United came for a draw, or a probable 1-0 win, and got what they wanted. They put men behind the ball, and City simply kept shooting blanks. Jose Mourinho v Pep Guardiola ends 1-1-0 in their first season together next season.

Oh, and Fellaini is going to get his hair ripped out by Mourinho in the box - you just know that. What an eedjitt.

90' Valencia collects the ball ahead of Jesus, but his smash upfield finds naught but Otamendi. United are getting hurried here and the clearances are getting increasingly frantic. THERE WILL BE SIX MINUTES OF ADDED TIME.

88' Kolarov goes down under a shoulder push from Valencia, and he demands a penalty. Nothing having. There's a bit of afters as Jesus dives in late on Rashford. That's a yellow for the Brazilian.

86' Jesus (Navas) drifts one into (Gabriel) Jesus, but Bailly heads it clear. City are circling in, though, as they tighten the noose.

72' Man City are being kept at arms length here but the Citizens are all channeling their inner Xavi as they patiently pass the ball around awaiting an opening.

70' Sterling whizzes past Darmian and smashes it with his left foot - but De Gea is behind it all the way! United try their hand at this passing business - but Martial's sense of adventure and love for a good dribble sees the ball back at the feet of City

69' It's still City's ball, though, and Blind has to be on his toes to keep out a De Bruyne curler. City proceed to pass-pass-pass

67' The second corner comes to nothing, and Mkhitaryan does well to win a freekick just outside his own box. Fernandinho then smashes into Darmian and the guests on the day can gather some breath as Atkinson blows his whistle so that the Italian can get some treatment.

66' OH OTAMENDI!!! OH BAILLY! Sane whips in a lovely ball and Bailly does well to ensure his noggin' is in the way of Otamendi's on-target header. OH MY!

65' Sane and Kolarov try to whip balls in, but nothing is getting past these red ramparts. Kolarov's ball is unceremoniously scythed away for a corner by Herrera....

63' Yaya Toure tries to Yaya Toure his way into the box, but Eric Bailly is not letting his senior compatriot get away with bullying him - and does exceptionally well to put in a recovery tackle that takes the ball away from Toure

62' United are inviting City deeper and deeper and deeper... and City are obliging their neighbours. The ball is ALL City's.

61' United make a rare foray into the City half and Martial wins a freekick off Zabaleta. Herrera's too anxious to play in Rashford, though, and the quick freekick gifts the ball to City.

60' De Bruyne drifts away from Carrick with a lazy elegance that makes you wonder what in the hell made Chelsea sell him off, but his good work is negated by Sterling having wandered offside

59' Manchester United are playing with fire here. Once again, United don't clear their lines (Valencia the culprit this time) and Aguero gets all the space he could ever ask for in the United box. Inexplicably, once again, he smashes it well over. United simply can't afford to let the Argentine get so many shots on goal...

58' de Bruyne smashes one from a way off, but Bailly gets a nick on it and the ball only ripples the side netting. He then proceeds to swing in arguably the worst corner of his career. That one almost made it's way back to Old Trafford.

57' Herrera is pick pocketed by Sane... who wriggles his way into the box only to run into Antonio Valencia. He goes down, obviously looking for a penalty, but Atkinson correctly asks him to dust the grass off his backside and get on with it. Herrera then shouts at the German for what he perceives as diving. Kettle, black!

55' Sane has a pop after an inadvertent flick on from Fellaini (who had just done magnificently to take it off the forehead of Kompany).. but there's just too much red in the United box for the ball to make it's way through.

54' Martial loses his footing, and then the ball to Sterling and pushes him off it in frustration. De Bruyne stands over the ball in a dangerous position...

53' Kolarov eases into some space on the left, but his curling cross is straight at De Gea. The Spaniard tries to release Rashford early, but that man Otamendi is at it again. City try a small break of their own. but another superb sliding tackle from Bailly keeps a flying Leroy Sane at bay.

52' City pass the ball around in the typical Guardiola style and United are so very comfortable with that. Even Martial is shadowing Zabaleta as every United man stands behind the ball.

50' Herrera sees the ball trickling towards him, and with acres of space in front of him, his eyes light up. Just as his right foot connects with the ball, though, the immense figure of Otamendi is upon him and his shot is blocked away.

49' Aguero and that ridiculously magnificent low-centre-of-gravity of his manage to find space where there is precious little, but he can't get enough behind his shot and it's another comfortable save for De Gea.

48' United push forward, but Otamendi bullies Rashford off the ball again and sparks another City attack; Aguero motors into the box but is forced wide... he moves it onto Sane - who's dink into the far post is just a touch overhit for the onrushing Fernandinho

47' Sterling pitter-patters his way through the United midfield, but Carrick's done a good job of pushing his young compatriot on to his weaker side and the left-footer that eventually emanates from Sterling dribbles meekly into the hands of de Gea.

46' Otamendi kicks it straight to Aguero up top, but Bailly wins that particular duel. As has been tradition, on winning the ball back, a United defender lumps it forward to Rashford, but Otamendi again does just enough to keep him at bay.

Two gilt-edged chances missed apiece, plenty of feisty challenges flying in everywhere, City dominating possession as is their wont (and creating so many more chances in the process) and Jose Mourinho cancelling out Pep Guardiola.

46' Into ONE minute of added time we go.... and that eventuates in nothingness.

45' OH ANDER! OH ANDER! OH ANDER!!! Rashford whips in an amazing ball that finds Herrera's noggin just five yards away from goal - all unmarked and free - and yet, the Basque guides his header well wide. WHAT A MISS!

44' United pass the ball around the City third - no, they really do - and Darmian wins a clever freekick on the left flank off an over zealous Zabaleta. Rashford stands over it....

43' Sterling and Aguero play a superb one-two but the Englishman - having worked his way into the box - blazes it to row Z. That's poor! Especially as it came after such lovely build up play

40' Herrera does superbly to hold off the vastness of Yaya Toure, but Fernandinho comes in rather late - and sparks fly. A little pushing and shoving - and finally we are reminded that this is above all a Manchester Derby. The ref wisely keeps his cards in his pockets... for the moment, at least
