Well then, that's a wrap on Day One of the Qualifiers in Shortgun Skeet Shooting. Eric Delaunay (France) and Vincent Hancock (US) are at the top of the table after the first three rounds with a perfect score of 75/75.

India has two contenders in the discipline. Angad Bajwa is in the 11th position and Mairaj Khan is in the 25th position. The prospect of Khan entering the finals looks bleak at the moment. But Bajwa has a real chance, having missed just two hits in the three rounds.

There will be two more rounds tomorrow, which means each shooter will have to hit 50 targets more. The top six athletes will qualify for the final round that will be held tomorrow evening. Tune in at 06:30 a.m. right here to check if Angad Bajwa makes it through to the finals. It's goodbye from Team Sportskeeda for now!

12:42 (IST)25 JUL 2021

With the end of Round 3, we dive into another break. We will be back with Round 4 in a while. Do check back!

12:42 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Two players are tied at the top after Round 3

12:41 (IST)25 JUL 2021

There are five shooters behind them with 74/75 and nine more shooters with 73/75. Angad Bajwa is in that latter category. He needs to pin his hopes on one of the top seven shooters missing and him getting a perfect 50/50 in the next two rounds to have any hope of qualifying.

12:38 (IST)25 JUL 2021

That's the end of Round 3. Eric Danualay completes another perfect round and is tied at the top with Vincent Hancock with 75/75.

The French & American player will look to continue their streak and stay at the top. Well, at the end of Round 3, Indian players Angad Vir Singh Bajwa & Mairaj Ahmad Khan are placed 11th and 25th, respectively.

12:23 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Six stations are completed and Delaunay has hit all the targets. 67/67 and he stays at the top with Hancock.

12:19 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Al Rashidi misses! He spirals down to 8th rank after missing his first shot of the day from Station 5. 63/64!

The Kuwait player misses and with that, we have only two players who stand a chance to break to Olympic & World record.

12:19 (IST)25 JUL 2021

The first five stations are completed by Eric Delaunay. His record continues to be unblemished. 64/64 hits!

12:12 (IST)25 JUL 2021

There are three more shooters in this set, who have missed just a single shot so far and are potential candidates for a position in the finals - Azmy Mehelba (Egypt), Dimitris Konstantinou (Greece) and Tammaro Cassandro (Italy). All three have hit their first six targets in Round 3.

12:10 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Al Rashidi and Delaunay have hit bull's-eye from the first two stations. Their perfect streaks continue. Both the athletes are at 56/56.

12:07 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Abdullah Al Rashidi and Eric Delaunay are the two major names to look out for in this set. Both of them had a perfect record in the first two rounds.

12:07 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Mairaj Ahmad Khan - Round 3

12:04 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Angad Singh Bajwa - Round 3

12:03 (IST)25 JUL 2021

The first set of 18 athletes has completed Round 3. It will be the turn of the remaining 12 shooters to have a go.

12:01 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Three out of three perfect rounds for Vincent Hancock. 75/75 against his name and he sits at the top of the ladder.

The American shooter is the only one to have hit all shots on target thus far. With two more rounds to go, Hancock will be eyeing a clean sweep in both of them.

12:01 (IST)25 JUL 2021

That's the end of Round 3 for Mairaj Khan. He missed three shots in Round 3 in addition to the one in Round 2. He finishes at 25th position with 71/75 hits.

11:59 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Jacub Tomecek and Eetu Kallioinen gain ground in the top six. They have just one miss so far and look good to have their positions in tact at the end of this round.

11:58 (IST)25 JUL 2021

But his fellow Indian has had another miss now. Khan fails to hit the second target from Station 8. He slips to 25th position. The chances of a recovery from here look really bleak.

11:57 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Angad Bajwa ends the round without any further mishap. 73/75 hits for him and he is placed at the 12th position.

11:55 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Eric Watndal of Norway is consolidating his position in the top four. He has missed only one shot so far. Just the final station of Round 3 is left and he has a record of 72/73.

11:54 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Mairaj Khan misses again! That's three misses for him! 7 stations done in Round 3. Khan has slipped to 20th position with 66/69 hits.

With that miss, Khan falls down in the rankings and the chances of him making it to the finals are gradually decreasing. He's moving backwards and missing a shot or two in the coming rounds could see him stay behind in the race.

11:53 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Angad Bajwa has completed 8 out of 9 stations in Round 3. He has just two more targets to go in this round and has a record of 22/23 now. That makes it 71/73 overall for him.

11:52 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Vincent Hancock of the USA is the only shooter who has a perfect record in this Qualification Round now. Remember, the Qualifying Round World Record is 125/125 and Olympic Record is 123/125. It might be a bit early, but can he beat the OR or equal the WR?

Hancock looks in fine touch and is on his way to break records. He's one of the shooters to watch out for in the coming days.

11:50 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Station 5 of Round 3 is proving to be costly for a lot of shooters here. It is the turn of Eetu Kallioinen to slip up. He spirals down from the top of the table to 7th rank.

11:46 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Oh, no! Mairaj Khan misses now! Suddenly things have started going downhill for the Indian duo. He misses the third target from Station 5! 62/64 for Khan, slipping down to 17th position.

First, Angad and now, Mairaj! What's happening with the Indian shooters?

11:45 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Paul Adams slips up at the top of the ladder. He misses the first shot at Station 4. That's a fall to 9th place for Adams.

Adams was moving ahead without a miss thus far but fails to continue his streak. One miss can push players way far down in the rankings.

11:43 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Angad Bajwa misses! This could be costly for him and India! Bajwa could not nail the second target from Station 5. He slips to 15th position now with 62/64 hits.

The Indian shooter misses his second shot. He's in deep trouble as he could end up on the losing side.

11:42 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Mairaj Khan and Angad Bajwa hit both the targets from Station 4. They are at 60/61 now.

11:41 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Nine straight hits for Paul Adams, Vincent Hancock and Eetu Kallioinen. That makes it 59/59 for them.

11:40 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Station 3 done for Mairaj Khan. He has 9 straight hits in Round 3. Khan rises to 9th place with 58/59 hits.

11:37 (IST)25 JUL 2021

9 straight hits for Bajwa. He moves to sixth place with 58/59 hits. That's three stations done for Angad Bajwa.

11:36 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Adams Paul, Vincent Hancock and Eetu Kallioinen, who were at the top of the table after Round 2, have hit their first three shots perfectly, making it 53/53.

Looks like Adams Paul, Vincent Hancock and Eetu Kallioinen are trying to make sure they steal a place for themselves in the final event and leave others to fight for the remaining three places.

11:35 (IST)25 JUL 2021

18 athletes will shoot first and the remaining 12 will follow once they finish, just like the previous rounds.

11:34 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Mairaj Khan has hit all three targets from the first station in Round 3. He has 52 hits out of 53 now. Khan started the third round with a bang. The Indian shooter will want to move up the rankings.

11:33 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Angad Bajwa has started off with a perfect set of six. He hasn't missed any from the first two stations. 55/56.

Bajwa is moving ahead steadily and will not want to miss any of his upcoming shots. With six positions at stake, players will have to give it their all to make it to the final event.

11:32 (IST)25 JUL 2021

We are back!! The third round is underway!

10:14 (IST)25 JUL 2021

During the break, you can check out our expert's prediction for the event below!

10:11 (IST)25 JUL 2021

For our viewers who are new to shotgun skeet shooting!

In the skeet discipline, the athletes shoot on eight different stations to hit orange clay targets thrown from two houses located at the left and right end of the range. The house on the left is called high house, and the targets thrown from it are called mark; the house on the right is called low house, and the targets thrown from it are called pull.

10:07 (IST)25 JUL 2021

That's the end of Round 2. We have time for another breather. Stay tuned!

10:06 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Five shooters tied at the top with 50/50 hits

10:06 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Abdullah Al Rashidi and Eric Delaunay complete another perfect round. They are at the joint first position at top of the table now. Angad Bajwa completes the second round at 9th position and Mairaj Khan is at 14th position.

10:00 (IST)25 JUL 2021

48/48 for Al Rashidi and Delaunay. Just two more targets to go. Remember, just one miss and Bajwa could move into the top six after Round 2.

09:56 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Make that six! Al Rashidi and Delaunay have completed six Houses in Round 2 without missing any targets. Just three more to go for them to join Adams, Hancock and Kallioinen at the top.

09:54 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Five Houses done in Round 2 for Delaunay and Al Rashidi. They continue their merry way with 14/14 hits.

09:49 (IST)25 JUL 2021

Azmy Mehelba misses! And he goes straight down to 12th position. One miss is all it takes. He doesn't hit the third target from the fifth House. 38/39 for Mehelba.

09:47 (IST)25 JUL 2021

11/11 in Round 2 for Delaunay and Mehelba. That's 36/36 till now. And Al Rashidi joins them now. Wow, this is tight!

09:45 (IST)25 JUL 2021

All the three have hit nine targets each without missing any. That's three out of nine Houses done!
