Chimaev shoots for a takedown, and Usman quickly retreats to distance. Chimaev lands a crushing punch to the head. Usman lands a stiff jab; he lands another set of jabs. 'The Nigerian Nightmare' seems to be getting better of the striking exchanges. Usman tries to level change but is stopped in his tracks by the Chechen. 'Borz' goes to a double leg and puts Usman on the ground again. A resilient Usman gets back to his feet, but there is very little time left on the clock to make a comeback. The fighters end the bout swinging wildly against each other.

Kamaru Usman is exercising a measured approach, sensing the takedown threat. 'Borz' is showing much-improved head movement compared to his fight against Gilbert Burns. Usman feints multiple takedowns. Is he baiting 'Borz' into a counter? Usman lands a beautiful straight punch. Chimaev shoots for a takedown and puts his opponent down on the canvas. 'Brorz' unloads a few punches from the mount.

Usman says measured, effectively hand fighting, 'Borz' preventing the submission threat. Usman stands up, and Chimaev tries to sink in a rear naked choke. Sensing the threat, the American slams himself down to the ground, forcing Chimaev to let up on the choke. Wow!!! 'The Nigerian Nightmare' is on survival mode. Luckily, Usman survives the round.

Ankalaev pivots and transitions to Walker's back, presenting a submission threat. Ankalaev commits a foul as he lands a knee to the head of a downed Walker, and the referee stops the fight.

The ring-side doctor asks for the fight to be stopped after conducting a concussion test on Walker, and an enraged Johnny Walker pushes the doctor aside and tries to continue the fight. The Russian also rushes towards his opponent. Total Pandamoniun ensues in the octagon.

UFC CEO Dana White rushes to the cage, forcing the fighters to let up and accept the disappointing ending to the potential banger of a match-up.
