar cuts it away through cover-point for a boundary

19:28 (IST)29 APR 2023

14.4 Suyash Sharma to David Miller

pushed through quicker outside the off-stump. Miller chops a thick inside edge to short third man for a single

19:28 (IST)29 APR 2023

Well there is a man just to the left of long-off, right in front of the sight screen.

19:26 (IST)29 APR 2023

This is David Miller for you! A game-changer!

19:26 (IST)29 APR 2023

14.3 Suyash Sharma to David Miller

SIX! Killer Miller has arrived. Flights another googly in the slot for Miller, who wasn't going to miss out. Plants his front foot and clubs this handsomely over long-on to deposit it 15 rows back

19:25 (IST)29 APR 2023

14.2 Suyash Sharma to David Miller

SIX! Tosses it up in the slot outside the off-stump. Stand and deliver stuff from Miller, walloping it over long-on to clear the boundary

19:25 (IST)29 APR 2023

14.1 Suyash Sharma to Vijay Shankar

keeps it on the shortish length at the middle stump. Shankar pushes it down to long-on for a single

19:23 (IST)29 APR 2023

At the moment, knocking the ball into gaps for singles won't do for Gujarat Titans. They need an over or two of substance. But bowling loose deliveries like the one Chakravarthy bowled in the last ball of this over won't make KKR's life any easier when David Miller is at the crease. Neither side can afford to hand over the advantage at this stage. It's time for the final strategic time-out of the match.

19:21 (IST)29 APR 2023

End of over 14 (9 runs), Gujarat Titans 111/3

David Miller 13(10)
Vijay Shankar 7(9)
Varun Chakravarthy 22/0
