Mirabai Chanu at Paris Olympics 2024 Highlights & Score: Mirabai Chanu finishes fourth, narrowly misses out on a bronze medal

India's disappointing run in the Paris Olympics 2024 continues with another fourth-place finish for medal contender Mirabai Chanu. She fell short by 1kg and finished behind Thai weightlifter Surodchana Khambao in the women's 49kg final.

INSANE!!! Defending champion Zhihui Hou lifts 117kg in her final attempt in Clean & Jerk to retain her title in the women's 49kg final. She has a total of 206kg (89kg in Snatch and 117kg in Clean & Jerk).

Zhihui has also broken the Olympic Record in the women's 49kg event once again.

Defending champion Zhihui Hou will look to lift 117kg in her final attempt as she sets her sight on gold.

Japanese weightlifter Rira Suzuki fails to lift 117kg in her final attempt and will return home empty-handed. She couldn't enough lift the weights and thus an eighth-place finish for her.

Romanian weightlifter Mihaela Cambei lifts 112kg in her final attempt despite a wrist injury. She is on course for a gold medal with a total of 205kg (93kg in Snatch & 112kg in Clean & Jerk).

Thailand's Surodchana Khambao lifts 112kg in her second attempt. She moves to the second position with a total of 200kg. Meanwhile, Mirabai Chanu drops to the fourth place.

Romanian weightlifter Mihaela Cambei lifted 110kg in her second attempt but she injured her wrist in the process. She has retained the top spot with a total of 203kg.

The Chinese Gold medalist from Tokyo Olympics Zhihui Hou lifts 110kg in her first attempt. She will lift 115kg in her second attempt in Clean & Jerk.

Katherin Echandia ends her campaign with two failed attempts of 107kg and 109kg in Clean & Jerk. With a best of 105kg in C&J and 83kg in Snatch, she has a total of 188kg and has been knocked out of the competition.

UPDATE: Katherin Echandia upgrades her weight for a final attempt by 1kg. She'll attempt 109kg in her final chance.

Romania's Mihaela Cambei lifts 106kg in her first attempt in Clean & Jerk. She moves to the top with a total of 199kg (93kg in Snatch and 106kg in Clean & Jerk).

Cambei will lift 107kg in her next attempt in Clean & Jerk.

UPDATE: American weightlifter Jourdan Delacruz will lift 105kg in her first attempt in Clean & Jerk. Initially, she choose to lift 102kg but has increased the weights by 3kg.

24-year-old weightlifter Rosina Randafiarison from Madagascar ends her campaign with 100kg in Clean & Jerk. She is currently placed first with a total of 180kg (80kg in Snatch & 100kg in Clean & Jerk).

Nicola Lagatao lifts 77kg in Clean & Jerk. She will finish her campaign at the Paris Olympics 2024 with a total of 136kg (59kg + 77kg).

Mirabai Chanu will lift 107kg in her first attempt in Clean & Jerk. Three weightlifters have set higher weights in their opening attempts.

Defending champion Hou Zhihui fails to lift 93kg in her final attempt. She'll have to settle with a best of 89kg in Snatch.

Thai weightlifter Surodchana Khambao with a successful attempt of 88kg. She is placed second behind India's Mirabai Chanu in the latest standings.

UPDATE: Defending champion Zhihui Hou reduces her first attempt by 1kg. She'll lift 89kg instead of 90kg now.

Mirabai Chanu does it! She lifts 88kg in her third attempt in Snatch and moved to the first position.

USA's Jourdan Delacruz finishes Snatch with a best of 84kg. Two unsuccessful attempts of 87kg and 88kg will leave her disappointed.

Mirabai Chanu is all set for her second attempt in Snatch.

UPDATE: Belgium's Nina Sterckx crashed out of the women's 49kg final after three failed attempts of 86kg in Snatch. She finished 5th in Tokyo 2020 but has been eliminated in Paris 2024 after a disappointing show.

Taiwanese weightlifter Fang Wan-ling lifts 86kg in her final attempt in Snatch. She is currently tied on top alongside Thai weightlifter Surodchana Khambao.

Meanwhile, with two failed attempts of 86kg, Venezuela's Katherin Echandia finishes with a disappointing 83kg is Snatch.

UPDATE: Mirabai Chanu will next lift 88kg. She has upgraded by two kilograms (previously 86), hoping to move higher in the table.

Thailand's Khambao Surodchana moves to the top, having lifted 86kg in her first attempt.

Meanwhile, Belgium's Nina Streckx chooses to lift 86kg in her first attempt but fails to do so.
