VINESH DISQUALIFICATION APPEAL VERDICT
Right, some big news coming our way. CAS has delayed its verdict to 11th August. So, it will be only after the Olympic Games are over that we will know whether or not Vinesh's appeal has been successful.
The CAS is quite shortly going to announce its verdict on Vinesh Phogat's appeal regarding the disqualification. Stay tuned, we will be back with live updates!

Right then, that about sums up all the action today. There wasn't too much on offer for the Indian contingent and once again, it's not been the best of days.
Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar completed their final day of golf today. While Aditi bettered her score but still couldn't reach par overall, Diksha Dagar's score pummelled down to a massive +13, which ended all hopes for both to win a medal.
As for wrestling, Reetika Hooda came out all guns blazing in her Round of 16 bout against Bernadett Nagy, winning on technical superiority, cruising into the quarterfinals.
She face first-seeded Aiperi Medet Kyzy in the quarterfinals and played a terrific bout, performing exceedingly well in defense. However, after one passivity point for each player, Reetika missed out as her opponent won the last technical point.
Reetika Hooda will now wait for the Kyzy's semifinal bout to know whether she will be in action tomorrow. A win for the World No. 1 will see Reetika play the repechage and possibly the bronze medal match tomorrow as well.
Right then, that's not all that we'll be seeing of the Indian contingent! At 12:30am IST tomorrow, the closing ceremony will take place where Manu Bhaker and PR Sreejesh will be proudly waving the Indian tricolour.

Right then, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar have completed their 18 holes for today and don't stand a chance to win a medal at all. Aditi, finishes with a score of +2, bettering it today and currently tied for 26th place. Diksha Dagar, on the other hand, finishes with a score of +13, significantly crashing down from her yesterday's position. She is currently tied for 48th place.
A campaign that had started out with so much promise withers away and both Aditi and Diksha fail to secure a medal. Their final positions are: Aditi Ashok: Tied for 29th Diksha Dagar: Tied for 49th

It was a 30 second passivity that cost Reetika Hooda a place in the semifinals of the Women's 76 KG. She can be incredibly proud of herself for the fight she put up against the number 1 seed. It's not all over for her though. If Medet Kyzy goes into the finals, the Indian grappler will enter the repechage round and will be in contention for the Bronze medal.

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar will play their final round today. They had a stupendous first couple of days and were in medal contention but the third day is where it went all wrong for them. They've slipped down to below the fortieth positions and a medal from here will be next to impossible.
