Manchester United enter race for Edinson Cavani
Edinson Cavani in action for PSG

Despite Atletico Madrid widely understood to be the frontrunners for Edinson Cavani's signature, TF1 report that Manchester United are weighing up a move for the wantaway forward.

The 32-year-old, pretty much playing second fiddle to the blistering Mauro Icardi this season, is out of contract in the summer. He is not set to be involved against Lille either.

Barcelona form deadline for signing Suarez replacement
Luis Suarez groans himself upon injuring himself

As per latest updates from Sport, Barcelona have set a 48-hour deadline for themselves to find and snap up a replacement for the injured Luis Suarez.

Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno remains a top target, while Wissam Ben Yedder and Lautaro Martinez may also be considered as short-term options. Suarez, following a knee injury (lateral meniscus), was earlier ruled out for about four months.

Inter Milan set to announce Eriksen in few days

Christian Eriksen's move to Inter Milan may finally be completed in the coming days

Christian Eriksen is set to become an Inter Milan in the coming days without fail, according to Giuseppe Morotta.

Eriksen, earmarked for a move to Italy since the start of the transfer window with various stories reporting of advanced talks between the player and Nerazzurri, is finally set to switch to Antonio Conte's side.

Morotta, acknowledging the rumours surrounding the Denmark international, remarked, "Eriksen? We are not hiding, we have been negotiating with Tottenham for some time. I am optimistic, I hope to conclude as quickly as possible. I am confident that it can be resolved in the next few days."

Lo Celso set to be automatic Eriksen replacement, says Mourinho
Lo Celso has gradually earned a key spot for himself in the Spurs squad

Giovanni Lo Celso, who has started four of Spurs' last five Premier League games, has earned his spot in the main team, according to Jose Mourinho.

The midfielder is poised to replace contract rebel Christian Eriksen, who is closing in on a move to Inter Milan. Lo Celso completed an eye-catching, jinking run during Tottenham's 1-1 draw versus Southampton, to set up Son's goal. He has been taking giant strides since arriving from Real Betis on loan.
Spurs have an option of signing him for just over £27 million now, or for £34 million in the summer.

And Mourinho accepts the youngster is improving by leaps and bounds, as he opined, "I think the boy is earning the decision. He's making an easy decision for the club to execute the option. Incredible evolution since I arrived. Barely played a game...but he understood what we wanted. He's a good learner, a good kid and I think by himself he made the decision that the club is going to execute the option. That's normal, he earned it."

Spurs open talks with former superstar Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale
If reports from the Daily Express are to be believed, Spurs have revived their interest in landing wantaway winger Gareth Bale to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Hamstring and calf injuries have restricted Bale to just 15 appearances this season, while Zidane doesn't really have the Wales international on his favourites list either. A loan move has supposedly been ruled out, with both clubs having held talks only over a permanent deal. With Christian Eriksen set to depart and Harry Kane out, Mourinho is desperate to beef up his attacking armoury.

AS Roma set to sign Barcelona youngster Carles Perez
Carles Perez is all set to bolster AS Roma's attacking line

FC Barcelona and AS Roma have reached an agreement for young forward Carles Perez, who is close to switching to Italy on loan, with an option to buy for £11 million later in June.

The 21-year-old, who became a surprise addition in the Blaugrana squads under Ernesto Valverde, was going through a purple batch before Quique Setien's arrival scuppered his chances in the first-team. With talks between the clubs understood to have advanced over the last couple of days, the player is well poised to look for regular football elsewhere.

Lampard acknowledges the need for signings as short-term fix
Frank Lampard calls for action amidst Chelsea's indifferent run of form
Chelsea narrowly pipped Hull City by 2-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup, and despite clear bossing of proceedings, they were never really able to provide the sucker punch whilst also visibly illustrating their frailties on set-pieces.
Lampard, who has witnessed his side struggle in the recent past, opened up to the board, requesting signings in order to reach their top 4 ambitions.

Speaking to BT Sport on the scenario with transfer activity, he remarked, "We lost certainly one of the biggest players in our history and one of the most effective and dominant players in terms of what he did. That is the situation. We lost ground last summer, so we need to, for the short-term, push for this top four finish because I have a strong feeling where we can improve personnel-wise to take us forward. For me it's clear."

Milan meet Piatek's agent to discuss future
Piatek has been monitored by various clubs previously
AC Milan, who have not received the best of Krzysztof Piatek this season due to sheer failure of replicating last term's heroics, have sat down to discuss the striker's future with his agent, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
The sharpshooter, with just four league goals to his credit thus far, has been keenly monitored by a host of European powerhouses such as Manchester United, Spurs, and even Newcastle - who are in dire need of a center-forward.
