Right, it's a day to forget for us, isn't it? And it's becoming quite a routine for us to type this now but the results have been such that it's forced even the most optimistic Indian to start wondering whether we will equalise the number of medals that we had won at Tokyo 2020.

Not anything worth writing home about for the Indian contingent but we'll quickly take you through all that went wrong today, which is quite about everything. It all started with the news coming in of Vinesh Phogat being disqualified from the Olympic final that she was about to play for being overweight by 100gm. After all drama unfolded, in the end, the decision to grant her a silver will be taken tomorrow.

The Marathon Race Walk Relay Mixed Team event, where Priyanka Goswami faltered in the last round, and India ended up not finishing the medal race.

Then came the Women's Golf, which would have been a great result but some poor holes towards the end for both Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar saw them tumble down in the rankings. The Indian Table Tennis Women's Team put up a fight against Germany but the latter were just too hot to handle.

Then came the string of non-qualifications in track and field, where Sarvesh Kushare didn't qualify in high jump, Annu Rani failed to make it to the javelin throw final and Jyothi Yarraji finished 7th to be banished to the repechage rounds. Praveen Chithravel and Abdulla Aboobacker too faces the same fate at the end of the day as they too failed to secure qualification.

Antim Panghal, perhaps having Vinesh Phogat's disqualification on her mind, looked pretty clueless in the middle. She hardly lasted for less than a minute before losing out on technical superiority. Mirabai Chanu made a great start to her weightlifting final but narrowly missed out on a medal, perhaps due to the after-effects of her injury. And finally, Avinash Sable's campaign came to an end, finishing 11th in his medal race.

So that's all we have for you from today! Join us back tomorrow, as we wipe our tears and stay glued to the Indian contingent, all in the hopes of getting our fourth medal. Will India's Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra deliver it? We'll find out tomorrow! Join us right here at Sportskeeda for the complete coverage of Day 13 of the Indian contingent!
