We've seen some stellar bids throughout Day 1 of the PKL 2024 Auction, with plenty of high-profile players switching teams. It started with the PKL 10 runners-up signing Mohammadreza Shadloui for a huge sum of ₹2.07 Crore with Pawan Kumar Sehrawat also grossing big, returning to the Telugu Titans for ₹1.725 Crores. The most expensive player of the lot though, was Sachin at ₹2.15 crore, bought by the Tamil Thalaivas.

Plenty of big names came under the hammer. We saw Manjeet going to U Mumba while it was a homecoming of sorts for Pardeep Narwal, who returns to Bengaluru Bulls after the second PKL season. Maninder Singh was also brought back by Bengal Warriorz.

U Mumba also scripted history by signing Sunil Kumar for ₹101.5 Lakhs, making him the highest-paid Indian defender at the auction.

Bengaluru Bulls finally bow out of the race. Manjeet joins U Mumba at a revised price of ₹80 lakh. The FBM option is available for Patna Pirates and they've giving it some serious thought. They've opted not to use it, so Manjeet will be heading to Mumbai!

Quite bizarre for the Pirates not to exercise their FBM as they still have ₹2.80 Crores left in their purse and have only one recognized raider in their ranks!

U Mumba will be pleased with that though. They now have a solid raider to partner the terrific Amirmohammad Zafardanesh.

U Mumba in the hunt and we're all set for another Mumba-Bulls battle. It's only fitting that they end the bidding today, after battling it out for most of the day. The bid stands at ₹60.50 lakh with U Mumba.

We're up to ₹35 lakh with Jaipur Pink Panthers attempting to get things done. We've already learned that Bengaluru Bulls aren't going to be brushed away as easily though. In the blink of an eye, we're up to ₹46 lakh with the Bulls in the lead.

It's the last player for the day - Manjeet. The raider from Delhi gets an opening bid from the Jaipur Pink Panthers with Bengaluru Bulls still looking for some more action.

The raiding all-rounder was the Pirates' biggest buy last season, and his physical attributes and speed make him a deadly player to go up against on his day.

The Bulls push to ₹50 lakh, U Mumba follow. This might take a while again. The same process carries on as they go past ₹60 lakh. Make that ₹70 lakh with the Bulls in the lead. Back-to-back acquisitions for the Bengaluru Bulls as they get Pardeep Narwal in their ranks as well.

It's a homecoming for Pardeep, who started his PKL career with the Bulls.

The Bulls needed raiders heading into the final 3 players of Day 1 of this auction, and they went all-out, securing two top ones at that.
He may not be in the best of form, but the Record-Breaker is an asset to any team, and what he brings to the table is immense!

Here he is. The legend. The record breaker. PKL's most successful raider - Pardeep Narwal. Dabang Delhi open the bidding at base price. The Bengaluru Bulls are back in for some action as well. So are U Mumba. Feels like deja vu!

It's up to ₹106.75 lakh with Bengaluru Bulls in the lead. The message is clear from their end. They want their man at any cost. U Mumba raise it to ₹107 lakh and the battle continues. Down goes the hammer! Bengaluru Bulls have their man at ₹110.75 lakh. Phew, that was tense.

The Bulls were pushed to their limits, first by Jaipur and then by U Mumba. However, with not many quality lead raiders remaining, and with them not having made a single buy at this auction, the Bulls patiently kept at it, eventually landing Ajinkya.

He'll lead the Bulls' raiding unit along with Akshit Dhull and Sushil.

Adios, Jaipur. It's between U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls now and U Mumba owner Suhail Chandhok has his paddle up almost constantly. Bengaluru aren't backing out either, as we breach the ₹1 crore mark.

We might be close to the end of the day but the tension is palpable! Jaipur and Bengaluru aren't relenting at the moment. U Mumba are back in the mix at ₹87 lakh now as Jaipur drop out. Wow.

FYI, the Bulls' purse is a good ₹1.20 Crore more than U Mumba.

And it's a four-way fatal now as Jaipur Pink Panthers get into the mix. It's now the Panthers and the Bulls exchanging paddle raises. The Panthers hold the lead at ₹70.50 lakh currently.

The Bulls are yet to sign a player at this auction and after releasing Bharat, they desperately need a lead raider. Jaipur, meanwhile is looking for a supporting raider for Arjun Deshwal and Ajinkya Pawar would be a perfect addition.

Ajinkya Ashok Pawar is next. UP Yoddhas and Bengaluru Bulls put in their bids to kick things off. Telugu Titans join in the fun as well, making this a three-way battle. We're up to ₹50 lakh now and the opening two bidders are still going at it.

The ex-Thalaivas' player is a powerful raider, capable of producing some huge hauls on his day. With not many big raiders left at this auction, he's sure to garner some big bids.

Siddharth Sirish Desai won't get his homecoming. The Maharashtra raider moves to Dabang Delhi for ₹26 lakh!

He'll be a handy foil for Delhi's two lead raiders Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik, providing a powerful option to potentially turn to from the bench. Another strategic buy from Delhi.

Well, helloooo there, U Mumbai! They want the Maharashtra raider in their ranks. Up to ₹25 lakh now with neither franchise willing to let go that easily. After some consideration, Mumbai put in a late bid before being brushed away by Delhi again.

Our last category for the evening are the domestic raiders. Strap in, folks. This should be fun! First name on the list is Siddharth Sirish Desai. Dabang Delhi and Bengal Warriorz get the bids going. At the moment, Dabang Delhi holds the lead at ₹22 lakh.

The Bahubali chipped in with some crucial performances in the business end of last season to help the Steelers make the Final! Will the teams show any interest in him this time around?

Final name on the list, it's Mohit from Haryana. Will there be any bids for the left-corner? Puneri Paltan want a piece of him and put in a bid at base price. UP Yoddhas give it some consideration before waving it off. Welcome to Puneri Paltan, Mohit!

The Paltan had to replace Shadloui's left corner position at this auction, and while they do have a couple of NYPs who could also challenge for that position, Mohit is a smart signing for this purpose.

Vaibhav Bhausaheb Garje, the defender from Maharashtra is the penultimate player in this category. No paddles raised for him, so he remains unsold!

That's quite a surprise. The right-cover defender had a decent season for the Warriorz, but sadly he has no takers here. He'll hope teams renew interest in him tomorrow.

Hush hush around the room for Surjeet Singh before Jaipur Pink Panthers raise the paddle for a ₹50 lakh bid. They go one better, revising their deal to ₹60 lakh. That's that. Surjeet Singh will turn up in pink next season!

Surjeet Singh replaces Sunil Kumar in Jaipur's right cover. The experienced Indian right cover is the 2nd-highest point-scoring defender in PKL history, and he'll form a powerful cover combination with Iranian Reza Mirbagheri.

Unfortunately for Vishal Bhardwaj, he doesn't get a bid in this round of the auction and goes unsold. He'll get another chance tomorrow though.

Shubham Shinde is a Pirate! He garners some serious interest from the Patna Pirates who push up the amount to ₹70 lakh. The big purse bullies get their man after Bengal Warriorz cannot exercise their FBM.

Patna needed a quality right corner to replace the excellent Krishan Dhull and in Shubham Shinde, they've found the perfect candidate. A major acquisition from the Pirates to begin their auction.

UP Yoddhas open the bid for one of their own, Sahul Kumar. The right corner from Uttar Pradesh starts a bidding war between the Yoddhas and U Mumba.

The final amount is ₹30 lakh and the lad from UP is going to be representing his home franchise after Jaipur Pink Panthers opt not to exercise their FBM.

After winning the title with Jaipur in season 9, he'll look to bring that winning fortune to the Yoddhas. He'll be filling in the Nitesh Kumar-shaped void at right corner.

Sombir is the first of the defenders in this category. His base price is ₹20 lakh. Bengal Warriorz get the ball rolling with an opening bid and get their man at base price. However, Gujarat Giants exercise their FBM option and keep hold of their player for the upcoming season.

Sombir was reliable and consistent in the right corner for the Giants last season, and at base price, he's a steal.

After some deliberation, UP Yoddhas make their move before once again taking a back seat after Dabang Delhi bid ₹23.50 lakh. There's plenty of chatter around with some serious decisions to be made. The Yoddhas bow out of the race with that amount, and Ashish moves to Dabang Delhi!

Ashish is the final name on this list. UP Yoddhas get the bid going, followed by Dabang Delhi. The former franchise currently leads the bidding at ₹21 lakh.

The ex-Haryana Steelers all-rounder was a handy raider and an even more handy defender, chipping in with crucial points in their PKL 10 campaign. Where will he go this time around?

Rohit Gulia, the all-rounder from Haryana, is up next. Will he garner any interest from the franchises? The answer is no. Rohit Gulia is the second player to be unsold in this auction. He meets the same fate as Visvanath.

Remember, the franchises will have a chance to bid for these unsold players tomorrow.

Visvanth V from Tamil Nadu is the next player on this list. Not much buzz around the room for the man from down south. He's the first player to go unsold in this auction today.

Next up, it's Vijay Malik with the same base price. Telugu Titans open the bidding at ₹20 lakh. And they've got their man at base price. Vijay Malik is a Titan! Talk about a steal!

A versatile and hugely experienced utility player at base price! This is a smart, smart signing from the Titans!

UP Yoddhas have their man! Benguluru Bulls don't exercise their FBM and the Yoddhas get him for ₹1.30 crore.

He'll join Surender Gill and lead the UP Yoddhas' raiding department, and he has the big shoes of Pardeep Narwal to fill, does Bharat!

Alright then. First up in this next category is Bharat with a base price of ₹20 lakh. Telugu Titans and UP Yodhas get the bid going up to ₹60.5 lakh. Well, scratch that. UP Yoddhas bid ₹ 1.20 crore!

Both teams bidding heavily for the raiding powerhouse who spent three seasons as an NYP for the Bengaluru Bulls.

Some big moves towards the end of Category A, with the Tamil Thalaivas spending a huge chunk of their budget to sign Sachin for ₹2.15 Crores.

The Bengal Warriorz also used their FBM card to retain Maninder Singh for ₹1.15 Crores, and along with their signing of Fazel Atrachali earlier in their auction, they'll be really happy with how they've fared so far.

The Gujarat Giants also went all-out to sign a Category A raider, spending nearly half of their budget to rope Guman Singh in.

A total of 7 players crossed the ₹1 Crore mark, already breaking the existing record of 6 from last year's auction!

Category B is set to start in a few minutes. Will we see any more?

Bengal Warriorz get their man back! Bengaluru Bulls secured the services with a bid of ₹1.15 crores but the Warriorz use their FBM card and retain his services for another season.

Delight for the Bengal Warriorz's fans as their talisman returns for another season at the helm. They thought long and hard about using the FBM, but at ₹1.15 Crores, he's too good to miss out on.

U Mumba enter the race for Maninder Singh. They make a bid of ₹1.105 crores. Bengaluru Bulls bump that up to a figure of ₹1.15 crores and U Mumba pull out.

And with a blink of an eye, the bid goes past the ₹1 crore mark. Currently, Bengaluru Bulls have the upper hand with the bid. They raise it up to ₹1.10 crores now

Last player of Category A and it will be Maninder Singh. He has a base price of ₹30 Lakhs, but Telugu Titans go up and bump it up to ₹70 Lakhs.

Maninder is arguably the most consistent raider in PKL history and is 2nd only to Pardeep Narwal in the all-time PKL point standings. The former Bengal Warriors captain is looking for a new home. Where will he go?

Guman Singh is a Giants player! He switches from Mumbai to Gujarat, who went all-out for him, for ₹1.97 crores.

First big buy of the day from the Gujarat Giants, and they've placed a lot of faith in the young raider. He'll join Parteek Dahiya to shoulder the raiding responsibilities for the Giants.

Currently, the bid for Guman Singh stands at ₹1.91 cr with Gujarat Giants. UP Yoddhas come back yet again with a bid of ₹1.92cr.

A new player in the mix. UP Yoddhas joins in with a bid of ₹1.52 Cr, but the Giants hit back with a bid for ₹1.53 Cr.

The Giants have a whole ₹1 Crore more purse than the Yoddhas, and it'll be interesting to see how far the latter can go with this bid.

A bidding war again. Gujarat Giants hold the upper hand here with a bid of ₹1.51cr for Guman Singh.

The bid for Guman Singh goes past ₹1 crore in a jiffy! Gujarat Giants raise it to ₹1.11cr and the Bengal Warriorz counter it with a bid of ₹1.12cr

Next up, we have Guman Singh with a base price of ₹30 Lakhs. Telugu Titans raise the bid to ₹50 Lakhs within the blink of an eye.

The left raider was a part of U Mumba last season and is one of the most promising young raiders in the PKL right now.

Yes, they can! Sachin is a Thalaiva! They acquire the services of the raider for ₹2.15 Crores, making him the biggest buy at this auction so far!

The Thalaivas bump the bid up to ₹2.15 Crores once again to ensure that the Pirates don't use their FBM, which they don't!

Huge acquisition this for the Tamil Thalaivas, and with Sachin Tanwar joining forces with the immensely talented Narender, they already have a deadly raiding unit.

2 Crores now! Sachin becomes the 2nd player to breach the ₹2cr mark. Thalaivas raise the bid to ₹2 Crore to stave off any further suitors after the UP Yoddhas out. Can they seal the deal?

We have a third player in the middle. Welcome to the auction Tamil Thalaivas! They make a bid of ₹1.70 Crore for Sachin, but the Yoddhas aren't going anywhere either.

Quick advancements here as the bid for Sachin goes up to ₹1.40 Crore.

Sachin's consistency and ability to handle pressure make him a highly valuable asset, and the teams seem to be going all-out to get him here.

The current bid for Sachin is at ₹1 Crore. The UP Yoddhas and Gujarat Giants are the two teams involved in a bidding war to secure the services of the player for the next season.
