We still have Gagan Narang and Chain Singh in the last competition for the shooting events, The 50m Rifle 3 positions tomorrow but it has been a disappointing showing by the Indian contingent so far.
That is all for the Indian shooters today. Mairaj did falter in the shoot off and finished 9th. He was one of the first shooters eliminated from this round, extremely disappointing.
That was extremely tough on Mairaj. All the hype and expectation of making it into the final. Gone in a few seconds. Yet again we lose out in the last step. Not a good day, again!

We can understand how anxious viewers might be but patience is the need of the hour.
The shootout for the semi-final spot between five shooters is set to take place and we will be taking you through all that happens.

Sportskeeda has learned that the shoot off will take place in around 30 minutes!
This should give Mairaj time to think and calm himself down but it could work the other way around and make him a little nervous as well. Let us hope for the best!

We are still waiting for the shoot off to take place. This is certainly adding to the tension.
The anxiety levels among all of us are quite high and I am sure among viewers too. To control that, let's take a recap of how things have happened till now.
Rossetti is the man to be worried about though. The Italian hasn't missed a shot today and looks menacing.
Just to remind everyone, five shooters are tied at the moment and only two of them will make it into the semi finals.
There still are a few more shooters taking their final shots. The shoot off should begin right after that.
Trying to fathom what must be going into Mairaj Khan's mind at the moment. It would be important to not think too far ahead and focus on the job at hand. This is like a batsman trying to score 15 runs from the last over. Doable but not easy.
For all those of you asking when the shoot-off will begin, some shooters are finishing their rounds at the moment and the shootout shall begin after that.

There are a few shooters at the tail-end of the leaderboard finishing their rounds but all eyes are on Mairaj. Can he do it?
The athletes will be shooting from Station 4 in the shoot-off according to ISSF rule 9.15.5.4

This has been an incredible day of shooting. Full of ups and downs, there still is hope for Mairaj but he has to be spot on. No errors at all now.
Four Europeans and one Indian all vying for that semi-final spot, this is nerve-wrecking stuff.
Mairaj just has to keep his composure now. There are two spots for grabs, so he has a decent chance of making it through.
Just to inform viewers, there are 8 different stations from which shooters are supposed to take their shots.
This certainly will be tense for the five in the mix. Rossetti, Terras, Mairaj, Delaunay and Hansen will need nerves of steel.
The scores from the qualifying round will not be carried into the next round.
If only Mairaj had scored a 122. He would have easily made it into the next round and would not have needed a shoot off.

Mehelba falls a place! The Egyptian has missed a shot and now is behind Keith Ferguson!
The tie is settled usually by shooting a regular Double and if it is still not done, a reverse double is shot.
Mehelba has not missed yet. 102 for the Egyptian. Meanwhile, Alrashidi and Svensson are on 123.
There will be a shootout carried out break the tie as more than one player is on 121.
So far, Rossetti, Terras, Mairaj, Delaunay and Hansen have scored 121.
Mehelba gets started. A perfect 3 from 3 for the Egyptian but with so many shooters tied on 121, it could all change if Mehelba gets all 25 shots on target.
Just to inform our readers, Mairaj Ahmad Khan is still in contention and the possibility of a shootout is high.
Mehelba Azmi is also yet to shoot in this round and he has a score of 96. He could tie with Mairaj on 121!
There are five shooters on 121 at the moment, one more could join them on the same score.
Rossetti also completes on 121! Mairaji is now 7th!
Mairaj drops to 6th as Terras finished with 121! The Frenchman is now 5th!
Can Rossetti and Terras finished it off in style?
Terras moves on to 119. The Frenchman is eigth at the moment.
