FULL-TIME! Poland 0 Argentina 2. Argentina top the group with a comfortable win against a Poland side who hardly showed any intent to attack. Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez was enough despite Lionel Messi missing a first half penalty.

Argentina look set to score but the dinked finish is cleared off the line by a Polish defender. What a pivotal moment that could still prove to be.

One more Argentina goal without a Polish reply will send Poland out.

Enzo with more good work down the left and he squares to Messi whose shot is saved by Szczesny. That was a great chance by Messi's standards.

GOAL! Julian Alvarez in the 67th minute! Poland 0 Argentina 2. That should ease whatever nerves Argentina must have had. Brilliant and patient as they pass the ball around, Enzo Fernandez threads the ball to Alvarez who takes one touch and fires it into the top corner. That is a typical number 9's goal.

Poland give the ball away and it's to Messi who jinks his way past a defender and then fires a shot which is blocked.

A lovely ball from Messi to the man releasing him on the left-hand side, again Mac Allister is free in the box but his low shot is straight at Szczesny.

Double change for Argentina: Nicolas Tagliafico is on for Marcos Acuna who is on an yellow card. Also Leandro Paredes replaces Angel Di Maria.

Now spaces appear as Poland attack and Messi goes on his mazy run but after going to the left he slices the shot wide. Just lost his bearings at the end.

Poland get a free-kick down the right. It's an inviting cross from there and Kamil Glik almost scores, his header just wide of the far-post. He rose high and just did not get it on target.

STAT: That was Mac Allister's first international goal and what a time to score it as well. The stadium is bouncing currently.

HALF-TIME! Poland 0 Argentina 0. It's Argentina all the way with Poland barely threatening anything. A soft penalty given when Messi was fouled by Szczesny saw the Polish keeper dive superbly to his left to keep the strike away. But Argentina are pressing and clearly it's just a matter of time before they strike.

Constant attacks from Argentina as Julian Alvarez and Di Maria test Szczesny but he keeps it out. And another time when Di Maria shoots straight at him.

PENALTY saved by Szczesny. Szczesny keeps Poland in it. What a save that is. Driven hard but at a comfortable height for the keeper who sticks out a big right paw and keeps it out. Pushes it aside and he gets up to roar and celebrate wildly. Fair enough as it was a very soft penalty.

PENALTY to ARGENTINA! The referee goes to look at the VAR monitor and points to the spot. What a big moment in the game. A really soft penalty to give as Messi had already headed the ball away and then was caught in the face by Szczesny. But VAR checked and asked the referee to have a look.

It's all Argentina at the moment. First Szczesny keeps out Alvarez's shot after Alexis Mac Allister had fed him from midfield with a piercing run. Then Szczesny gets up and flattens Messi at the back-post after the number 10 went to head it across.

Almost an Olympic goal from Angel Di Maria from a corner. It's curving in wickedly but Szczesny is there as he backtracks to palm it over. What a strike though.

Another Argentina chance - Alvarez's shot is blocked and Marcos Acuna gets the ball on the left, his thunderous drive is just wide of the far-post with Szczesny beaten.

Messi is in the mood tonight. Di Maria feeds him like he did against Mexico in the middle, Messi threatens to shoot like he did against Mexico, but goes outside and fires it at the near-post but Szczesny saves well. Was on target as well.

Messi has a half a chance as he turns to shoot on his right but a man closes him down and the shot is half-blocked, rolls to the keeper for a comfortable save.
