Inter Milan interested in Genoa’s Goran Pandev

Goran Pandev

Inter Milan are interested in former player Goran Pandev, who is currently playing for Genoa, according to Gianluca di Marzio, the acclaimed Italian journalist. Antonio Conte reportedly sees the 36-year-old as the ideal back-up striker in the team, amid concerns over Alexis Sanchez’s form. The Serie A side are reportedly in the market for a striker and have identified Pandev as the right candidate.

However, a deal might not be easy, especially since Pandev is an important member of the Genoa team and the club would loathe to lose the player who has scored 5 times in 18 Serie A games this season.

Atletico Madrid drop interest in Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani

Atletico Madrid have put an end to their pursuit of Edinson Cavani, Sky Sports reports. The La Liga side was engaged in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain for the last couple of days, but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement for the transfer of the Uruguayan. Atletico Madrid had even presented an improved offer of £15m, but the Ligue 1 side were adamant in their £25m valuation of the player.

Manchester United and Chelsea also remain interested in Cavani, but it looks increasingly likely that the player will stay at PSG beyond this month. However, Atletico Madrid are expected to renew their interest in the summer, when the Uruguayan will be a free agent.

Manchester United interested in Salomon Rondon
Salomon Rondon

Manchester United have turned their attentions to Salomon Rondon after missing out on Krzysztof Piatek, the Times reports. The former West Bromwich Albion player is currently playing in the Chinese League, but a loan deal could be possible after the start of the new Chinese League season was canceled due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus epidemic.

The Red Devils have completed the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, but are still on the lookout for a striker, preferably on loan, to address Marcus Rashford’s lengthy absence due to injury. Rondon, who has Premier League experience, could be an interesting option for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has previously admitted that United need a striker.

Marcos Rojo joins Estudiantes on loan for the rest of the season

Marcos Rojo

Marcos Rojo has joined Estudiantes on loan for the rest of the season, the Argentinean side confirmed on twitter. The Argentinean defender was deemed excess to requirements by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he almost left the club on the final day of the summer transfer window. However, a move to Everton could not be completed and Rojo remained a Manchester United player. He appeared 9 times for the Red Devils this season, and struggled to cement a place in the first team. This is why a loan move does make sense for the player at the moment.

For the Argentinean, the move also means returning back to where it all began. Rojo rose through the ranks at Estudiantes to impress for the first team years ago and will be hoping to hit the ground running for his old team.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Southampton skipper Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Sky Sports reports. The Lilywhites have initiated efforts to bring the Dane to the club, but face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Everton. However, Hojbjerg is a pivotal park of Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans and prizing him away will not be easy.

The Dane joined the Saints in 2016, from Bayern Munich and has won the Champions League as well as the Bundesliga during his time in Germany. His current deal expires in the summer of next year, and Southampton are currently negotiating a renewal.

Tottenham Hotspur reignite interest in Willian Jose

Willian Jose

Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their efforts to sign Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose, the Independent reports. Spurs want to add one more player to their kitty before the end of the winter transfer window and are desperate to get a backup striker, as Harry Kane might miss the rest of the season after his surgery.

The Premier League side have already seen an initial £10m offer turned down by the Spanish side, but are ready to return with an improved bid. Sociedad previously wanted £21m for the Brazilian but might be open to lowering their demands in the wake of Tottenham’s interest and the player’s desire for a move to the Premier League.

Dries Mertens

Chelsea have begun talks with Napoli to sign Dries Mertens, Sky Sports reports. The Belgian, who is nearing the end of his contract with the Serie A side, is expected to cost the Blues around £5m. Newcastle United agree loan deal for Danny Rose

Danny Rose

Newcastle United have agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Danny Rose on loan for the rest of the season, Sky Sports reports. However, the deal does not include an obligation to sign him permanently. The Englishman has not featured for the Lilywhites for the last four games, amid reports of a rift between him and Jose Mourinho.

Bournemouth and Watford have also been interested in Rose, but Newcastle United seem to have won the race for the player’s services. The Magpies manager Steve Bruce has previously expressed his admiration for the player and the deal is expected to materialize in the next

Barcelona ready to offer  £20m for Chelsea’s Willian

Willian

Barcelona are ready to offer Chelsea £20m for the services of Willian, Sky Sports reports. The Brazilian is in the final 6 months of his contract with the Blues and could be available for free in the summer, which could witness a battle among top teams in Europe for his signature. The Catalans, however, are plotting to get ahead of the competition by bringing him to the Camp Nou this month.

The Blaugrana have attempted to prize the Brazilian away from Chelsea in the summer of 2018, when they had quite a few bids, including one  as high as £55m, rejected by the Blues. Willian is expected to leave Chelsea this year, either this month, or in the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur set to miss out on Krzysztof Piatek

Krzysztof Piatek

Tottenham Hotspur are set to miss out on Krzysztof Piatek, as the Polish striker will join Hertha Berlin from AC Milan, acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed. The Lilywhites were in talks with the Serie A side for the last couple of days and had identified Piatek as the ideal replacement for the injured Harry Kane, but it is understood that negotiations failed to reach a conclusive end. The Premier League side were looking for a loan deal, while Milan were only interested in a permanent move.

In the meanwhile, the Serie A side have agreed to a £23.5m deal with Hertha Berlin that will see that player move to the Bundesliga permanently.
