Rohit Sharma (POTM): Obviously, winning the game is most important. Great feeling to cross the line. We have been working really hard. Held a camp before the season started. We do understand that this isn't the end but the first win is special, so we are going to cherish it. We recently played a Test here, the pitch didn't look different then. Thought that it was important to get the spinners into the game quickly. As we saw, as the game went on, it was difficult for the batters to score. We spoke about the fact that if it's someone's day, they should make it big. I thought in my mind that it is going to be tough against quality spinners, so wanted to be aggressive and play my shots. it was good to see Tilak being positive as well. Was important for us to have that big partnership. We have a lot of young guys who haven't played IPL seriously. They will be hit for runs, they will keep getting out but it is important to give them the confidence and back the players. We want to have a healthy atmosphere. Don't want to make drastic changes looking at the results!

Cameron Green: You'd probably expect us to get there earlier but we got it, that was the only thing on my mind. I knew I had to be running for the second run. So, I took my helmet off and got through. The conversations we had on the bench was about staying busy and finding 2-3 boundaries. Thankfully, a few came off. It's pressure but it's fun. Getting 10 an over, that's why you're here. Nice to get over the line. (Last run) I knew the ball was going to Tim's end. When I saw the throw was high, I knew he'd get in. He's a big guy and put the dive in.

David Warner: If you look at the last three days, the IPL has been sensational. On the wrong end but we can't fault our bowlers, they were excellent today. Rohit was fantastic at the top of the order and we did well to pull things back. He's (Nortje) world-class. That's what we expect from the big fella. Bowling at 150 clicks, alongside Mustafiz at the other end, they did a great job. (His throw) I reckon if I threw it flat I would have hit David because he was running across. From the last three games we've played, there are a lot of positives. One thing we need to do is make sure we don't lose wickets in clumps. Axar has been fantastic with his batting, we'll probably have to push him at 4 soon. 180 was probably the par score on this wicket for the start we had.

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan gave the perfect start with flurry of boundaries in the powerplay. MI scored 68 runs in the field-restricted overs before Ishan was run-out over a poor call from skipper Rohit.

Rohit continued to play the big hits to reach his first IPL fifty in last 25 innings. Tilak Varma and Rohit constructed another solid fifty-plus partnership. Tilak smashed Mukesh Kumar for a boundary and two sixes in the start of 16th over but the bowler had the last laugh.

Mukesh dismkssed Suryakumar Yadav for a golden-duck before Mustafizur ended Rohit's spectacular knock. Anrich Nortje conceded just six runs in the 18th over.

However, Cameron Green and Tim David smashed one six each against Mustafizur in the penultimate over to bring down the equation to 5 runs in last six balls.

Nortje bowled his heart out to make life difficult fot the visitors. He took the game to the final ball where MI needed 2 runs to win. Tim David pushed the ball to mid-off and dived in back quickly to complete the second run before Abhishek Porel appealed for the run-out.

Mumbai Indians registered their first victory of IPL 2023 by six wickets. Delhi, on other hand, lost four games in a row.

Rohit wanted to play a full and wide delivery by Mustafizur towards third man but found an outside edge that carried to the keeper Abhishek Porel. After minutes of checking with the third umpire, Rohit was adjudged out. A big moment in the game.

Axar Patel: I was just trying to back myself and looking to hit anything in my arc. I went in with an attacking mindset so that paid off. When I saw the wicket, the ball was stopping a bit. So, I was trying to hold my shape and waiting to strike everything in my zone. On this wicket, it's important to hold the shape and not hit every ball. (Bowling) When we saw the wicket, I knew I'll have to bowl here. It's a challenging total. Hopefully, we can defend it.
