86' Mix-up upfront for Chennaiyin FC. A brilliant cross from Jerry Lalrinzuala falls to Anirudh Thapa who gets ready for the shot but his compatriot Thoi Singh steps up for the shot himself and scuffs it away.

66' MISS! Possibly the best pass of the game so far. Rochharzela gets past two defenders and finds Idrissa Sylla with a mesmerising through ball across the pitch who splits open the Chennaiyin FC defence. However, Sylla bottles it up and places the ball wide of the target with only Kaith to beat.

64' Substitution for NorthEast United FC. Kwesi Appiah replaces Luis Machado.

60' MISS! How on earth did Lallianzuala Chhangte miss that? Fatkhulo Fatkhulloev finds Jakub Sylvestr in the box who twists, turns and shoots to force Gurmeet to save on full stretch. The save falls on to Chhangte who just has to push the ball into an empty net but fires it off-target on to the wall behind. Big scare for NEUFC averted.

57' MISS! NEUFC get in their third corner of the second-half. The corner is tipped by Vishal Kaith in the air but it lands up with Dylan Fox who never anticipates the incoming ball and heads it away from the target.

56' VP Suhair is replaced by Rochharzela for NEUFC.

55' SAVE! VP Suhair dummies with a move, creates some room for himself and crosses in towards Idrissa Sylla. Sylla swings his boot on to it and forces Vishal Kaith to pull off an acrobatic save to deny the Highlanders. The save results in consecutive corners but nothing comes out of it eventually. Brilliant play!

54' Eli Sabia loses the ball in the midfield, which allows Idrissa Sylla to be through on goal. However, instead of going for the goal on the first instance, he tried to find VP Suhair which derails a potential move.

49' MISS! NEUFC give up the ball cheaply in the box. Lallianzuala Chhangte finds Jakub Sylvestr behind Benjamin Lambot. Sylvestr goes for the goal from the left but is left to do too much from a tough angle and misses the target by a good distance.

47' Luis Machado wriggles past two defenders, twists and turns, sets up Idrissa Sylla with the help of VP Suhair for the shot outside of the box, however the attempted shot on goal is over the target

HALF TIME: NorthEast United FC 0-0 Chennaiyin FC

Both the teams started quickly in the initial minutes of the first half. Chennaiyin FC have been building from the back while NEUFC are looking to break on the counter after getting the ball in the midfield. Both the teams got some decent half chances but failed to score. Lots to play for in the second-half. Stay tuned to this space for the second-half.

43' Both teams try to break inside each other's boxes by playing it short among themselves but the lack of precision and direction in the final third takes the game back to the midfield as we are in the closing quarters of a very entertaining second-half.

41' Benjamin Lambot penalised for a foul from the back on Jakub Sylvestr. The referee could have shown the yellow card but decides not to.

40' Lallianzuala Chhangte goes for a shot, Gurmeet saves.

39' All hands on deck for Chennaiyin! A well-placed ball towards Luis Machado falls to Idrissa Sylla who manages to pull off a shot but it rebounds off a Chennaiyin FC shirt. The ricochet falls to Ninthoi whose cross goes out for a corner. The resultant corner falls to Dylan Fox whose attempt is rocketed over the target onto the stadium wall behind.

36' Luis Machado booked for a rough challenge from the back on Edwin Vanspaul. The Portuguese was nowhere near the ball while going for the ball. The correct decision from the referee.

34' Chennaiyin FC go back to building from the back. They try to break into the NEUFC box from the left side with Jerry Lalrinzuala and Lallianzuala Chhangte but the NEUFC defence is resolute enough to send Chennaiyin FC back to their half to build up again from the back.

29' Deepak Tangri is down with a head injury after he clashes with Khassa Camara while going for an aerial ball in his own half. The Medical Professionals are out in the pitch to help out Tangri.

27' A long ball from the centre of defence towards Ninthoi on the right-wing is delivered into the box towards an on-rushing VP Suhair but Vishal Kaith collects.

25' Chennaiyin FC pass it among themselves and try to play from the back. One such move finds Jerry Lalrinzuala on the left side as he gets pas Idrissa Sylla. Jerry gets in a low cross into the box but a hoard of NEUFC shirts linger at the back who deal with the situation with no trouble whatsoever.

22' The game has slowed down a bit after a very quick start.

17' Idrissa Sylla dribbles past two markers, finds Luis Machado who sets up VP Suhair on the left for the shot. The shot deflects on its way and goes out for a corner. The resultant corner swung by Luis Machado is long, forcing Dylan Fox to give in a return ball towards Benjamin Lambot whose header is rather loose, allowing Vishal Kaith to collect with ease.

14' NorthEast United FC get in their third corner of the match after a brilliant solo run from VP Suhair. The corner finds Dylan Fox who heads it over the target.

12' NEUFC swings in a corner which bobbles around in the Chennaiyin FC box, and ricochets off the woodwork to open play.

10' NorthEast United FC seems to have slowed down the game by keeping the ball with themselves and passing it around at the back. They try to build up a move towards Idrissa Sylla but Vishal Kaith comes out his position and punches the lofted pass away.

8' Chennaiyin FC trying to pile on as much pressure as possible on NorthEast United FC early on. Jerry Lalrinzuala finds Jakub Sylvestr in the box, but the balls runs out to Reagan Singh whose cross is deflected off for a corner. The resultant corner is pretty long for the Chennaiyin FC shirts in the box, and is eventually out of the danger zone. Good play early on.
