Shooting Skeet Mixed Team Bronze Medal Match:

Another fourth-place finish for India at the Olympics! And this time it comes in the final shooting event which could have been the perfect finish but alas, it was not to be. The Indian shooters were largely inconsistent throughout the match and were always playing catch-up to the Chinese. Jianlin Lyu did not miss a single target and finished with a perfect 28/28. Jiang's three misses out of four in the second set gave India some hopes of a comeback but with Maheshwari missing the last shot on three occasions, India failed to do so. They were always that one point behind. In the end, they were left hoping for China to miss, which they didn't. A disappointing loss for the Indian pair.

Lyu finishes a perfect match! He has not missed a single target this entire match! The 20-year-old Jiang is under pressure - and she delivers! China edge past India by one point!

Time for India to go first this time and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka does all he can - connect with all four. Maheshwari Chauhan has done it too and India have done all they can in this contest! If China miss even one, we go into a tiebreaker!

Well, no surprises there as Lyu once again connects with his four shots. Time for Jiang next up and she makes no mistake this time! A perfect 8 for China and they take the lead! After Round 4: China 28 - 27 India

Time for India to go first and Anant Naruka starts off with a perfect 4. Maheshwari Chauhan misses the last shot again and India manage 7 from their round.

Time for China to go first this time, and Lyu, as usual does not miss a single one! Pressure on Jiang but she puts the three misses behind her. She misses just one this time. China are up to 20. India need all 8 to take the lead!

Lyu makes no mistake as he hits all four, Jiang misses three in her four shots and it's all levelled up! China have squandered a golden opportunity to take the lead!
After Round 2: India 13 - 13 China

India go first this time and Anant Naruka misses one again! He connects with three while Maheshwari Chauhan misses one too. Only 6 out of 8 for India.

China go first and both shooters connect with all four targets each! Lyu starts off with 4 and Jiang follows suit too!

Reminder of the rules - each athlete shoots at four hits in each round. 8 per team!

The bell rings and it's time for the ceremonial thudding of the baton before they begin the match. The shooters make their way to the middle amidst applause.

The clay targets aren't released randomly, the shooters have to call 'Aye' which is confirmation of their preparedness to shoot!

Remember, this is the last and final event before shooting concludes at the Paris Olympics. India has gotten all its medal from the sport thus far, can they finish it on a high note?

And now, they are on the brink of scripting history. India are in the final of a shotgun event after 20 years, with the previous being Rajvavardhan Singh Rathore in 2004.

An event which was largely neglected by most and there were not many hopes kept from this pair, with both not having qualified for their respective individual finals. However, combined, they had a really great three rounds earlier in the day.

After a stunning display of some shotgun shooting in the skeet qualifications, the duo of Maheshwari Chauhan and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka find themselves locking horns with China's Yiting Jiang and Jianlin Lyu for the bronze.
