Right, an exciting day for Indian shooting, with Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh qualifying for the 10m Mixed event final. Meanwhile, Ramita finished seventh in her final while Arjun Babuta faced a heartbreak, finishing fourth. Prithviraj Tondaiman ended Day 1 being placed 30th.

Prithviraj Tondaiman finishes Day 1 being placed last and 30th, with scores from his three rounds reading 22, 25 and 21. He will participate in two more rounds but the chances of qualification for him seem pretty unlikely.

Not the best of days for Prithviraj Tondaiman in the Trap event. At the end of the third round, he is placed 29th, having missed four shots in this round. His score reads 68 out of a maximum achievable score of 75 after three rounds. He'll certainly be disappointed with his performance today. A top six finish looks nearly impossible from here on.

NEARLY! Arjun Babuta finishes fourth and just misses out on a medal! The pressure of the big final gets to him and Arjun bows out of the final. He was leading for the majority of the match, and was just 0.1 points away from the gold medal position at one stage, but things have gone very differently from there on. Prithviraj has slipped down to the 18th rank, with the other shooters getting off to a good start in their second round. As Day 1 nears an end for the trap shooters, it will not be something to write home about for Prithviraj. His three misses in his first round is costing him dearly here.

PERFECT ROUND! Prithviraj doesn't miss a single shot in this round and notches up a 25/25. His final score reads 47 for now, as the second set of 15 shooters take their mark for their twenty-five shots. Based on average, he's ranked 15th but that's bound to change after the others take their shots. Remember, he needs to be in the top six to qualify.

The second round is underway and Prithviraj Tondaiman has bettered his ranking to fifteen for now, managing to find his mark with all the 19 shots that he has taken so far.

All the shooters have completed their shots and after the end of round 1 India's Prithviraj Tondaiman is at the bottom of the pile! He is ranked 28 with 22 shots on target!

10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Qualification

The pair of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have qualified for the bronze medal match. Bhaker hit the ground running hitting 7x in her first 10 shots. Meanwhile, Sarabjot's start wasn't spectacular but he pulled up his socks in the final two series, constantly hitting 10s. The duo ended up with a total score of 580-20x and finished 3rd. They will now face South Korea's Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho in the bronze medal shootout. Remember, Oh Ye Jin clinched the gold medal yesterday in the individual competition, where Bhaker won bronze.

Turkey's Sevval Ilayda Tarhan and Yusuf Dikec finished 1st, while Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec of Serbia finished second. Those two teams would compete for the gold.

Another Indian team that was participating in this event was that of Arjun Cheema and Rhythm Sangwan. The pair started off strong and were in touching distance of the top-4 throughout but slipped up in the end to end up on the 10th position with a total score of 576-14x.

The bronze medal match will take place tomorrow at 13:00 IST!

Arjun Cheema and Rhythm Sangwan finish on the 10th position. They had the top-4 in sight until the very last few shots and even though Arjun Cheema scored a brilliant 98 in the last series, a 9 of the last shot and three consecutive 9s for Rhythm at the end saw her finish with a 92 in the final series meant that the pair slipped down to number 10. Such are the fine margins of this wonderful game! Total score: 576-14x (Rhythm Sangwan: 288-6x, Arjun Cheema: 288-8x), Rank: 10

Prithviraj Tondaiman in Men's Trap Qualification Day 1

Right we're only minutes away from the beginning of the Men's Trap event qualifications and 37 year old Prithviraj Tondaiman from Tamil Nadu will harbor India's hopes in the Men's Trap event for Paris 2024! He suffered heartbreaks at the qualifications for Rio and Tokyo Olympics but has since showed remarkable resolve and resilience to make his Olympics debut aged 37!

Impressive shooting from Rhythm with 4 10s out of 4. Cheema has got back on track with two more 10s as well. Total score : 98-5X

Bhaker's second shot is a 10 too. In fact, she hits the centre but follows it up with a 9. The next shot hits bullseye. Sarabjot hits consecutive 9s and then follows it up with two 10s including an X. Total score 106-5X, Rank - 7

We will have a total of 17 pairs who will be shooting 3 series of 60 shots in total. Each series will have 20 shots with each member of the team having 10 attempts at scoring. At the end of the 3 series, the pairs who finish as the top-2 will compete for the gold medal while the third and fourth pair will compete for the bronze medal. The medal rounds are scheduled for tomorrow.
